This is a beautiful story, the story about a woman running from abuse with her small son, she is blessed when she finds a job managing a restaurant in Wishbone Texas, and her boss Duke and his caring and loving family take them in, Cora and her son have found their place and love.
Cora and her son Toby arrive late for the her new job, they have driven across Texas to hopefully find a safe haven and a good job, when she meets her new boss Duke she is taken in by his caring ways and his good looks but her son is her priority, but when she ends up at the family ranch and being taken care of by Duke’s family at first she is worried Cora is a very independent woman who holds a secret, but the more time her and Toby spend there the more safe she feels and the more her feelings are pulling her towards Duke.
Duke has been working himself into the grown running his restaurant it is time to hire a manager and on the recommendation of his friend across the state he hires Cora, when she arrives late he helps her with a place to stay and his family all jump in to help with her son Toby. Health wise Duke needs to take some time off and it is not long before he knows that he can trust Cora with the restaurant and he is getting closer to her, but when he discovers something from her past this could be a game changer.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story, the strength that Cora shows after what she and Toby have been through is amazing and that she can still love is awesome and when danger arrives it shows more than ever that Duke is the man for her I think there was an instant attraction even if he did jump to conclusions he is nothing but loving and caring. I do highly recommend this one and I am very much looking forward to more in the series, there are a lot of Wilson’s that need their stories told.
