This story is so beautiful, heart-warming filled with emotion and such wonderful characters, I loved Owen and Callie straight off both had been hurt from previous partners and neither of them were looking for love but love found them so beautifully.
Callie is summoned to New York for the reading of her grandmother Frances’s will, a grandmother she didn’t know she had, after being hurt by her boyfriend she takes the trip and is totally stunned by what she learns. Callie is not interested in what she has been left she is more interested in uncovering what happened between her mother and grandmother and uncovering secrets that had been kept for many years. She meets Frances’s godson Owen Perry who is not that happy to meet her.
Owen loved Frances dearly she helped him and his mother through a very hard time and she asked him to help Callie in anyway when she came to New York, but he is having problems with her attitude, oh she is beautiful and full of life and is asking lots of questions, but she is pushing his buttons, but help her he does. After what happened with his fiancé he does not trust people especially woman but the more time he spends with Callie the more he is pulled towards her and the sparks fly.
I did love this story, Michelle Douglas worked her magic with words and bought both Owen and Callie together when it was looking like they would never make it from their first meeting, but uncovering Callie’s family secrets had them working together very closely one kiss was never going to be enough and trying to keep their feelings locked away no way they needed to let them fly and when they did wow. Callie is strong and so very caring and passionate about everything and Owen is also caring and loving both are very easy to love.
I highly recommend this story, it was very hard to put down, if you haven’t read a Michelle Douglas book then this one might be the place to start and I am sure you will be looking for her back list, she is an auto buy author for me I never miss one of her stories she puts so much heart and feeling into them and I did love my trip to New York, such a fabulous setting. Thank you Michelle Douglas for another keeper.
