I love a good royal romance and this one is very good, a fabulous debut, the characters are very lovable and real as we journey to Maynet and meet King Xavier and Princess Katerina, as they fight their emotions and pull to each other for reasons that they both feel strongly about.
Xavier is widowed and does not believe in love at all, he has his reasons but it is time that he remarried to get an heir but he must choose carefully it must be someone who will not fall in love and of course it must be someone from a neighbouring country as per the treaty rights, but when he asks is widowed sister in law Princess Katerina to join him on the royal tour, time spent together plays havoc with his emotions.
Katerina was a young eighteen year old when she married Prince Max and it was not a marriage to be enjoyed, but she fell in love with Maynet and after Max’s Death she stays and continues her role with the royal family and vowing never to marry again and be put through what she was put through with Max, when she agrees to attend the tour with Xavier she knows that this will put her heart in danger as she already has such deep feelings for this strong caring and loving man.
This is very well written romance, it digs deep into the emotions of both Xavier and Katerina and shows how their pasts can make them feel about their futures, a beautiful story with lots of fabulous dialogue that sees them open up and break down the walls they have both built and sees them journey to a fabulous HEA. This is one that I would recommend to any romance lover.
My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my digital copy to read and review.
