This is book three and the first one I have read and it was easy to read as a standalone but I do now want to read the first two in the series, this is a story told in two time lines and both were really good come along and meet Holly and Jesse and Jake and Mercy.

2015 Holly Colter is a nurse but she is not happy doing this she yearns for farming life and decides to go and live on her grandparent’s property a place she many holidays over the years and is looking forward to getting back in and helping with the cattle and the property but one thing she hadn’t expected was Jesse Kavanagh to be back on the property next door the guy she fell for all those years ago and the one she never forgot but pushed to the back of her mind.

Holly is busy helping on the property and she also discovers some things about the history of her family a murder and that Jesse’s family is also part of this history and she investigates with some old letters that have been given to her, But with a cyclone coming their way and her grandparents not there Jesses comes to stay and help but the pull is too great to ignore and again she finds herself in Jesse’s arms but she holds a secret that may change everything.

1897 Mercy Forbes is struggling on her property to care for her four children with an abusive husband and one who is not always there to help, times are hard but when she finds her husband murdered one morning in the shed things take a turn when the Sergeant Jake Morgan is there to investigate he has his suspect but the powers above him are pushing for Mercy to be pulled in but there is a growing pull between the pair will he be able to keep Mercy and her children safe and keep his job as Police Sergeant in the small town of Banana?

This is a well written story and both time lines had fabulous characters in them strong woman who stood up for themselves HEA’s abound and I will be looking forward to reading the rest in the series, I do highly recommend this one to any reader who loves a good romance.

My thanks to the author for my digital copy to read and review.
