When Fiona McArthur writes a story she puts heart-felt emotion into her characters, the settings are always so very good and of course the romance is beautiful, this time we meet outback midwife Sophie Sullivan and Ophthalmologist Dr. Levi Pearson as they journey to a beautiful HEA although it is fraught with some danger.

Sophie has moved back to her home town, Jabiru Town in The Kimberly’s after being terribly hurt by the man she was to marry, this leaves her very untrusting of men especially rich men who don’t always tell the truth, while driving home from an outback clinic she comes across a very good looking man who is in a dangerous position and she stops to make sure all is well and offers advice. This meeting will change Sophie’s life but not before some hurdles are jumped.

Levi has arrived with his pregnant sister Odette to investigate the death of their estranged father in the outback to the holiday resort Xanadu. This trip does not go to plan when he meets the midwife after Odette invites her and her brother to an overnight stay at Xanadu and a helicopter ride to the Bungle Bungles ends in a crash, this brings him closer to Sophie the strong and determined woman who has built a wall up around her heart and although he is keeping secrets himself he really wants to get to know Sophie better.

I loved this story from page one, it is exciting with all that is happening as well as such a beautiful romance as Levi works to bring Sophie’s walls down and get her to open up, yes their journey to a HEA is rocky in many ways especially when danger is close and babies want to be born. I would highly recommend this story, it was a one sitting read for me and is sure to make any reader feel so happy with the ending, lots of happy sighs from this reader.

My thanks to the author for my digital copy to read and review.
