This is a fabulous story, it has a bit of everything in it, it is witty, fun but so very emotional as we get to know two people who are grieving, both are caring lovely people but life has caused a hick up in their lives is there a chance that meeting each other could change all of that?
Kate Harris and her eight year old nephew Riley are making a new start in life after the loss of her sister and Riley’s mum in a freak accident and that means a move from Tenterfield in Queensland to a small country town, Forrest Gully in Victoria on the coast a move to the sea. Kate has a lot to prove not only to herself but to her parents and that is that she can be a parent she knows it is not going to be easy going from the fun aunty to the parent.
Gus Stevens has lived on the outskirts of Forrest Gully because he likes the solitude after an accident changed his life forever when he lost his fiancé he has a few friends in town but a lot shun him, there is just him his dog Speedy and the sheep that roam free, but everything changes quickly when the property next door that he has been watching is sold and he has new neighbours a beautiful young woman a and young boy, this is the last thing he wanted.
It doesn’t take long for Kate to fit in with the small town community and the sheep bring her and her neighbor Gus closer together not always in a good way but Gus becomes good friends with young Riley this is a good thing but also has Kate worrying about whether she is doing OK as a parent, emotions are running high when a storm puts Riley’s life in danger will Gus be able to put his past behind him and step up?
I absolutely loved this one from start to finish, I devoured every word while I got to know Kate, Gus and Riley as well as Speedy the dog and Monica the sheep who made me smile, there are so many fabulous characters from Town as well, it is beautifully written, so many emotions and I felt them all I do hope we have another trip to Forrest Gully. I highly recommend his one to anyone who loves a heartfelt romance with fabulous characters.
