I do love a book in a series and this one is set in a well-built medical clinic on Maple Island off the coast of Boston, and what a story it is to start the series, the setting is fabulous and we get to meet double amputee physiotherapist Maggie Green and Dr Protocol Alex Kirkland and his son Jake, so make sure you have some time to get to know them because you are not going to want to put this one down once you start.
Maggie arrives on the island with two children that need medical and physio for injuries they have, and she arrives with a bang in bad weather the ferry is damaged, but nothing fazes Maggie, the bright bubbly, positive person she is and when she meets her boss the sparks fly and the attraction is instant, Maggie has arrived early to start her three months’ work there, will she find true love?
Alex built this clinic after he lost his wife while she was on a tour of duty leaving him and his then one year old son on their own, he throws everything into the clinic and making sure that all is run according to health and safety rules, he does not like being out of his comfort zone, that is until Maggie arrives what she does to his equilibria knocks him for six, can he find love again?
I loved this story, MS O’Neil has such a way with words, she makes me smile and brings out the emotions and feelings in the people she writes about, this story has such witty banter it will keep you turning the pages. Maggie and Alex had a few hurdles to cross before they could find their beautiful and moving HEA and Jake what a kid, I do highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to the rest in the series.
