Where do I start, I loved this one so much, truly I love my trips to The Northern Territory with Mel A Rowe, the descriptions put me right in the heart of the setting with the awesome characters as well, getting to know The Riggs brothers has been exciting and fabulous and this time we see how Dex’s life will pan out when the knuckle boxer arrives in the emergency room and meets nurse kitty, Sophie come along for a journey filled with twists and turns.
Dex is a tough guy an illegal knuckle boxer and his past has left him vowing never to get close to anyone especially a female, he is tolerating his brother’s partners but is still wary but when he is injured in a fight and ends up in the emergency room at the small Elsie Creek hospital seeing the beautiful nurse just might start to open up his heart.
Sophie has run from her past and moved from a big town ER department to this small hospital with her therapy cat Mr. Purrington but when she meets her new patient her heart does a double dance this man is just gorgeous but he is a patient and she has been burnt badly twice before so she is not looking for love but maybe it will find her.
When Dex finally leaves the hospital it is to camp on the couch at the caretakers cottage with Bree and Charlie and he is not happy this is not him and he needs visits from the nurse to ensure he is healing and Sophie pushes him in so many ways not just to heal his body but maybe heal his heart the chemistry between them is fierce and strong but will they learn to trust each other?
Then the family’s livelihood is threatened by rustlers, Dex must take a chance with his life to protect what is theirs, his family and the woman he is falling for, will he come out the other end with the woman who is so special to him?
This series just gets better with each book, the romance between Dex and Sophie is gorgeous and had me cheering and smiling then there is Bree and Charlie, I think Bree is brilliant by the way I love her the banter between her and Dex is the best as we uncover more of Bree’s secrets and Charlie is full on with finding out what happened to his brother sixty years ago a mystery that is growing with each book. All of The Riggs brothers and those with partners play a part in this story and I can’t get enough of them and the top end.
Mel A Rowe never disappoints and this one is action packed, filled with so many different emotions I couldn’t put it down but I didn’t want it to finish either, bring on book four I can’t wait, another book that I do highly recommend it is just awesome, I loved it.
