What a story this one is, I am not sure where to start, I loved it so much set in the early 1950’s the author MS Lovegrove has taken on some issues that sadly are still around today hopefully one day they will be gone. Let us meet Italian immigrant Luca Morietti washed up on the shores of Bruny Island in Tasmania and Esther Anderson who lives in the lighthouse on Bruny Island with her family and share their journey to a HEA years in the making.

Luca has emigrated from Italy to flee war and a family problem he is working hard to make a new life and hopes to one day have a vineyard here in Australia, but finding a good coffee in Australia is not easy. When the boat he is on gets washed ashore after a storm, he is rescued by a beautiful girl and he loses his heart to her almost instantly.

Esther enjoys reading the Australian Woman’s Weekly and daydreaming about the fashions and the parties as she works hard to help her family running the lighthouse on Bruny Island, when she discovers a man washed up on shore, a man who has very dark hair and is obviously not Australian, she is drawn to him and feels the need to help him get well, losing her heart along the way.

This story had me on the edge of my seat in many parts as Luca and Esther are pulled apart they have found love and passion and a mother steps in and tears them apart, one year apart and neither of them have stopped loving each other. Esther and her family end up in Hobart and Esther never stops looking for Luca. Life is hard and being destitute is not good and Esther is forced to care for her family and this takes a twist that is not at all pleasant for her.

I think Luca is just a fabulous hero I loved him and Esther what a heroine she is so strong and what she went through to care for her family and then the way her mother and sister treated her no one deserves, but the family she loves needs to be looked after. I did worry at times that Luca and Esther might not find their deserved HEA but they did and I cried bucket loads of happy tears.

This is a fabulous story, all the emotions the tears, the happiness made it a story that I loved and would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you MS Lovegrove for the copy to read I do look forward to many more.
