I really do enjoy my trips to Granite Springs, it is like visiting with family and friends and I am thrilled that Liz Pender owner of the bookshop The Reading Corner is going to get her HEA with newcomer to town editor of The Granite Springs Advertiser Sam Walker, I do hope you come along for the journey which has its ups and downs.
Liz moved to Granite Springs twenty years ago after the loss of her beloved husband in Afghanistan, she has made a good life here with her bookshop and cat Marmaduke, she has lots of friends but has never thought about finding a new man that would feel wrong for her. When there is a threat that maybe she could lose her shop to development Liz goes all out with the help of others to try and save the building, she meets the new editor of the newspaper Sam Walker and is not happy that he will not help them in their quest to save the shops, but there is a spark there.
Sam has left behind the hard world of political journalism in Canberra for the quiet life on acreage in Granite Springs he is determined to never take sides or get mixed up in political cases in this town then he meets the beautiful Liz Pender and he stands his ground on his principles but he is drawn to Liz and goes all out to make friends and get to know her more.
Sam and Liz spend a lot of time together with the choir and slowly get to know each other and the spark just keeps growing but there seems to be obstacles jumping up all the time between them as the fight goes on to save the shops and Liz needs to finally let go of her husband and look to the future and Sam wants nothing more than to be with Liz but he needs to go slowly. This is a beautiful romance with a gorgeous HEA one that had me smiling.
Sadly this is the last in this series and it has been a fabulous one, I loved getting to know all of the characters from this town and seeing the older generation find the love and happiness that is so well deserved was fabulous Maggie Christensen has done a wonderful job and I do hope that there may be a future reunion story for us. Thanks for such a fabulous series.
My thanks to the author for my copy to read and review
