Book two in this fabulous series and I am loving it, this is Shay’s story single mum to fourteen year old Ryan and she finds it hard to trust but when someone who she went to school with and had a huge crush on back then returns to Marietta after being away for nearly ten years, Shay is shocked when her brother Liam hires him to work at the ranch, you see with his father’s past and the insinuation that he too was involved Shay worries for the business they are building on the ranch and lets her thoughts be known.
After being away for many years working with horses in Texas it is time to come home for Cooper Lane and his father as well, he has just been released from prison for something that he says he did not do, cattle rustling and Copper has always believed him. Taking a job with the Hardesty family will be hard because he knows that Shay is there the girl he had a crush on at school but has always been love in his eyes and now she has a son will he be able to work close to her and keep his heart intact.
When there are some break-ins at the ranch Cooper is worried he has engaged a private detective to help prove his father’s innocence but Cooper is worried about what the answers will find, but he knows that he will do anything to protect Shay and her son and the Hardesty family.
This is such an awesome story, filled with emotion, a little mystery and danger and fabulous characters in a beautiful setting, I loved seeing these two open their hearts to each other and Cooper break down the wall that Shay had built around her heart, will they get there in the end?
This one left me smiling and it is one that I highly recommend, I can’t wait for book three.
My thanks to Tule Publishing for my digital copy to read and review.
