A Week In Milan by Aimee Duffy

A Week in Milan

Reviewed by Desere

There is no woman that would say no to a trip to the stunning Milan, and if you're a fashion designer there is no chance at all that you would say no.

So when the heroine Amanda gets the chance grabs at it as fast as her seriously hot and very gay friend Cody can advise her to do so, the fact that she is concerned about leaving her son alone for a week is nothing near as hard to imagine as the fact that she would need to spend the week with Gio, who happens to be the man in each and everyone of her very dirty fantasies.

But once there Gio is reluctant to sleep with Amanda even after she tells him it will be no stings attached sex. Of course one man can only resist a beautiful woman for so long and ultimately he caves telling Amanda no stings sex it is but never anything more, but Amanda can tell he is holding back and she is desperate to discover the reason.

Only Gio has no intention of ever telling her even after he realizes he has fallen in love with her. Amanda also soon realizes that it has gone from no stings to completely attached, but with Gio not talking and instead walking away it seems she has once again fallen for the wrong man and just like the first time around her heart has been ripped to shreds.

This author has a way of making her books so scorching hot it seems the pages just want to go up in flames with every word written. Flames aside she also always manages to create stunning, realistic characters and set against such romantic backdrops it oozes sexiness, romance and passion.

All of this was once again found in this read and I loved it to bits! Vivid descriptions, stunning romance and extremely hot sex! The read had a little bit of everything every romance readers seeks in a perfect escape into romance.

I'm taking away a message of as parents we have a major influence on our children, so stop and think before you speak, advise, insult or fault your children for you might just be the reason they turn out to be lost souls.

Sinfully Summer by Aimèe Duffy

Being seen as a party girl that does nothing more than jump in bed with every other guy, party hard all night long, get drunk and caught in awkward positions, can be a good thing if you don't care what the world thinks.

But if behind the party girl lifestyle there is actually a intellectual, hard working, longing for approval person, then that façade you are trying to upkeep to the outside is simply putting your own happiness on a back burner.

The new Aimèe Duffy read tells the story of Alexa, she is wild, crazy and totally free from caring what anyone thinks, in fact she reckons the tabloids hunting her down just to see what or who she does is or when she flashes her panties to the world, is completely boring and tiring, no one wants to read that, go find the latest pop star scandal already!

Yet, she also knows her reputation is important as heiress to her father's fortune, even if she refuses to touch it, she still knows she need to try and behave and stay out of the news for awhile. So she works hard to keep her company going but slacks off on the parting it up, well just a smidgen, after all she does not want to be completely boring!

But when she is dared to do a holiday dare by her two crazy friends she grabs it, she never backs out of a dare. Only the dare goes wrong and she finds herself face to face with in-my-arms-you-will-burn-hotter-than-the-sun Ric, and up to her ears in the scandal of the century.

The character of Alexia was fantastic! I totally adored this woman. She says what she wants, does what she wants and wears what she wants. A real kick-ass heroine! I loved, loved that she does not back down at anything Ric throws her way. I did however find her level of emotional disconnection to her father a bit disturbing and at first I thought her partying so hard all the time was a way to show him she actually does not care what she does simply because she knows it will tick him off. But as the author let her evolve I was delighted to find a completely different reasoning behind it.

The character of Ric, was dark ladies and I mean dark. The man has secrets and more secrets filled with layers and layers of regret. I loved how the author let me be able to pick up on the reason why he is so dark and his deepest darkest secret before actually coming right out with it. It made him mysterious on one level but also so much of a tortured hero on another I just wanted to wrap his delicious body up in my arms and comfort him.

I did however not agree with the guilt trip he puts himself on for his past, there are people in the world that does things far worse then he did. I agreed on some level it was acceptable but not to the point he takes it. However, the author played it up into the read so perfectly that it overshadowed my opinion and therefore gets a definitely yes from me, as being a great plot.

The backdrop settings were so romantic and delightful that if was if I could feel the sun beating down on me, smell the ocean and hear the music. The dialogue was classic Aimèe Duffy, romantic and sexy yet this time it was ramped up so much more, it left me tearing up and feeling emotionally drained!

The author let the conflict and sexual heat between Ric and Alexi build and build until it exploded with such a amazing bang it left me breathless and begging for her to continue, I honestly did not want this read to stop.

I am taking away a message of life is what it is, we all do what we have, bad or good no matter, we do what is needed to survive. But letting your past hold you back will be the one thing you regret the most. Stand up, face it with a smile and hope for the best.

A romantic, sensual, sexy heart stopping read, highly recommended for all fans of romance with a twist of fate and learning to live it up.

Note to the author, you had me at undergarments !

I love when a book grabs my attention in the very beginning, and this book does just that. On a dare from her two best friends, Alexia Green runs the halls of an exclusive hotel in Marbella Spain wearing only her underwear. This latest dare is about to bring her up close and personal with one smoking hot Enrique Castillo. In the limelight for all of the wrong reasons, this heiress has an ... I don't care attitude. I could not help but like Alexia's character, she seemed like a party girl "think Cindy's Lauper's song" girls just wanna have fun. But she is so much more than meets the eye. Loyal to friends, fun loving, organized, hard working and also running her own company.

Enrique "Ric"Castillo grew up in the slums of Spain after being abandoned by his own mother. Adopted by Maria and Antonio Castillo, he wanted to prove he is worthy to be made partner on the latest resort being built. But Alexia Green is a distraction he doesn't need or want. He fears her bad press will bring his tragic past to light. So he will keep her at arms length and use her to help plan his charity ball. The character of Ric has a very dark pass and I couldn't help but admire how he had come full circle.

These two are instantly attracted to each other, and the sexual tension is forefront throughout the story. When they finally do hook up it is off the charts. I mean sizzling, the kitchen scene wowza! But soon a misunderstanding has these two at odds. While I enjoyed the story for the most part I did have a couple of issues. I thought Alexia forgave Ric way to soon. Also there was the overuse of the word "hormone or hormones" almost every time Alexia was aroused. And finally how often Alexia placed her hand on her hip when wanting to voice her opinion, which was often.

I would recommend this book. You will find darkness, fun, passion, forgiveness and a HEA!

Never Say Never by Aimèe Duffy

Never say never are famous last words we have all heard and used through the years. In the end we have all gotten the opportunity to eat our words as our never become a definite forever.

In the new read from author Aimèe Duffy the never word is exactly the word Chloe and Sander live by. Chloe because she has been used and hurt before and is not planning on going down that road again, and Sander because he has a secret hidden that will send any woman dreaming of happy ever after running. But when the two are brought together with a uncontrollable passion they both learn the true meaning of never say never.

The character of Chloe was in the start a very weak one, yes she works hard to help take care of her mother and I did feel sympathy that she has had a hard time in the relationship department and now has to really work double hard to get to the top and at the same time juggle her ill mother.

But because she had been hurt before I was actually thinking she would be just a bit stronger in fighting off the 'evil' of the celebrity world.  But of course the title of this book is Never say Never and I liked that the author lets Chloe take a chance, but yes would have liked to see her as a bit more of a stronger heroine. The author did at a later stage bring the character out of her almost 'go with the flow 'state and into full fighting for what she wants mode, and was the moment the I was shouting "YES, very nicely done Aimèe"!

The character of Sander was a real charmer ladies, the type of celebrity that actually has a heart, not that all celebrities are heartless, but we do get those even in real life that simply only do everything for themselves and the status it can bring them.

Sander however was what I call a nice young man, no wait that one is a lie a very hot delicious man, who has made it big but has not lost his compassion. I did feel sorry for him and his big secret however when the secret it revealed I could not help finding myself torn between calling the man a stupid idiot for not seeing that the Chloe will accept it and going into full "Oh shame poor man" mode.

I did love that the author showed that both characters are the light in the darkness that the both of them needs to get up and build a real life.

The backdrop settings ranged from nice and cosy to comforting and exciting, all nicely matched up with the scenes playing out. The dialogue was great the author gave me the emotion from the characters that I needed, from heartbreaking to revealing and confrontational.

The author did once again give me as reader her great emotional charged characters that were able to pack a punch in the touching my heartstrings department and at the same time leave me with a powerful message of never say never for you don't know what the future will bring are words to live by.

The sexual content in this read was not of the full on erotica kind nor the sweet and caring only kind but a rather a combination of the two, so if your more into the full on hot and heavy page after page of wild sex this read is not for you. But if you like a little wild and crazy sex combined with a sensually explosive glow and your a reader who likes romance combined with the world of celebrities, this will be a great afternoon read.

Never Say Never by Aimee Duffy

Will two people who have been badly hurt, be able to put their past behind them and find love with each other. Neither one of the two main characters in this story are looking for love. But sometimes when you least expect it, that's when it finds you.

Chloe Butler was made to feel like someone's dirty little secret. Good enough to take to bed, but not quite good enough to walk the red carpet with her Actor boyfriend. So when her mother finds out she has dementia, Chloe drops her loser boyfriend and comes back home to England to take care of her. Making her Mother her top priority she is hoping to find a better job and hire a nurse to help out with her Mother's care. She also makes a promise to herself, she will never get involved with someone famous again.

Sander Chase has also been burned, he came home to find his best friend and "band mate"in bed with his now ex-fiancé. He has not been able to get out of the legal contract with the band. And now his manager is wanting him to make nice with his ex-fiancé and ex-friend at their engagement party. He finds himself needing a believable date for the party and wants Chloe to help him, but she continues to refuse. When he finds out the reason behind her refusals, well he just melts your heart a little more.

Sander and Chloe's characters were well written, I enjoyed how they fought the love that was growing. The passion was very well written too. And Aimee did a good job of making the story line believable. I felt myself wanting to smack all of the ex's in this story. Trust me they all deserved it.

Isle of Sensuality by Aimee Duffy

This read was absolutely breathtaking! I completely enjoyed each and every minute of it. I could not put it down and it was like a drug, I was addicted to each and every sentence and needed more!

We have all seen on screen attractions between co-stars and then a little while later we sometimes get to read in the gossip columns that the two are now dating and that the heat on screen is just as hot off screen.

But I can with all honesty say I have never thought about the behind the scenes part of attraction, what goes through the on screen lovers mind when they are feeling real heat while it is being filmed for all the world to see, I personally would be embarrassed!

In Isle of Sensuality the author took me not only behind the scenes of it all she conveyed every aspect, complication and emotion of it all combined with excellent writing and brought it all together with such a powerful force it left me in awe of just how hot it can get during and long after the cameras have stopped filming.

The author did a excellent job at conveying the in depth emotions of both Jake and Caitlin. And both characters were simply superb! I wanted to cry for poor Caitlin in some instances and at other times I was ready to hit Jake so hard! Yes ladies I am being completely serious when I say the book was so well written and so powerful it was as good as watching it on screen and seeing the lives of these two play out in front of me!

The backdrop was simply perfect in every sense of the word, so romantic! What I totally adored was how the author not only used sizzling attraction between Caitlin and Jake to make for some really scorching reading but she also let it build to such a feverish pitch and then let it explode with such a deliciously hot bang it left me completely breathless and in absolute amazement.

Not wanting to give it all away here as believe me this is a book you simply do not want to miss out on. I will say only this, it is the perfect read for any lover of romance or for lovers of absolutely powerful, emotional, sensual, captivating and compelling reads. This book had it all and so much more. It will for sure hit the best selling list.

Exquisite writing from a brilliant author, I cannot wait for the next read from a definite rising star! Aimee bring us more!
