The Taming of Xander Sterne by Carole Mortimer

Reviewed by Desere

Six weeks ago a car accident left Xander Sterne with a broken leg and to his disgust also the need for live in assistance. But to his surprise help arrives looking like he never expected. Exquisitely tempting Samantha Smith, is Xander's dream come true, well if you count the bed " em and leave 'em dream that is, broken leg or not he will have her!

With her boss launching a flirtatious and very persistent assault on her senses , Samantha has to push really hard to try and stay professional and unmoved by Xander's skillful seduction. But then she starts to wonder just how long it will be before he convinces her to join him in refining the meaning of personal assistant.

If you are ever in need of a warm, sensual, blissful romance read, this one is perfect! The chemistry between Xander and Samantha really was all things sugar and just a little bit of spice.

Both characters had a really great mystery feel about them, making it one of those couples you immediately want to dig out from the sand and start dusting off the layers to reveal just exactly what his hidden, and trust me the layers the author wove around these characters were sensational!

And Xander, oh my delicious, mysterious, smoldering hotter than hot Xander , what a man! He comes off as a really nice guy, and seems very open but in actual fact is quite dark , dark to the point were he started to at one stage worry me just a little, but in true Carole Mortimer fashion she brought the real Xander out and it was simply spectacular !

Samantha was a really great heroine, smart, funny and she had just enough feistyness to make me like her, not too much to be a total " I want to get rid of this heroine, as in kill her off!" and not too little to make me want to shout " Get some courage girl!" , just perfectly done Carole!

I am taking away a message of when people are really in your corner, the biggest mistake you can make is to assume they are doing it simply because they feel sorry for you, communication is the only way you will ever be sure, so push for that answer , yes it could very well be not what you want to hear, but at least you will then know. And most importantly don't let the most important person in your life walk out the door, once they are gone you might not be able to get them to come back.

I recommend this read for all fans of sweet and sensual reads filled with that special Carole Mortimer magic!

Flirting With Dr. Off-Limits by Robin Gianna

Years ago at her brother’s wedding, champagne fueled Katy kissed her brothers best friend Alec Armstrong.  Now, in the present, they face each other again.  Katy is an intern at a large and busy hospital where Alec (who is a surgeon) is going to be her teacher.   A strict code of ethics forbids Katy and Alec acting on the attraction that they both feel  and the lines become blurred.  It’s hard to ignore their long history and their memories of growing up together.  Unfortunately both of them could lose their careers and as it is Alec is hanging on with dare life to a secret from his past which would ruin him if their colleagues found out.
An of edge of your seat romance, packed with medical adventure, some amazing medical scenes were incorporated in Flirting with Dr Off Limits, it really helped set the scene and everything was right there playing out in my imagination clear as day!   Amid all the drama Alec and Katy face the impossible and the wrath of her brother.  I thoroughly enjoyed this story, I think it’s another winner from Robin Gianna and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves medical romance or Greys Anatomy ;)

I was also excited to read my own words in the Praise for Robin Gianna section.  What a fangirl moment, thank you HM&B!

Everyone knows that when it comes to flirting with the forbidden , it's playing with fire , but more importantly you that you shouldn't do it at all, but it's so much fun and so addicting that stopping is hard, so really hard.

For intern Dr. Katy Pappas, seeing the very delectable surgeon Alec Armstrong again is pure sweet torture! He rejected her after their sinfully delicious kiss years earlier, but boy oh boy does the man still send her into a tizzle! She still wants him and she wants him bad!

Alec is captivated by Katy, she's all grown up and temps him into sinful thoughts, but she's also his best friend's sister, a colleague and his student and therefore definitely off limits. He won't risk their careers with muddling the waters, but as we all know resistance is futile when it comes to something that feels so very right,

Robyn Gianna is fast becoming a author that wows with amazing realistic characters and memorable plots, this time I again got the wow characters and the amazing plot but the difference between this book and her previous reads ? This time she brought her A game and totally wowed me into a state of speechlessness.

I was entranced, transfixed, romanticized and completely blown away.  I adored each and every moment of this read.

The passion, the resistance, the drama and the sweet and soul for-filling ending, it was all simply perfect. Great twits and turns that kept it interesting and wonderful best of all it was a nice, quick easy read.

Noting felt dragged out, yes there is a bit of a back and forth issue but in most reads of similar genres the author did not let the back and forth resistance get in the way of the flow of romance, great job Robin.

I am taking away a message of life has all kinds of little up's and down's generated into the everyday life  and designed to make us fall from our neatly erected throne but falling is not always as bad as it seems. So when you feel yourself being pushed it's important to know when to let go and when to try and hang on, the trick is to of course to make sure to make the right choice, how you may ask will you know, well here's some advise chose your goals and then take the decision.

I recommend this read for all fans of medical romance reads, it was fun, easy to read, lighthearted and had just the right amount of emotion to let you know drama can always be overcome.

" Flirting with the forbidden leads to finding the heart and soul of life"

Review by Alexia - 5 Stars

"Flirting with Dr. Off-Limits" by Robin Gianna is a Medical Romance. Dr. Katherine (Katy) Pappas is a surgical intern. Dr. Alec Armstrong is her resident adviser and her brother Nick's best friend. They grew up together, but after he’d rejected passionate kiss when from her in the past things were not the same between them. Now Katy still has the hots for Alec but he is now her teacher and that is frowned upon for ethical reasons.

Alec is "off limits" for more than one reason but grown up Katy is doing a number on his libido, and now she is also "off limits. Will they fight this attraction between each other or take it to the next level? This is a great read, and I recommend it if you love romance. If you love Medical romances I highly recommend reading this.

I seriously wish I had a hard copy of this book. I loved it that much!

Dr Katherine Pappas had a huge crush on her brother's best friend who treated her as if she was part of the group and not someone unwelcome when she followed the duo everywhere and conducted science experiments with them. But the girl's got a brain and knows when to stop making her life hell after a man who wants nothing to do with you.

The problem? The man does want her in his life but Dr Alec Armstrong does not know how to make that happen. Being Katy's teacher at the teaching hospital she is interning at added to the fact that she is his best friend's kid sister makes him all kinds of ...(use anyone word you like because it is he thinking that and not me).

In all the hustle of the hospital life, the resolution to stay away from each other and not think of each other gets lost and they do end up together. The sparks flying between are just too strong. Love does that.

Now the question is, will they let all that lie dormant or do something about it? Are they strong enough to brave the gossip that they fear might run rampant or are they cowards? I leave you to read and find out for yourself.

This is the second book that I have read by Robin Gianna and I have loved them both.

200 Harley Street: The Soldier Prince by Kate Hardy

THE SOLDIER PRINCE by author Kate Hardy is June 2014 release by Harlequin Mills & Boon Medical Romance series.

Prince Marco, injured on duty lands in hospital under the care of physical therapist Becca Anderson. But he can’t be just the patient as they had already shared a night of passion before. Marco decided to start again what he’d left unfinished before. Could he persuade Bella to be his royal bride?

Then Bella’s past spilled over in the papers and she knew she was not fit to be a royal bride but what would Marco do now?

THE SOLDIER PRINCE is a lovely royal romance between a prince and how an ordinary girl, fought adversity and raised above all the hardships in her life. Author Kate Hardy brought this inspiring and emotionally uplifting story and it’s a treat to read.

Highly recommended to all readers of romance.

Life as a soldier for Marco is as tough as it get's , he has to protect his unit and being a Prince certainly does not make it easy. But with luck the press keeps him and his unit out of the spotlight. Then it all goes wrong when the unit is ambushed and Marco sustains an injury to his hand.

He is flown back to London for treatment, upon arriving he discovers his physical therapist is none other than Becca Anderson, the woman he shared  a magical, forbidden summer with long ago.

Becca is more than shaken by the royal surprise not only does she know Marco as " Seb" but she also never knew him to be a prince! Becca and Marco are clearly meant to be together or fate would not have brought him back to her, but Becca has secrets and they are certainly not the kind the Royal family will want splashed all over the tabloids. And therefore she has to resist his charm no matter what.  But resisting her heroic soldier prince will be much harder than she thinks.

This was a really nice, feel good romance read. I loved Marco, never mind the fact that he is a Prince, it was his entire attitude that had me hanging onto his every word. Charming, sophisticated and a true hero in every sense of the word. I loved his fight till the very end spirit, it made him a serious sexy soldier!

And Becca, ah poor Becca my heart broke for her when the secrets are revealed and the press literally called her every single bad name in the book of disgrace. But even though she felt down, heartbroken and in need of some serious tender loving care, she still held her head high and tried to take it all in the best way she knew how.

The ending of this read is what really got to me, it was one of those " Ah could not be more perfect ending" kinds and I for the third time during this read found myself reaching for the Kleenex.

I am taking away a message of life has a way of knocking us down, us being able to pull ourselves back up and think that it will be the end of it. But of course no past ever goes away until it is well and truly faced up to.

So instead of sitting around waiting for your past to come back and knock you down, face up to it with every ounce of the necessary come backs and then walk away with your head held high, after doing this you will never be worried about the past showing up when you definitely don't need it to.

I recommend this read for all fans of romances that love sexy soldiers, charming princes, feisty secretive heroines and a journey of love shining brighter than the brightest diamond.
