This is a great story that will have you turning the pages the setting is so lovely a Navy hospital and SEAL training base in Okinawa, Japan.

Erica Griffin grew up a Navy brat with her father a SEAL but she lost him when she was young in tragic circumstances and decided that she wanted to join the navy herself but be a Doctor and she is nothing but strong and determined and has made her way up the ranks although not without some problems. She has served on the hospital ship Hope for some years and has treated many patients but there is one that has stayed in her mind for five years he will never be forgotten even though she never knew his name, but now it is time to make a move to a new workplace on the Japanese Island of Okinawa little realising that this will change her life forever.

Captain Thorne Wilder has been through a few tragedies in his life and is now determined to be a loner he is a Doctor and a very good trauma Doctor but has been a SEAL as well until an accident changed that for him. He is now in charge of the hospital on Okinawa and they need a new second in command someone who is good at what they do. He has never forgotten the face of the Doctor who operated on him five years earlier and changed his life and now he will actually get to meet her when she arrives to become his new second in command.

This is such a beautiful and emotional story of how love can help heal and bring happiness to people who really have been through some tough times and then to come out showing such strength I loved how Erika always stood up for what she wanted and thought was right no matter how much Thorne pushed her and to see their beautiful HEA bought tears to my eyes while smiling.

TAMING HER NAVY DOC by author Amy Ruttan is August 2015 release by Harlequin Mills & Boon Medical Romance series.

Captain Thorne Wilder was the man who had haunted her for the last five years!

Surgeon Erica Griffin had him on a stretcher when she first saw him and then she’d amputated his infected leg. Now face to face with him as her commanding officer, would he recognize her? Did he blame her for taking his leg?

TAMING HER NAVY DOC is a story which would hook a reader in and keep her glued to the pages till the end. Author Amy Ruttan brought this amazing setting of surgeons on army base which I enjoyed. It was fast paced and kept me engrossed in the story. I loved the emotional tension and the chemistry of Thorne and Erica.

Highly recommended for all readers of medical romance.

Can I give a star just for our Hero's name?  Thorne Wilder #sigh Or for the magnificent location description of beautiful Okinawa, Japan #devine  But then that would mean there would be only three stars left for a story that I couldnt put down and this story deserves more than three stars. The reason I give Taming Her Navy Doc five stars is because the plot is so unique from everything else in this genre that I was hanging in there until the very last page to find out how on earth Erica and Thorne #DoubleSigh are going to get their happy ever after!

A sensational beginning has our surgeon heroine making the descision to amputate a stranger's leg.  As he's part of a covert op with the Navy and that's all she knows.  This mysterious stranger is "the one" you never forget.  Life goes on and Erica transfers to Okinawa, Japan #AgainDoubleSigh and discovers Thorne is her Commanding Officer.  Navy rules are strict and their love/hate (ok it's way more love than hate) is basically a no no, a losing your career no no!

I've read about scarred heroes, cripple heroes, blind heroes but never amputee heroes and I think Thorne #yesSigh was portrayed well, his amputee d leg was part of his issues and Erica isn't short of her own problems either.  Mixed with a beautiful setting, enough road blocks to cause a traffic jam I really really enjoyed the journey Taming Her Navy Doc took me on.

Amy Ruttan is becoming a firm fave!

"Taming Her Navy Doc" by Amy Ruttan leaves the reader enthralled in wanting to learn what will happen next. This is a 'Medical Romance' and tells us the story of Erica Griffin and Captain Thorne Wilder. The first meet when she is called in to amputate the leg of a Navy SEAL. He tells her not to amputate but infection has set in and there is nothing she can do to differently. Fast forward 5 years and he is now her commanding officer.

There is quite a bit to this story that I am leaving out for the reason that it is a great read, and deserves to be read rather than me telling you about it. It is a quick read, and I really liked it.

Review by Hina - 5 Star Review

A John Doe is what he was when Erica first operated on him in the middle of the night. A man who was hell bent on serving his country and damn the consequences.

Though she had some words to say, he was taken out of her care as he was a part of a covert operation. Years passed and she still thought of that time with a man she did not even know the name of. The blue eyes haunted her still.

Erica works hard to make a name in the still male dominant profession of being a Navy Commander and hopes to one day being a Captain. To lead and not just be the second in command.

On her posting to Okinawa, as Commander, she come face to face with those haunting blue yes that she remembers so vividly. She had believed him to be dead as the infection had been very severe when she had operated on him but he had made it. He lived and now she was his second in command. A man she has not only seen at the most vulnerable but also a man she was highly attracted to. The man is Captain Thorne Wilder.

Thorne knew who Erica was before her request to work in Okinawa was approved. He remembered the achingly beautiful and compassionate woman who had saved his life and sort of taken away the life he wanted to live with one decision that she made. He wanted to hate her for what she did but being a surgeon himself, he understood why she did what she did.

The moment she reported to him and he saw her, he started feeling the loss he had to bear at her hands again. Calling himself all kinds of fool for getting her here, irrespective of her being one of the best trauma surgeons, he decides then and there to make her life miserable here so that she file for a different posting.

What he finds out later is that she is one stubborn woman ready to bear all that can dish out and still stand her ground. Her ambitions and zeal are far too strong to be broken in this manner. A woman who respects herself enough to know how to remain tough when in line of fire.

What these two have never thought their future held was a life of love and happiness because both of them believe they do not deserve it and both of them are wrong.

These two people who have sacrificed for the love of their country and for the love of the people they call their own, deserve all the happiness that their tomorrows together promise to bring.

Recommended to every Romance Reader.

Taming Her Navy Doc was a sweet, emotional story. I liked reading about such a strong, heroine, Erica, having the grit and determination to advance her career in a male dominated world, as well as hold her own with the hero, Thorne, whose leg she amputated years earlier. I couldn't help but fall in love with Thorne for his scars and his ability to love a woman who was not only his equal, but who'd made the decision to amputate his leg. Something that changed his life and his career and which lots of people wouldn't be able to get past. If you love Medical Romance, you'll love this one!

“Taming Her Navy Doc” by Amy Ruttan.  Amy Ruttan did it again! Another great story!! Medical Romance!!
The night Navy Surgeon Erica Griffin was woken in the middle of the night to help an injured Navy SEAL while she was aboard a hospital ship. She made the decision that his leg had to be amputated. The Navy Seal came in as a John Doe arriving by helicopter and had his surgery and his commanding officer removed him 8 hours after surgery. He had begged her not to amputate his leg.
Erica remembered him and always wondered if he lived and of course so did the Navy Seal.
Five years later Erica moved up the ranks and was transferred to a Naval Hospital in Okinawa. Turned out that her new commanding officer is that same wounded soldier. She finds out his name is Thorne Wilder.
Captain Thorne Wilder was looking for a 2nd in command and her name had been first suggested. Erica grew up as a Navy brat with a father that was a SEAL.

Thorne knew who Erica was before her request to work in Okinawa was approved. He remembered the beautiful and angel like woman who had saved his life.
As much as both tried to not get involved you would have to read to find out what happens. These two people have sacrificed for the love of their country.

This is a beautifully written story that will pull you in from page one and keep you up late and tuning the pages.

Dr Julia Mackenzie is now happily running the small clinic on the St Bryar estate after she is widowed eighteen months before she has started a new life with her 13 year old twins and is feeling very comfortable and has made many friends on the estate but things are all about to change for Julia as the Duke in waiting is coming home and her future is not so certain so she is rather shocked at their first meeting and the spark it started.

Dr Oliver Wyatt has returned home with big decisions to make and things are not made any easier when he learns of his mentors illness and his meeting with the new Doctor and the guilt that he has carried for many years which always gets stronger when he is home on a visit but these decisions must be made and as he really has no intentions of staying he wants to get back to his life with the Red Cross as a trauma Doctor.

This is an absolute joy to read a story that will have you smiling and crying the banter between Julia and Oliver is fabulous and the emotion that is shown by them both as they open up to each other and learn so much about each other and themselves brings them to such a beautiful HEA that will keep you turning the pages. The characters are so real they are almost jumping of the pages, this is a story that I highly recommend.

Julia and Oliver fall (hahah) instantly for each other! Things pop and crackle and we're off! I really enjoyed this medical romance, i'm pretty sure it's my first from Annie O'Neil

A fantastic story which is full of brilliant dialogue, lots of action and drama and the author very cleverly written a plot that had me caught well up in it and I was flicking pages as fast as my eyes could take me! The hero Oliver and heroine Julia are fab match and I really liked how Julia was captured as such a normal realistic person with teenage twins. It's not often written about in books of this genre and really really I liked the addition of them. Sometimes kids are a distraction but not in this case. I loved the build up of the romance and I loved the medical themes bought to the story. I really invested in Julia's feelings and I really enjoyed the unique story of Oliver.

A brilliant Medical which I will be reading again.

The two are thrown together from the start when Julia is trying to earn funds to keep the clinic going.

Yes, that is how it all begins! That is where Dr Julia and Dr Oliver meet.

The first eye locks and sparks everywhere. What they find out later is that they are on the opposite sides of a battlefield. But being who they are, they are always out there for each other and all the people of the little village that they both call home.

Though they are both passionate about what they do, they believe their paths to be so different as not to accommodate a future it.

Is that so? Or will love help them see right?

Loved the time spent in reading this one

Oliver Wyatt came home with no intention to settle down and become the laird. He got the surprise he was not expecting. He found Dr. Julia MacKenzie and she was running the small cottage medical clinic with not much help. Julie was tough, independent and dedicated to her children and 100% to her job. Oliver has been away doing medical work across the country!

When Oliver found that Dr. Carny was dying of cancer and that was hard to take. Dr. Carny had mentored Oliver and so his coming home brought back so many memories. These were his people, they depended on him and he was off doing some clinic work in other parts of the world.
When Oliver met Julia he fell for her instantly. There were so many questions like would he stay and take the title of Duke of Breckenshire or leave his land again. Julia knows she wants to St. Bryar’s Clinic from closing and does anything from filling out forms to organizing way to earn extra money to make improvements.

Both Oliver and Julia are very passionate about what they do and yet in different parts of the country and need to discover that they can make it work.

Losing your best friend always has an impact on anyone. No matter if you are the toughest soldier in the world , your best friend not being there will always hit you. So naturally ex-army medic Ryan Matthews uses his job of helping to bring new life into the world to escape the memories from the time he lost his best friend in Iraq.

But when comes across his best friend's wife, alone and pregnant is whole world is turned upside down. It's the shocker he never saw coming and even worse he can't seem to stop himself from falling for her.

He is torn between seeing his best friend alive again through the eyes of his child and finding love in the arms of the woman who belonged to his best friend.

His Best Friend's Baby (Midwives On-Call #6)This was a truly heartbreaking read. I was just as torn as Ryan, I wanted him to find a way to move forward from his friend's death but I will admit it was a little creepy to think that he would be ending up with his best friend's woman, I mean personally I don't think I would be able to kiss someone knowing that once before they belonged to my best friend , who sadly is no longer there.

Aside from that little annoying creepy feeling, I found this read really delightful. And after chapter 5 I was even able to get rid of the creepy feeling and see exactly what the author was getting at, the truly beautiful message of love can and will always be found in the least expected forms, of course it's going to feel wrong at first but it's lives way ( or in this case a friend from heaven) of telling us that it was meant to be and the person in heaven is the one that is no longer sad but happy.

A truly beautiful and emotional read that will leave you breathless, heartbroken and truly in awe of the miracle of life and just exactly who wonderful things can sometimes work out if you dare to risk it all.

Years ago at her brother’s wedding, champagne fueled Katy kissed her brothers best friend Alec Armstrong.  Now, in the present, they face each other again.  Katy is an intern at a large and busy hospital where Alec (who is a surgeon) is going to be her teacher.   A strict code of ethics forbids Katy and Alec acting on the attraction that they both feel  and the lines become blurred.  It’s hard to ignore their long history and their memories of growing up together.  Unfortunately both of them could lose their careers and as it is Alec is hanging on with dare life to a secret from his past which would ruin him if their colleagues found out.
An of edge of your seat romance, packed with medical adventure, some amazing medical scenes were incorporated in Flirting with Dr Off Limits, it really helped set the scene and everything was right there playing out in my imagination clear as day!   Amid all the drama Alec and Katy face the impossible and the wrath of her brother.  I thoroughly enjoyed this story, I think it’s another winner from Robin Gianna and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves medical romance or Greys Anatomy ;)

Everyone knows that when it comes to flirting with the forbidden , it's playing with fire , but more importantly you that you shouldn't do it at all, but it's so much fun and so addicting that stopping is hard, so really hard.

For intern Dr. Katy Pappas, seeing the very delectable surgeon Alec Armstrong again is pure sweet torture! He rejected her after their sinfully delicious kiss years earlier, but boy oh boy does the man still send her into a tizzle! She still wants him and she wants him bad!

Alec is captivated by Katy, she's all grown up and temps him into sinful thoughts, but she's also his best friend's sister, a colleague and his student and therefore definitely off limits. He won't risk their careers with muddling the waters, but as we all know resistance is futile when it comes to something that feels so very right,

Robyn Gianna is fast becoming a author that wows with amazing realistic characters and memorable plots, this time I again got the wow characters and the amazing plot but the difference between this book and her previous reads ? This time she brought her A game and totally wowed me into a state of speechlessness.

I was entranced, transfixed, romanticized and completely blown away.  I adored each and every moment of this read.

The passion, the resistance, the drama and the sweet and soul for-filling ending, it was all simply perfect. Great twits and turns that kept it interesting and wonderful best of all it was a nice, quick easy read.

Noting felt dragged out, yes there is a bit of a back and forth issue but in most reads of similar genres the author did not let the back and forth resistance get in the way of the flow of romance, great job Robin.

I am taking away a message of life has all kinds of little up's and down's generated into the everyday life  and designed to make us fall from our neatly erected throne but falling is not always as bad as it seems. So when you feel yourself being pushed it's important to know when to let go and when to try and hang on, the trick is to of course to make sure to make the right choice, how you may ask will you know, well here's some advise chose your goals and then take the decision.

I recommend this read for all fans of medical romance reads, it was fun, easy to read, lighthearted and had just the right amount of emotion to let you know drama can always be overcome.

"Flirting with Dr. Off-Limits" by Robin Gianna is a Medical Romance. Dr. Katherine (Katy) Pappas is a surgical intern. Dr. Alec Armstrong is her resident adviser and her brother Nick's best friend. They grew up together, but after he’d rejected passionate kiss when from her in the past things were not the same between them. Now Katy still has the hots for Alec but he is now her teacher and that is frowned upon for ethical reasons.

Alec is "off limits" for more than one reason but grown up Katy is doing a number on his libido, and now she is also "off limits. Will they fight this attraction between each other or take it to the next level? This is a great read, and I recommend it if you love romance. If you love Medical romances I highly recommend reading this.

I seriously wish I had a hard copy of this book. I loved it that much!

Dr Katherine Pappas had a huge crush on her brother's best friend who treated her as if she was part of the group and not someone unwelcome when she followed the duo everywhere and conducted science experiments with them. But the girl's got a brain and knows when to stop making her life hell after a man who wants nothing to do with you.

The problem? The man does want her in his life but Dr Alec Armstrong does not know how to make that happen. Being Katy's teacher at the teaching hospital she is interning at added to the fact that she is his best friend's kid sister makes him all kinds of ...(use anyone word you like because it is he thinking that and not me).

In all the hustle of the hospital life, the resolution to stay away from each other and not think of each other gets lost and they do end up together. The sparks flying between are just too strong. Love does that.

Now the question is, will they let all that lie dormant or do something about it? Are they strong enough to brave the gossip that they fear might run rampant or are they cowards? I leave you to read and find out for yourself.

This is the second book that I have read by Robin Gianna and I have loved them both.
