This is such a beautiful story to read so caring loving and to see how love can grow from a spark and the need to help one another and the joy that a child will bring this is a story that will pull you in from the first page and will have you smiling.

Sara Marcum is an only child who grew up with her father, her mother left her when she was young and has left her with a couple of fears but Sara is a nurse and just such a caring beautiful person she has done so much to help friends and is very close to her father. So when a friend asks her to help out a Doctor and become a nanny for a short time Sara reluctantly says yes being with a baby brings back so many memories for her she pulls out the strength needed and arrives at this huge house and although there is a strong spark their first meeting does not go well.

Dr Grant Smyth has been cheated by his father and ex-girlfriend but when they are killed in a car accident he steps up to take on the care of his little half sister Lily and he needs help this is where nanny Sara Marcum steps in but Grant is a busy transplant surgeon and there are lots of sparks at their first meeting but Sara shows strength and stands up to him this might be a temporary job for Sara but when Grant needs a wife to get custody of Lily things are going to change drastically for both of them.

So Grant offers to help Sara and her father out in exchange for a marriage on paper both are really caring loving people and this starts a journey to such a wonderful HEA I loved this story the joy that they bring to each other and Lily and to see so many people smiling of course no journey is without a few problems and I loved the strength and courage that is shown and the true deep love that comes from making sure that a baby has a home and is loved. I highly recommend this one it is a beautiful emotional journey, MS Carlisle never disappoints.

Sara Marcum agrees to marry Doctor Grant Smythe so that he can gain custody of his half-sister. But would Grant be able to persuade Sara to become his wife for real when he came to know her well?

And would Sara agree?

I read MARRIED FOR THE BOSS’S BABY in one sitting and loved the emotions, drama and the tension in this story. Author Susan Carlisle once again brought this amazing tale on the pages which would hook her readers in and keep them hooked till the last pages.

Highly recommended for all readers of medical romance.

Married for the Boss’s Baby by Susan Carlisle is a well-written, super fun, super sexy story where instant attraction between the hero and heroine creates the setup for a sizzling romance. You will find this story quite exciting from page one. It is guaranteed to evoke a sigh once or twice as the characters intermingle and get closer!

Dr Grant Smyth’s world has just become more tension filled than ever. With the death of his father and ex-girlfriend, Grant is now tasked with caring for the infant child they left behind: his infant half-sister. Grant’s life is already hectic at the hospital where he is a transplant surgeon. How can he singlehandedly care for a baby and carry out his duties as a surgeon at the same time? Impossible! The only thing left for him to do is hire a nanny…someone to care for little Lily. In walks Sara Marcum into his life like a breath of fresh air, a ray of sunshine. Sara is fantastic with Lily but beneath her charming outer persona is a woman broken up inside. Bonding with Lily brings back memories of her past. However, having Grant around and taking care of Lily makes her life easier. And so a romance is born where two people help each other heal and find happiness even when the horizon appears bleak and distant.

Grant is a surgeon who's last relationship turned to custard when his girlfriend left him for his father and they had a baby together. Unfortunately they died in a nasty accident and Grant is left Lily. Desperate for a nanny - a transplant patient waiting for him on the table - when Sara walks in she's a gift from god - but of course nothing is as it seems and so begins a beautiful, often hilarious, wonderfully written tale of two people who grow to love little baby Lily and as well as each other.

Faced with a custody battle Grant proposes to Sara and the two embark on a temporary married life journey. As each day passes Sara finds it harder to accept one day she will walk away. Lily is a wonderful addition to this story, she's a central character but written in such a way she's a delight to read about and she's the reason Grant and Sara are essentially "together".

I love Sara, she's like a ray of sunshine, she's funny without trying to be and she's just delightful. Grant is engaging and quite the read! With Lily thrown in and the perfect penmanship of Susan Carlisle, I adored this story.

Sara and Grant have a baby to take care of and they are both not ready. Nothing new about it. People have babies all the time and learn to take care of them.

The catch here is, the baby is Grant's baby sister (albeit a half sister) and Sara is but a nanny.

Brought together by circumstances, these two learn to love the baby as their own and strive to love themselves enough to be able to open their hearts for each other.

Not love at first sight, their feelings develop as they understand each other in a very domesticated setting. The banter, however, is to die for as it brings the characters to life.

This is a beautifully penned story that I read in one go. There was no way I was going to put it down.

I have an obsession with medical romance stories and find the Susan Carlisle fills that need.
Grant Smythe’s father didn’t pay attention to him except to steal his girlfriend and then get married to her and have a baby together. Grant has a baby sister and since his father and step mother died he is now responsible for Baby Lily. Grant is also a successful surgeon and has his own apartment but moves into his father’s house to ensure that he has everything Lily needs. 
Grant has been advised by his lawyer that he would stand a better chance at getting Lily if he was married since a judge prefers a married couple. Otherwise he can give her a wonderful lifestyle but since Evelyn’s (his step mother) aunt and uncle wants to take her and Grant certainly does not want that. His sister should stay with him. 
Sara Marcum the new nanny is there and Grant can get back to work. After an adjustment and Sara’s help Grant starts to be more and more comfortable taking care of Lily. Not only is Grant in the medical field but Sara is also. 
What will happen when Grant proposes a marriage in name only and for business of retaining his sister only? Will Sara go along with this and what will her father think of her? Will Sara say yes which not only offers her an end to some financial issues that are going on, a place for her father and perhaps an end to Sara’s regret for something in her past? You will not be disappointed in the answers and in this wonderful story. 
This was one book that I had to read almost from start to finish in one sitting as it peaked my interest from the start.

"Married For The Boss's Baby" by Susan Carlisle is a great medical romance that had me gripped from the very beginning. Dr. Grant Smythe is now legal guardian to his little sister after his father and stepmother die in an accident. There's a couple of problems with this; first, he is a busy Dr. because he's head of the transplant team, and second, the stepmother used to be his girlfriend. Grant is looking for a Nanny and Sara Marcum is there to fill the job. There are some problems that pop up, since life can not be at all simple for Grant, in that his stepmother's family want to raise his sister. So, Grant does the only thing he can....he proposes marriage to the nanny.

HIS BEST FRIEND’S BABY by author Susan Carlisle is a Mills & Boon and Harlequin Medical Romance series release for June 2015.

Phoebe was pregnant and alone in the world. So she decided to go and meet ex-army medic Ryan Matthews, who was her dead husband’s best friend. Would Ryan be happy to see her? After all, she is a part of his life that he left behind to move forward. 

Phoebe brought back bitter memories for Ryan. Could he help her and help himself in the process? Could they move from the past grief and forge a way forward? Ryan felt an attraction for Phoebe, could he open up his heart for Phoebe and her baby?

HIS BEST FRIEND’S BABY is a well-written romance amid the medical drama. It was an emotionally uplifting story. Author Susan Carlisle’s story-telling makes the characters come alive on the pages and the reader is personally involved in their happiness and craves the resolution as deeply as they do. This is a story about recovering from past guilt and grief and moving forward. The premise was wonderful and story moved along very fast.

I loved this story and highly recommend it.

 This is a story that I loved from the first page Phoebe is pregnant and alone after her husband is killed in action she has no one and although strong and she has a good job as a primary school teacher as she is getting to the end of her pregnancy she needs someone and one of the last letters that she received from her husband was about his best friend Ryan Matthews who is now living in Melbourne and working as a midwife at the hospital that Phoebe is going to have her baby at. But Ryan has been through so much firstly growing up as a foster child in Texas and then his years in war zones he is not ready to be there for someone but as they get to slowly know each other the pull between them gets stronger.

This really is such a beautiful and emotional story that will have you smiling as both Ryan and Phoebe open up to each other and see each other in a different light their journey to a HEA is one that will keep you up late it is a story that you will read in one sitting beautifully written with all of the characters so real and full of life. I am loving this Midwives On-Call series and I highly recommend this one to you don't miss it.

I loved this one and highly recommend it.

Losing your best friend always has an impact on anyone. No matter if you are the toughest soldier in the world , your best friend not being there will always hit you. So naturally ex-army medic Ryan Matthews uses his job of helping to bring new life into the world to escape the memories from the time he lost his best friend in Iraq.

But when comes across his best friend's wife, alone and pregnant is whole world is turned upside down. It's the shocker he never saw coming and even worse he can't seem to stop himself from falling for her.

He is torn between seeing his best friend alive again through the eyes of his child and finding love in the arms of the woman who belonged to his best friend.

This was a truly heartbreaking read. I was just as torn as Ryan, I wanted him to find a way to move forward from his friend's death but I will admit it was a little creepy to think that he would be ending up with his best friend's woman, I mean personally I don't think I would be able to kiss someone knowing that once before they belonged to my best friend , who sadly is no longer there.

Aside from that little annoying creepy feeling, I found this read really delightful. And after chapter 5 I was even able to get rid of the creepy feeling and see exactly what the author was getting at, the truly beautiful message of love can and will always be found in the least expected forms, of course it's going to feel wrong at first but it's lives way ( or in this case a friend from heaven) of telling us that it was meant to be and the person in heaven is the one that is no longer sad but happy.

A truly beautiful and emotional read that will leave you breathless, heartbroken and truly in awe of the miracle of life and just exactly who wonderful things can sometimes work out if you dare to risk it all.

This is such a beautiful story filled with emotion desire and is so heart-warming firstly can I say how much I loved the setting Alabama and learning about Mardi Gras and the traditions and gumbo and king cake such great food.
Dr Mark Clayborn never wanted to move back to his home town Mobile Alabama there are way too many demons there but when his father has a stoke he needs to move back to be close to him it has been a long time since he has been home but he has a good job and is steering clear of his friend Mike and with the parades going on in town he is helping with medi tents and this is where he meets Laura Jo Akins who has lived in this town all of her life but Laura Jo has demons that she needs to overcome as well she is a single mother and for so long now her only focus as been her daughter Allie her job and helping run the shelter for abandoned mothers she is estranged from her parents and other than her best friend Marsha she sticks to herself but she is a very caring person. Laura Jo is just what Mark needs and Mark is what Laura Jo needs they are perfect for each other as they get closer and open up to each other and both overcome their demons you will need tissues when Mark reconciles with Mike and such happy smiles when Laura Jo sees her parents. This is a story that will have you smiling and turning the pages it is beautifully written sensual and the characters are so real and lovable and I highly recommend this one.

We all know , that when we get the perfect plan in our minds , that it all plays out perfectly, in our minds that is, never in real life because let's face it there is always something or someone that puts a spanner in the works.

This is exactly what Kelsey Davies faces, she is happy with her job as a nutritionist but she wants to leave it all behind and start a new life, make the past go away. But then smoldering make my knees go weak Dr Jordan King arrives back in town.

And Kelsey falls in love with him all over again, but after uncovering the truth that links him to their painful past will she still be able to let him be the ruler of her heart?

I could not put this read down for even one minute! From the first page the author drew me into this absolutely stunning story of "strangers" meet again , I was completely entranced with the manner the author let the past mistakes of teenagers spring forth into a beautiful tale of love.

And the story of the past was a real humdinger, did not see half of it coming, excellent job Susan! The characters were all really well written with insightful views on life and of course those secrets from the past shaped them into the type of characters that simply cannot be ignored, one simply has to get in there and find out more!

I am taking away a message of the past is the past, we all make mistakes and for the most part there is nothing we can do to try and fix it. But there is a always the number one golden rule, change. We are all capable of change and when we do the possibilities are endless, and the past can simply be just that , because when we change for the better, tomorrow looks a whole lot brighter!

I recommend this read for all fans of romance from the past reads, it was sensual and heartwarming.

Nurse China Davies had a dysfunctional childhood and she kept hiding behind a cheerful façade, so when adrenaline junkie and fun loving doctor, Payton Jenkins arrived in the sleepy town, she was not pleased with his show-off ways.

But surely there was more to this Payton than what met the eye? Why was he keen to experience all the extreme adventures? Could China teach him to stop and smell the roses along the way? And would Payton be able to bring her from behind her façade and face the reality?

THE DOCTOR WHO MADE HER LOVE AGAIN is about how a cancer survivor looks at his life. It will keep the reader on the edge trying to get to the happy ever after with China and Payton. Readers would be inspired by reading how Payton and China faced and then overcame their hardships in life.

Everyone knows that we all love to be in control of our own lives, but when we lose that control the world seems out of balance and we fight to get that control back no matter what.

But what if we think we need the control back and then suddenly the control doesn't look all that great?

This what the heroine, China Davis is facing , she is really happy, her family is a big old mess but still she is as happy as can be, because she is in control of her own life and that's what is most important.

But then hotshot Doc Payton Jenkins arrives on the scene and her control is seriously tested, she wants to hold onto control but the more she tries the more she loses her grip. And Payton,  well he escaped death once and he is determined to life each day to the fullest and China Davis is on his radar and indulging in the pleasures she hides is his number one priority, but he has to get her to let go of that blasting control first and he knows just the way to do it.

I fell in love with this author's books not long ago and let me tell you, she knows how to take any reader on an emotional ride of romance, sadness and passion. I adored the way the author took me into the mind of how a survivor deals with the aftermath, the worry, the tension of will it happen again, the " this is the time I need to get up and get out and live my life " element was beautifully portrayed.

Of course this being a medical romance read , I bawled my eyes out, especially for Payton, the poor man certainly had found his new zest for life but after so much heartache it will tear at any reader's heartstrings and make you want get up and go out and find adventure even if you have never come close to death ever before.

China was a really neat character , I laughed so hard at her attempt to keep control , and I saw myself through her, I love being in control but even I know there comes a time in life where being in control is simply not possible and you need to loosen the strings just a little in order to gain a step in the right direction. Reading about how the author let's China fall from her little always in control pedestal was really entertaining.

I am taking away a message of life is short and when you have the chance to live, grab hold of it with both hands , always seek adventure because tomorrow might never come. And most importantly never try to control everything in life, if you do you will never experience the joy of being in wonder and awe, and things that can simply materialize out of nowhere, let go and see what happens!

I recommend this read for all fans of medical romance reads, it's a stunning story of a second chance in life and that special magic of falling in love and letting the unexpected guide you to the road of happiness.

The Rebel Doc Who Stole Her Heart by Susan Carlisle

Everyone has an icy facade they use every now and then to hide their true feelings and issues they might be dealing with at that particular moment. But sometimes the issues are far worse than you may think and this causes a person to keep the icy facade firmly in place at all times.

But life has a strange and wonderful way of bringing someone into our lives, be it a child or a lover, no matter the person will be the one that takes the time to push hard enough to crack your mask and make you feel alive again.

In the newest read from Susan Carlisle this is what happens for ice queen heart surgeon Michelle. She is always in control and in charge of her life, until maverick I'll-charm-my-way-into-you-life Ty walks into her life and tuns her dull and gloomy world into a burst of color she never saw coming.

But Ty is the spread the love and joy then be on my way kind of hero, and Michelle is not so sure she can try to make him stay.

I loved this read. It was fun and emotional, well plotted and the author held my attention. I liked how the author let the character of Ty slowly but surely become the rescued instead of it just being about the heroine being rescued.

Both characters get to discover more about themselves and how they can repair each other. Some reads attempt to make the book about both characters being rescued by each other but fall hopelessly flat in the sense where the focus is more on the one character than on both and in the end it is all about just him or her finding a way through the maze of despair and not about both.

Susan Carlisle has a brilliant way of always ensuring there is loads and loads of fire between her characters and this book was no different. The sparks between the characters were so intense it was as if I could watch it all unfold in-front of me as if in a play was being preformed, only this was way better than any play ever will be!

I'm taking away a message of running away from your problems is never the answer, hiding behind them is not either. Whether you run or hide, the problems will always be there unless you deal with them upfront and just get it out of the way, then and only then will you be able to get on with life.

He was a rebel. No rules worked with him. Could Michelle let herself go with it, and fall for him? But he was bound to leave, as he never stayed at one place. Would he take Michelle’s heart with him when he goes?

THE REBEL DOC WHO STOLE HER HEART is a heartwarming tale of two opposites falling for each other. I loved the medical drama among all the shimmering emotions. Author Susan Carlisle has a way with words which is incomparable.

Snowbound with Dr Delectable by Susan Carlisle

There are so many romance books out there that focus on the life after and during war of good old fashioned war-hero hotties! And I do love my war hero's very much, but it really does not happen a lot that I find a book that focuses on war but instead of a hero we find a war heroine.

In the new read from Susan Carlisle she takes her readers on a journey of life after war from a war heroine's side, and shows just how tough it is to try and bounce back from what is seen over on the other side.

The read tells of Dr Bailey Walker and how she needs to learn to face her fears when meeting the man of her dreams too-hot-too-handle Kyle Campbell.  She knows he is everything she needs to avoid this Christmas but when they get close enough to touch the heat bubbles to the top faster than you can say "Ready,set GO!"

The main characters of Kyle and Bailey were both super excellent and I truly enjoyed the heat between them and I found their compassion towards each other simply wonderful.

The author did a magnificent job at guiding me as reader through the terror Bailey faces. The descriptions of how she reacts to noise and the true fear she endures. I particularly loved that Kyle himself also has some issues of fear he needs to face to be able to get back out there.

It made the two main characters so much alike and I found myself entranced with wanting to keep reading to see how they will help each other.

The backdrop settings were a little bit of excitement and a lot of Christmas magic! The dialogue was one of those that I always find emotional but not so much to the point where you feel your heart is breaking but rather one that makes you truly live the feelings and experiences of the characters, urging you on to keep rooting for them as you know the end will be one of the most magical endings ever,and so worth it.

I am taking away a message that fears can be overcome when you are able to take a moment and look at the people that have come into your life, there is always a reason for them showing up when you did not want anyone near.

I recommend this read for all fans of Christmas romance reads, sensual, sweet and very sexy!

Dr Kyle Campbell doesn’t want to be on the slopes but due to unforeseen circumstance, he had to stand in for his colleague as volunteer for a week. For patrolling the skiing slopes. And the patrol head, Baylie Walker certainly didn’t want him there. Because sparks flew at their first meeting. They rubbed each other the wrong way, or maybe it was the right way?

Because they ended up sharing more than the patrolling job between them. Would their passion make them forget their past and allow them to move on?

SNOWBOUND WITH DR DELECTABLE was a fast paced, moving, uplifting and feel good romance. Packed with witty dialogue, intense emotion and sizzling love scenes. A poignant story about letting go of the past and seizing the day. The author Susan Carlisle took us on a skiing journey with her characters. The atmospheric details were realistically depicted amid all the medical drama.

The fourth book The Wallflower's Secret by Susan Carlisle told of Ryan and Lucy and how inner beauty is what really counts and when secrets are revealed they are sometimes the life altering moments we need to find our happiness.

The fifth book Flirting with Danger by Tina Beckett told of Brad and Chloe, and how years of attraction finally explode into a dangerous passion, but lust is one thing finally learning how to love is a complete different matter, handing over the key to your heart is the final step to happiness

The sixth book Tempting Nurse Scarlet by Wendy S. Marcus told of adoption and how it can change your life when revealed or trying to simply deal with it, and how it can effect your final personality in life, how you handle those around you or face off when a challenge hits your road to happiness. It also showed how single parenthood can be one of the hardest and toughest life challenges life has to offer.

The seventh book Making the surgeon smile by Lynne Marshall told how loosing the perfect family you always wanted can erect walls that takes years to break down , but when finally broken down and it all threatens s to be taken away again how are you meant to survive, the answer love, trust and believing you deserve a second chance.

In the eighth book An Explosive Reunion by Alison Roberts the story of Alex and Layla showed that past hurt can keep you from having a lonely future and that trusting someone again is sometimes the only way to find out if the person is indeed real and willing to risk it all to be with you.

I highly recommend this series for lovers of medical drama romance reads. Everyone deserves a chance at happiness and sometimes you need to take the risk and put your heart out there you might just be very pleasantly surprised. And this series showed the message perfectly whist also showing medical staff are also human and sometimes face their own brand of demons inside and outside the doors of emergency, and that the images they uphold are the ones that need to be broken down in the name of love, for only then will the true person inside shine through.

NYC Angels: The Wallflower's Secret by Susan Carlisle

We all have our days when we feel like wallflowers, we can try dressing up or getting new shoes no matter what it does not work, but sometimes it does! But for some woman this is a constant everyday battle.

When the right man comes along you don't need any of the fancy clothes of hairdo's for the man will have you so tangled up you will be forgetting all about being a wallflower and instead blossom into a beautiful woman that you have been all along but could never see.

However if you have built a wall around your heart the right man will need to do much more than just give you compliments, in order to break through the ice.

In the fourth book of the new Mills and Boon NYC Angles series we meet Lucy, she solves others problems but she can not solve her own insecurities, and having Ryan drool over her is not helping one bit.

I loved, loved, loved the character of Ryan. Trust me ladies this is the type of man that will be able to boost the confidence of any woman, even if your covered in dirt, you make-up is all messed up and your looking like a drowned rat, this man will make you feel like you just stepped off the red carpet!

Lucy on the other hand was a bit frustrating as inner beauty if what really counts, and I did get to a point where I was ready to give her a good slap for not seeing what Ryan was telling her to be true.

But as the author lays out more of the reasoning behind Lucy's deepest secret and the entire picture comes into view, I very soon got a keen liking in Lucy and was soon rooting for her to find her groove!

The backdrop settings were exciting and very sexy. The dialogue was very clever as the author lets her character's fun and flirty side speak to me as reader drawing attention away from the true emotional turmoil Lucy is facing, but also at the same time reminding me that sometimes the right person can bring out the best in you when your not looking.

I highly recommend this read for romance fans all over the world. You will be taken on a journey of the perfect man setting free a "pot-plant" trapped inside a "rose".

Meet Ryan O'Doherty, the son of a New York Irish policeman.  He's never lived anywhere but Brooklyn and he's a neurosurgeon.  Meet Lucy, a hospital family counsellor.  Ryan and Lucy are teamed up to work together.  Can the brash New Yorker and the gentle southern belle hit it off?  The trouble is, Lucy's not as soft spoken as she looks.  She can turn into a tigress if someone pushes her buttons.

As Ryan and Lucy work together and get to know each other, Ryan comes to know that Lucy's nursing a terribhle secret.  Something which has left her feeling robbed and bereft and has almost ruined her relationship with her only sister.  So what's that secret?  Will Ryan be able to discover what it is and help Lucy to over come it?

This emotional love story kept me riveted.  A truly satisfying, emotional read.  Susan Carlisle's work is like that.  Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

The story also provides a fascinating insight into the hospital counselling process in a busy hospital environment.  Fascinating.

Lucy Edwards hides her pain and her heart under wraps. Then she meets neurosurgeon, Ryan O’Doherty and they are roped to work together. Will she unwrap her heart and her feelings for Ryan?

What about Ryan? He is also hiding his own pain, will he let Lucy in his heart and life for keeps?

Susan Carlisle does a great job of showing how people lie to themselves to save their feelings and soothe their egos. Both Lucy and Ryan have plenty of emotional baggage with their names on it. How will they get past all their secrets and guilt?

Shimmering with breathtaking romance amid the medical drama, spectacular emotional punch, a believable conflict and vivid atmospheric details THE WALLFLOWER’S SECRET is sure to thrill medical romance readers.

If The Wallflower's Secret was a song it would be a power ballad.  A warm story which slowly builds into a strong, loud and emotive tale that packs a punch.  Love and heartache is explored in the high-pressured  pediatrics environment where Lucy, a counsellor, is assigned to work with pediatric neurosurgeon Ryan O'Doherty.

Lucy, new to NYC and to Angels follows Ryan from patient to patient, offering a human face and heart to the parents of Ryan's patients, helping them emotionally through every procedure.  A stark contrast to Ryan's clinical approach.    Lucy tries to go about her daily business ignoring the heartache that doesn't disappear  or can't be forgotten about while she's working with kids.

Ryan who also has his own walls up notices Lucy, she's clearly attractive but does all she can to be not noticed.  She unwittingly catches Ryan's attention when she has a right go at him for his clinical and standoffish approach to his patients parents.  Ryan's curiosity is sparked.  It's not long before he learns what's behind her sad eyes.  As much as he tries to fight his natural instinct to not care about anyone else, for the first time in a long time, there's something about Lucy that makes him want to care again.

Like my power ballad analogy Lucy and Ryan circle each other slowly before being drawn together into a whirlpool of emotion and realism of each others past.  Susan Carlisle had Lucy and Ryan's individual personalities and history, combined with their high-pressured environment, take me on a deep and emotionally challenging journey as a reader, which powered up into an emotive and solid read as I turned each page.  A good power ballad is expressive and emotional, I think this sums up The Wallflower's Secret perfectly..

NYC Angels: A fantastic series about the lives and loves of the staff at Angel Mendez Children's Hospital.  The Wallflower's Secret is a fantastic addition to this must-read series.  In my opinion Susan Carlisle has written another winning medical romance and is a firm favourite of mine for this genre.  I would highly recommended The Wallflower's Secret to all Medical Romance Fans; lovers of mini-series's and anyone who loves a strong, well built story which has substance and has two well written and believable characters like Lucy and Ryan.

I also LOVE the covers!

Hot-Shot Doc Comes to Town by Susan Carlisle

Absolutely adored this book! Seriously could not stop reading and ended up reading it in one sitting. The story dealt with pass emotions keeping the characters captive in their current lives each too afraid to let go and find happiness.

But in true romance style this author took the emotional wrecks and brought them together with overwhelming emotion, passionate romance and a lesson of life that will stay with me for a long time.

Both the characters of Taylor and Shelby had their own up's and down's from life that have lead them to believe being alone and just focusing on work is the best option to stay away from hurt and from getting into trouble.

The both also are set in their own ways but with secrets from their past making it 's way into the light so to speak the book got more and more compelling and a real page turner.

The backdrop setting of the small town of Benton was perfect in to may ways,it added to the medical aspect of how medical emergencies in a small town can impact the lives of many when the right person of experience is not around. And how traumatic events even for those trained to deal with it can on the surface seem like they are just doing their jobs but behind the scenes it involves strong overpowering emotions of distress.

The author did a stunning job of using secondary characters to draw the two main characters together. The dialogue was at times fun and flirty but also got really serious which as reader reminded me that these situations can arise in real life just as quick and easy as the author can pen them down.

The entire read was a romantic passionate lesson of love and life happening in a small town for two Dr's whom finally heal each other's broken hearts.

Susan,I cannot wait for your next one!

HOT-SHOT DOC COMES TO TOWN by author Susan Carlisle is a Harlequin Mills & Boon Medical Romance release for January 2013.

She continued to serve the town with medical help after her husband died. It was their dream and she wanted to continue doing it. But when city doctor Taylor Stiles comes to town, Shelby was thrown in a quandary.

She was drawn toward Taylor yet she tried to keep her distance.

Would Shelby be able to ignore the simmering awareness just below the surface? For how long? After all Taylor would be going back to the big city, wouldn’t he?

And was Taylor ready to give Shelby what she needs? After all he has sworn never to have a home or a family!

HOT-SHOT DOC COMES TO TOWN is a lively contemporary medical romance with a strong heroine you will love and want to cherish and a gorgeous bad boy hero you are sure to swoon over. Susan Carlisle brings to live this sparkling tale of unexpected encounters which is warmly poignant and an engrossing romance.

Highly recommended.

This medical romance from Susan Carlisle really resonated with me.  Not for any personal reason, but because I know from what I’ve seen in life that falling in love and romancing someone nice is wonderful – but sometimes, it takes more than just a  little adjustment or two  to accommodate a lover as a personal fixture in you actual existence as opposed to a diversion..  This is exactly the problem which Dr Taylor Styles and Dr Shelby Wayne find themselves encountering when they meet and fall in love.  She, Dr Shelby,  runs a clinic in a small town community – the place where she and her late husband had dreamed of raising a family.  Running that clinic in her darkest hours of loss gave her a sense of purpose which nothing else could.  She feels strongly attached now and can’t dream of walking away.  But walking away from small town life is exactly what he, Dr Taylor, wants to do.  He had a particularly dark childhood in a small town and he never, ever wants to go back there again.  He wants to leave the claustrophobic community behind and remain with the bright lights in the big city.

Yet the small community draws him in and he become a part of their lives, confiding in him their joys and sorrows, their issues and problems.  He begins to realize that he may not dislike life in a small town  a much as he thought it would.  For her part, she has to learn to detach a little from the clinic at the heart of the  local community and discover  herself.  In other words, get a life.

So how do each of these special people find the middle ground?  You’d have to read this book to find out.  But I promise you, it will be worth it.  Susan Carlisle's writing brought this story vividly alive and the characters were as real to me as the person sitting beside me as I was reading.

An enjoyable, emotional read with a satisfying and credible conclusion.
