His Pregnant Royal Bride by Amy Ruttan (Royal Spring Babies)

Review by Adel | 5 Stars

I loved His Pregnant Royal Bride by Amy Ruttan. Nurse Shay Labadie and Dr. Dante Affini share one passionate night together. Now four months later, Shay takes a job at Dante’s hospital in Italy to tell him the happy news. Little did she know that he is going to expect her to marry him, not to mention he is Italian royalty!

This is a great story, the characters have real chemistry, and they are both well rounded and have emotional depth. The story flowed beautifully and I highly recommend it to any romance lover.

A wonderful one night stand leads to Shay beoming pregnant. Taking up a post in Venice where the baby's father is a surgeon, Shay informs Dante of the consequences of their unforgettable night. Having no clue who Dante really is or how their baby can save his heritage, Shay agrees to a marriage of convenience.

I really liked the location of the story and the medical drama's including Shay's. I liked the history of Shay and Dante's backgrounds and I really liked learning about who Shay works for and I loved the low build to the path of love.

A wonderful solid and heartwarming tale which is part one and Dante's brother and Shay's friend who are part two looks just as captivating. This is a medical romance with a touch more!

One night turns into a lifetime! I had a hard time liking Dante even though I could understand what led him to be standoffish. I would have liked a little more of the guy that she met at the conference that would have led to more warmth and connection between them, but I did enjoy the story and following them on their journey.

Nurse Shay Labadie was only expecting one night of fun with Doctor Dante Affini on the last day of the conference they both attended, but a few months later, she realized she was pregnant. When she heads to Italy to tell him, she's not expecting anything from him ... least of all a marriage proposal!

Dante shocks her with his news that he's a Prince and that he wants her to marry him so he can take care of her and the baby. She's not big on trusting the happily ever after, but she's willing to try for their baby's sake.

"His Pregnant Royal Bride" by Amy Ruttan was one of those books that once I picked it up I didn't want to put down. Nurse Shay Labadie wanted one night of passion with Doctor Dante Affini on the last day of the conference they both attended with no strings attached, but a few months later she found out she there was a lasting impression from their lovemaking. Finding herself pregnant she heads to Italy to tell Dante the news and doesn't expect anything in return. To her surprise he proposes.

Shay Labadie decides it can't hurt to have a night of fun with Doctor Dante Affini its the last day of the conference they are attending and she probably won't see him again.  Best laid plans don't always work out like you figure and she finds out she is pregnant.  Knowing she must tell him she heads to Italy not wanting anything except to tell him about the baby.  Surprise he asks her to marry him and also lets her know he is a prince.  She has big trust issues but for the love of her unborn child she will try.  Ms. Ruttan keeps you involved in this story to see how these two will find their HEA and she always delivers.

HIS PREGNANTROYAL BRIDE by author Amy Ruttan is a March 2017 release by Harlequin Medical Romance series.

Nurse Shay Labadie had one passionate night with Dr. Dante Affini, yet it had consequences. Now she was pregnant and in Italy to let Dante know.
But what she herself didn’t know was that Dante was also a prince and there were paparazzi after him all the time.

Dante’s way of saving Shay from the tabloids was for them to get married. Would Shay agree to a marriage of convenience? She wanted a man to love her for herself not for the baby she carried. Could this marriage turn out to be her happy-ever-after?

HIS PREGNANTROYAL BRIDE is set in Venice. I felt as I was there with Dante and Shay. I was hooked in the story as a reader until the very last page. This story had all the drama of a medical romance and a royal romance.

Highly recommended for all readers of medical romance.

Perfect Rivals by Amy Ruttan

Review by TashNz

It must be incredibly hard to stay unique and relevant while writing a story for Harlequin Medical Romance and I think Amy Ruttan’s Perfect Rivals hits every possible nail on the head.  Imagine a fast paced action packed episode of any medical show on TV and that is what you have with Perfect Rivals, only Perfect Rivals is much, much better.

Dr Flo Chiu has an original backstory, one that I have not read before and it kept me on the edge of my seat wondering if her fears would come true.  The plot was exciting and fast paced and kept me in one spot the entire time I read it.  I received a call to collect my daughter from work for her break and I grumbled about it to myself because I didn’t want to leave Flo and Nate.

Both Flo and the hero Dr Nate King are indeed perfect rivals and I loved their conversations which added to the brilliance of the book.  I enjoyed Flo’s thoughts which were italiced through the book and I really liked the way there were two operations which were the focus of the story rather than lots of little medical dramas.
Detail is incredible but in the most un-boring way which helps set the scene and made me feel like a doctor standing on the sideline.

I recommend Perfect Rivals as a place to start for those who haven’t thought of trying the medical line before because this will be an absolute treat.  I feel anyone who already is a fan of this line will surely love Perfect Rivals as much as I did.  I give it five stars because of the characters, the plot and the fact I couldn’t put it down.

Perfect Rivals can be read as a stand alone but there is enough in this story to tease Mira’s story.

Please read this book – stat!

Well this one kept me up late last night I could not put it down till Flo and Nate had their HEA and what a beautiful one it was.

Dr Flo Chiu is head of the transplant department at The Hollywood Hills clinic and there is a good reason why Flo chose this field and she is one of the best after being a sick kid and having major surgery herself when she was a teenager Flo has decided to make a bucket list and get them done she has had one failed relationship and is not planning on another one there is too much to open up about for that but when a movie star is rushed to the clinic and his personal Doctor arrives to treat him things heat up for Flo will Dr Nate King be the reason her life changes forever.

Dr Nate King works in New York he is a transplant surgeon and after losing someone very close to him he too has thrown himself into his work and his research in the hope of being able to save more people he is gorgeous but also can be very arrogant but when he meets Flo the spark that is there and the emotions that she brings out in him shock him she makes him feel again feel alive is Flo what Nate needs or will he be to scared to change his life and become the daredevil he used to be.

What can I say this is a WOW book a story that is filled with emotions and strong characters that bring out the best in each other and make each other open up and realize that you need to live you need to love and this story brings out the goodness it was a joy to read a not put downable story that I loved from page 1. MS Ruttan never disappoints me with one of her stories they have so much meaning and emotion I did love this one and highly recommend it. It is the fourth book in The Hollywood Hills Clinic Series.

The moment I flipped open Amy Ruttan’s latest book I knew I was in for quite a ride. The author has created such a plot where her characters are always being tested and tried in the most challenging of ways. Ms. Ruttan fine tune’s the remarkable qualities of Dr. Flo Chiu and Dr. Nate King by adding bits of spark between them as they butt heads when it concerns their jobs meanwhile slowly developing the romantic angle even amidst the rivalry. This is a story true to its title. The fourth book in the Hollywood Hills Clinic series, this book will rivet you until the end. The medical bits were a learning experience, the romance, the entertainment factor, the dialogues and separate back stories kept me turning the pages. Ms. Ruttan has written a unique plot and she has done a fine job by taking the characters out of their comfort zone! Well done.

MS Ruttan pulled me in from page 1 with this story it has everything that a lover of medical romance wants in their stories two people that so badly need something good to happen in their lives and a spark that neither can deny. Carson has been hurt before with love and is not too interested in trying it again but when there is one emergency after another and ex partners arrive on the scene and they finally open up to each other this brings them even closer. This storey is moving heart-warming and emotional there is drama and a very sensual journey to such a beautiful HEA.

This is part of a duo about two brothers and I am looking forward to Luke's story MS Ruttan never disappoints me with her stories they are a must read they will have you smiling throughout and I highly recommend this one. "His Shock Valentine's Proposal (Sealed by a Valentine's Kiss) by Amy Ruttan is a great, quick read. I loved it. Dr. Esme Peterson is new in town and hiding some secrets from her past. Dr. Carson Ralston was the only doc in town after taking over his family's practice until the sexy Esme decided to open practice across the street. They learn to work with each other and Esme's hidden medical talents become obvious even though she's trying to bury the past.

REVIEW BY HINA | 5 STARS

Esme and Carson, to begin with have a tussle over a patient. Not treatment but who will have the patient. It was a rather cute scene and, I believe, the right way for their relationship to begin.

Full of small fights where they both learn something about each other, their relationship is all about living in the moment but they sought of just blend into being one in a way that life without the other becomes unthinkable. But of course, they have to show the heroism and think they can stay away but love gets the better of them both.

A very cute love story I would call it. One that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Dr. Carson Ralston isn't happy when a new doctor comes to town and sets up shop right across the street from the practice his family has run since the town was founded years and years ago. He's given up a lot to stay in Crater Lake, Montana and keep his hometown safe & protected.

Dr. Esme Peterson needs a change, and decides Crater Lake will suit her just fine. She's in the final stages of getting her office set up when she meets Carson and realized he's a little put off by having competition. It doesn't take long for sparks to fly and them to start spending time together.

Will their secrets catch up with them before they can work out a happily ever after?

Carson has taken over his family practice and has been the only Doctor in the town, that is until Dr. Esme Peterson decides to open her practice across the street. This story has it all some secrets that Dr. Peterson is keeping and Carson, competitive attitude now that she is stepping on his toes. What starts out as working against each other turns into more when their feelings for each other come into play. Its a medical romance but a pure romance also. I so enjoy her books and this is another example of her wonderful writing. Part of her "sealed by a valentine's kiss" duo

REVIEW BY CHERYL  | 5 STARS

Two doctors meet - Dr. Carson Ralston is operating the family practice after his father retires. He is the only doctor in the town. But then thing happen! Dr. Esme Peterson opens a practice directly across the street from his practice, some of his patients change to her practice and who does she think she is?
Both Carson and Esme have things (some secrets) in their backgrounds that threaten their forever happiness.

Both are aware of changes coming to Crater Lake, Montana and wonder what that means for them.
Carson has a brother, Luke but he does not want the family practice. Luke went into the military and is also a doctor. He is older than Carson and he should have taken over the family practice. Luke prefers to be out in the woods, tracking bears or whatever he was doing up on the mountains. Carson had the love of his life until Danielle decided that small town family practice was not where she saw herself and broke off the engagement and left for the big city.

Esme was from a big city and was a surgeon now trying to do a general practice in a small town. She hates Valentine's Day and with good reason. Her brother died on the day and she also had plans to marry Shane Draven on that day however got cold feet and became a runaway bride. Shane's father had been her mentor as she was training. She had a brother also, Avery but he died. Esme was 10 and Avery was 23 and they were in an accident on Valentine's Day and she had to put her hands in his chest to stop the bleeding, but his heart stopped.

A landslide up on the mountain changed the lives for Carson and Esme.

Amy Ruttan has done a wonderful job with the story, the description of the surroundings. Amy Ruttan has also written another book Craving Her Ex-Army Doc which is Luke Ralston's story. You will want to read it also.

Review by TashNz

New York City Docs is a series about four flatmates and friends sharing an apartment trying to be the best they can be at the prestigious West Manhattan Saints Hospital.  One Night in New York is Sam's story.  I felt I already knew Sam from the previous books in the series and I was so happy to finally reach his story.
One night, in New York, Sam and Mindy have a one night stand... two strangers who have never met before and who aren't in the habit of having one night stands but the fates have bought them together, destined to never see each other again...
Unfortunately life doesn't always pan out that way so when they meet up in the morning, both parties could probably be knocked over with a feather.  Dr Sam Napier is late for meeting the new Head of Maternal-Fetal medicine who was being introduced to the Peds floor.  Desperate to be chosen for one of two opportunities to be granted a pediatric fellowship Sam knows he needs to impress the new Head.  If receiving the fellowship had been based on his performance the night before the fellowship would have been all his I'm sure lol but unfortunately Dr Mindy Walker, the new Head of Maternal-Fetal medicine can't pick based on last nights performance.
Initially both mortified to see each other in such a professional capacity, One Night in New York tells the wonderful story of two people, amazing at what they do with bedside manners to die for (in more ways than one) and both trying so hard to succeed in a cut throat world and on the outside have it all but on the inside are both two lonely people.  An amazing career doesn't keep you warm at night and the last thing Mindy can do is show any favoritism, not to mention NOT have a relationship with Sam but when you're destined to be together, friendship is a great place to start.
Set in a Manhattan winter I found One Night in New York to be an absolute delight with characters I warmed to and a tale I will read again.  I loved the city setting and I found the pediatric medical details absolutely fascinating including the Quints.  I loved the addition of Sam's mother and the barriers that caused. I was right there on the tourist visits Sam took Mindy on.  I would highly recommend this read to anyone and everyone.

"One Night In New York" by Amy Ruttan is a medical romance that is more of a contemporary romance with a twist. Very enjoyable, quick read, that is great for the beach, pool, or just hanging out inside your home.

This story is between Dr. Mindy Walker who is trying to escape her past and her cheating ex husband. One night she runs into Dr. Samuel, Sam, Napier at a bar, but she doesn't know who he is. Sam is a little younger than her and is impersonating a Scotsman. After a night of fun they separate as friends, but don't realize that they will be working together. It's nice to see the friendship between these two that could possibly turn into something else.

Review by Hina - 5 Stars

Dr Samuel Napier is a Scotsman by blood and an American by birth. And he is lonely. Not that he craves a love life as such because he totally believes in his mother's philosophy of surgeons never making good homemakers. That is a whole lot of bull by the way. He is lonely because he has no friends left at the teaching hospital where he works and is aiming for a pediatric fellowship under Dr. Chang - the best in her field. All his friends have found love and moved away one by one. And now he has a new person on the panel of the fellowship he has to prove himself to. A new attending at the hospital for Maternal-Fetal Medicine.

Dr Mindy Walker is moving across the country to get away from the pitying looks and the shame attached to the fact that her husband (now ex-husband) cheated on her with her best friend. That her husband was gay. Leaving all that she has built in California, she moves to New York to start over but a little light-hearted fun is alright the night before she starts she thinks and picks up a man in a bar. A man she is instantly attracted to and instinctively feels connected to.

That man is none other than Sam Napier. Of course, neither knew each other and what happened was an honest mistake. Not a mistake really seeing their hearts were in the right place. The morning after, however, is a shocker when they come face to face in the hospital and decide to maintain their distance as neither could afford to have their reputation in tatters because of a one night stand.

Their relationship grows by day as they come to understand and get to know each other more. They become friends and wish to be there for each other in times of need. Is it not more than friendship they wonder. One vulnerable moment have them go back on their word of keeping distance because the need for the other is too much to be denied.

But the question remains that is the other night powerful enough to make them realise what they feel for each other is too powerful an emotion to be suppressed and that their happiness lies in their future together. The fact that Sam is younger than Mindy does not even come in to the equation because Age is, but, a number.

One Night in New York (New York City Docs) by Amy Ruttan

Dr. Mindy Walker moved from California and her ex-husband and what she thought was her best friend to New York, New hospital.

Dr. Samuel Napier is a Scotsman by blood and American by birth. His father lives in Scotland, his mother in the states. He does not have a relationship with his mother other than for her to tell him he should be a neurosurgeon instead of wasting his time in Pediatric Surgery.
Sam was out for the night and was not looking for anyone. Mindy was out just to relax and they happened to find each other even though they were not looking for someone. She was starting at the new hospital the next day. She picks up a man who turned out to be Sam and they only exchanged first names. They were mutually attracted to each other. They went back to her place and the next morning she woke alone in her bed.

She gets to the hospital and instantly they both realize this could get complicated. Neither said they were doctors but they knew that since she was literally now his boss and him in running for a fellowship under Dr. Chang, that they had to tread lightly and not let it out about the night before.
They did become friends and he did take her on the New York tour of Lady Liberty, went out for tea and had a good time.

You must ready this wonderful love story to find out the ending. You will not be disappointed.
Proves that you can meet a stranger and your lives can be turned upside down.

Can I give a star just for our Hero's name?  Thorne Wilder #sigh Or for the magnificent location description of beautiful Okinawa, Japan #devine  But then that would mean there would be only three stars left for a story that I couldnt put down and this story deserves more than three stars. The reason I give Taming Her Navy Doc five stars is because the plot is so unique from everything else in this genre that I was hanging in there until the very last page to find out how on earth Erica and Thorne #DoubleSigh are going to get their happy ever after!

A sensational beginning has our surgeon heroine making the descision to amputate a stranger's leg.  As he's part of a covert op with the Navy and that's all she knows.  This mysterious stranger is "the one" you never forget.  Life goes on and Erica transfers to Okinawa, Japan #AgainDoubleSigh and discovers Thorne is her Commanding Officer.  Navy rules are strict and their love/hate (ok it's way more love than hate) is basically a no no, a losing your career no no!

I've read about scarred heroes, cripple heroes, blind heroes but never amputee heroes and I think Thorne #yesSigh was portrayed well, his amputee d leg was part of his issues and Erica isn't short of her own problems either.  Mixed with a beautiful setting, enough road blocks to cause a traffic jam I really really enjoyed the journey Taming Her Navy Doc took me on.

Amy Ruttan is becoming a firm fave!

This is a 'Medical Romance' and tells us the story of Erica Griffin and Captain Thorne Wilder. The first meet when she is called in to amputate the leg of a Navy SEAL. He tells her not to amputate but infection has set in and there is nothing she can do to differently. Fast forward 5 years and he is now her commanding officer.

There is quite a bit to this story that I am leaving out for the reason that it is a great read, and deserves to be read rather than me telling you about it. It is a quick read, and I really liked it.

Review by Hina - 5 Star Review

A John Doe is what he was when Erica first operated on him in the middle of the night. A man who was hell bent on serving his country and damn the consequences.

Though she had some words to say, he was taken out of her care as he was a part of a covert operation. Years passed and she still thought of that time with a man she did not even know the name of. The blue eyes haunted her still.

Erica works hard to make a name in the still male dominant profession of being a Navy Commander and hopes to one day being a Captain. To lead and not just be the second in command.

On her posting to Okinawa, as Commander, she come face to face with those haunting blue yes that she remembers so vividly. She had believed him to be dead as the infection had been very severe when she had operated on him but he had made it. He lived and now she was his second in command. A man she has not only seen at the most vulnerable but also a man she was highly attracted to. The man is Captain Thorne Wilder.

Thorne knew who Erica was before her request to work in Okinawa was approved. He remembered the achingly beautiful and compassionate woman who had saved his life and sort of taken away the life he wanted to live with one decision that she made. He wanted to hate her for what she did but being a surgeon himself, he understood why she did what she did.

The moment she reported to him and he saw her, he started feeling the loss he had to bear at her hands again. Calling himself all kinds of fool for getting her here, irrespective of her being one of the best trauma surgeons, he decides then and there to make her life miserable here so that she file for a different posting.

What he finds out later is that she is one stubborn woman ready to bear all that can dish out and still stand her ground. Her ambitions and zeal are far too strong to be broken in this manner. A woman who respects herself enough to know how to remain tough when in line of fire.

What these two have never thought their future held was a life of love and happiness because both of them believe they do not deserve it and both of them are wrong.

These two people who have sacrificed for the love of their country and for the love of the people they call their own, deserve all the happiness that their tomorrows together promise to bring.

I liked reading about such a strong, heroine, Erica, having the grit and determination to advance her career in a male dominated world, as well as hold her own with the hero, Thorne, whose leg she amputated years earlier. I couldn't help but fall in love with Thorne for his scars and his ability to love a woman who was not only his equal, but who'd made the decision to amputate his leg. Something that changed his life and his career and which lots of people wouldn't be able to get past. If you love Medical Romance, you'll love this one!

“Taming Her Navy Doc” by Amy Ruttan.  Amy Ruttan did it again! Another great story!! Medical Romance!!
The night Navy Surgeon Erica Griffin was woken in the middle of the night to help an injured Navy SEAL while she was aboard a hospital ship. She made the decision that his leg had to be amputated. The Navy Seal came in as a John Doe arriving by helicopter and had his surgery and his commanding officer removed him 8 hours after surgery. He had begged her not to amputate his leg.
Erica remembered him and always wondered if he lived and of course so did the Navy Seal.
Five years later Erica moved up the ranks and was transferred to a Naval Hospital in Okinawa. Turned out that her new commanding officer is that same wounded soldier. She finds out his name is Thorne Wilder.
Captain Thorne Wilder was looking for a 2nd in command and her name had been first suggested. Erica grew up as a Navy brat with a father that was a SEAL.

Thorne knew who Erica was before her request to work in Okinawa was approved. He remembered the beautiful and angel like woman who had saved his life.
As much as both tried to not get involved you would have to read to find out what happens. These two people have sacrificed for the love of their country.

But Nick is quiet and keeps to himself these days since he returned from  Afghanistan with such guilt over an injury to his brother but there is such a spark between Jennifer and Nick neither can ignore it for long and when they decide to see where their relationship goes you will be smiling as they journey to a beautiful HEA in such a lovely setting I felt like I was at Lake Tahoe with them. I loved they way they could make each other laugh and smile and how they overcome their pasts and opened up to each other a wonderful story that is sensual and very heart-warming and I highly recommend it don't miss this one.

Keeping out of the spotlight is never easy for any celebrity. It's and endless street of diving into odd little shops when you see anyone pull out a camera and dressing down to try and hide out. In this read from Amy Ruttan we meet senator's daughter Dr. Jennifer Mills, and for her it is just as hard to keep out of the spotlight as it is for Julia Roberts!  Especially after being jilted at the altar by her ex-fiance, guaranteed that's a front page head liner that no one will ever forget.

So when arriving in Las Vegas, she's just hoping to blend in. Ha ha ha, everyone and anyone knows that 's never how it works in the city of flashing lights and big time spenders. She meets ER surgeon Nick Rousseau, the same man she spent an unforgettable night with three years earlier.

Now returned from Afghanistan, ex army medic Nick is struggling to come to terms with his time on the front-line. Rekindling his romance with Jennifer reminds him that some things in life are still worth fighting for.

This was a truly stunning story about two damaged people finding new hope after life has shown them the type of things that are sure to break even the strongest of hero's and heroines in the world.  The story was easy to read with a nice even flow and the nice little add on of a little twist here and there that sent the read from even flow to " Wow, did that just really happen?".

The character of Jennifer was pretty much as damaged are heroine's can be, the tough life of trying to stay out of the spotlight and trying to get over the hurt and embarrassment of being jilted at the altar. But being damaged as much as other heroines are in these kind of reads did not make her ordinary or boring, in fact she was a breath of fresh air, fun and little too flirty for someone that has to stay out of the spotlight so that her senator father does not end up with more egg on his face then his plate.

Nick was the tortured hero that I simply just wanted to hug and tell that everything will be okay as long as he does not give up. The author has once before shown her remarkable talent for showing the true hell and torture those that face war zones have to learn to live with. And oh my gosh he was sexy as hell! I could literately eat this man up! His back and forth battle with his troubled and clearly tortured soul shattered my heart and I cried my eyes out for this hero.

I am taking away a message of life knocks you down, sometimes so hard that the ability to get back up seems like a lost cause. But is it really the end of the line? Just as life shows you the cruel hard stuff it will also show you how to get back up, all you need to do is be open to the light that filters through and never ever think staying in the dark and blocking out the sunshine is what you deserve.
