The Prince and the Midwife by Robin Gianna

Review by TashNz

Another lovely story by Robin Gianna who always manages to weave a beautiful love story through moving medical drama.

Gabriella Cain is the head midwife at Hollywood Hills Clinic and is absolutely mortified when Dr-who-does-he-think-he-is-Raphael Moreno saunters into the delivery room and shoots her down every possible way in front of a VIP patient. Just because he's a prince - doesn't make him God of delivery rooms!!! Gabby has worked her way up from the bottom and deserves her post and it doesn't take long for Rafe to figure out he's wrong. Not only is he wrong but he very quickly realises Gabby is absolutely beautiful to him but he's in NYC to hide out and lay low and not cause paparazzi drama for himself or anyone surrounding him.

A super super awesome edition to this wonderful series of which at this stage I've only read two books but I love that Robin has eluded to James and Mila further and I liked Rafe and Gabby had to attend the ball mentioned in other books and I like the connections that are touched on but still make this book absolutely fine to read as a stand alone book.

Filled with many medical drama's around delivering babies kept me entertained and wowed at the same time. It made me sad and teary when Gabby's past was revealed and it made me curious about Rafe's history and whether he could step up to the plate and be able to be who he wants to be along with what Gabby needs him to be.

Really really enjoyed.

Review by Helen

MS Gianna writes stories that will draw you in with their sensuality and emotion and this one was a beauty a Prince for a hero and a beautiful and vulnerable heroine who is just so caring and one of the best midwives sit back and enjoy this one, this is the fifth book in The Hollywood Hills Clinic Series and it is a fabulous series.Gabriella Cain is the head midwife at the exclusive Hollywood Hills Clinic in Los Angeles she loves her job she is caring and her patients and the other staff think the world of her but she is hiding a secret that she keeps to herself and is determined to keep it that way she does not want a relationship and throws herself into her work. That might change though when Hollywood actress Cameron Fontaine is bought into the hospital in labour and in walks a new doctor an arrogant one Dr Rafael Moreno a Prince as well who is friends with the owner of the clinic James Rothsberg he will push a few of Gabby's buttons I loved the sparks that flew on their first meeting.

Dr Rafael Moreno is royalty and has come to LA to hide out and stay out of the headlines keep a low profile after his parents push him to do so after a not very good scandal involving another woman yes he feels hard done by, by his parents after choosing to be a Doctor but he is good at his job and loves it. He plans on never marrying that is not the life for him he has seen too many loveless marriages. So when His friend James asks him to help out at the clinic he is more than happy to but is his life about to change when he meets the feisty midwife Gabby?

I loved this story from start to finish the sparks and sensual pull that fires between these two beautiful people will have you smiling cheering them on and shedding a few tears a beautifully written emotional journey that brings both Gabby and Rafael to the most wonderful HEA gets them both to open up come to terms with their pasts and allow them to move onto a future filled with love and happiness. Yes this is a story that I highly recommend it was an absolute joy to read.

Robin Gianna is a fantastic storyteller who creates the most beautiful medical romances that feature three-dimensional characters who are flawed but likable. The Prince and the Midwife is flirty, sexy, dramatic and all out entertaining. The characters garnered my attention from page one. Readers are definitely in for one heck of a medical treat! Gabriella Cain loves her job being midwife to celebrity moms. But when Dr Rafael Moreno—a real life prince— stalks into her life things turn topsy turvy. Rafe breaks down the barrier she’d built around her, making her vulnerable. Could Gabriella risk falling for prince charming even as dark clouds of her past linger over her head? Read on and fall in love with characters whose stories will transport you into their magically fictional worlds!

I’ve always marveled at the wonders of IVF. No amount of research or reading material could enlighten me on such a thing. I will forever be amazed and even though I have never met anyone who has gone through with the process or thinking of going through with the process, I was glad to have met Hope Sanders. You see, Hope is a midwife and she is thinking of having a baby using IVF. What makes a single woman chose such a path? This character Hope answers many of my questions. She gives me insight into her life, her thoughts, her fears and her weaknesses. She sheds light on her love life or lack thereof. She is strong and she is thinks with her head. I love how brave she is when she faces the world yet deep down there is a part of her that is incomplete. A baby will fill the void. Only one man could make her double think… I view Dr. Aaron Cartwright as a man who thinks long and hard before he attempts to do anything in his life. He is not an introvert but he loves keeping to himself. He knows Hope just by seeing her in the hospital corridors. One day the two of them gets close. Their chemistry ratio explodes. They have a fling. But Aaron is one man who is allergic to long relationships. But with unexpected turn of events he might just need to reconsider his priorities…

(I tried as hard as possible not to give away any spoilers but all I can say is that Aaron and Hope get the HEA they deserve!)

Her Christmas Baby Bump is a deeply touching, deeply moving story. It is about two people who have had to carry heavy burdens in their past but through their current relationship builds something strong and lasting. This newly blossoming relationship will carry them through into the future and give them the love they need to remain strong and happy.

It Happened in Paris...

What started with a kiss could end with forever! Avery Girard might have sworn off men, but she can't seem to help herself when Valentines Day rolls around, she's in the city of lights, Paris ! And as everyone knows it's hard not to notice all the beauty, magic and pure romance Paris is able to bring to life, even when it's not Valentines day.

So naturally Avery much like any girl would, is lost in the moment and ends up spending Valentines Day with totally hot and totally irresistible Dr. Jack Dunbar, it's just one tiny little fling and that 's never hurt anyone, right?

Wrong!! After an afternoon of beautiful passion , Avery discovers that Jack is actually the cardiologist she is meant to be assessing, awkward! Even more worrying is when it comes to Jack, she's not only close to losing her perfectly perfected professional cool ,she's close to losing her heart.

This read was done in true Robin Gianna fashion, heartfelt characters, that were so realistic I just wanted to wrap them up and , keep them inside a little snowglobe forever! It's the kind of romance one simply cannot ever forget.

Both Jack and Avery have had more than their fare share of hurt in the past, but am sure all readers will agree with me that when the setting is right , the hurt from the past seems to magically melt away and it's only when morning comes that the magic fades and reality rears it's ugly head. That is exactly what these characters go through, from romance and passion to " Oh, oh, how did this happen?" .

The author captured the emotions of the characters with stunning clarity, I was right there for the romance is in the air, to the blazing passion and the past coming back to haunt them, simply amazing job Robin.

I am taking away a message of sometimes we end up in the right place at the right time, it does not seem to be the right place or right time at all, but you need to be able to trust life's little here and there steering's and come to realize that there is a reason behind it all, don't walk away , trust your heart not the past.

A highly recommended read.

Everyone knows that when it comes to flirting with the forbidden , it's playing with fire , but more importantly you that you shouldn't do it at all, but it's so much fun and so addicting that stopping is hard, so really hard.

For intern Dr. Katy Pappas, seeing the very delectable surgeon Alec Armstrong again is pure sweet torture! He rejected her after their sinfully delicious kiss years earlier, but boy oh boy does the man still send her into a tizzle! She still wants him and she wants him bad!

Alec is captivated by Katy, she's all grown up and temps him into sinful thoughts, but she's also his best friend's sister, a colleague and his student and therefore definitely off limits. He won't risk their careers with muddling the waters, but as we all know resistance is futile when it comes to something that feels so very right,

Robyn Gianna is fast becoming a author that wows with amazing realistic characters and memorable plots, this time I again got the wow characters and the amazing plot but the difference between this book and her previous reads ? This time she brought her A game and totally wowed me into a state of speechlessness.

I was entranced, transfixed, romanticized and completely blown away.  I adored each and every moment of this read.

The passion, the resistance, the drama and the sweet and soul for-filling ending, it was all simply perfect. Great twits and turns that kept it interesting and wonderful best of all it was a nice, quick easy read.

Noting felt dragged out, yes there is a bit of a back and forth issue but in most reads of similar genres the author did not let the back and forth resistance get in the way of the flow of romance, great job Robin.

I am taking away a message of life has all kinds of little up's and down's generated into the everyday life  and designed to make us fall from our neatly erected throne but falling is not always as bad as it seems. So when you feel yourself being pushed it's important to know when to let go and when to try and hang on, the trick is to of course to make sure to make the right choice, how you may ask will you know, well here's some advise chose your goals and then take the decision.

I recommend this read for all fans of medical romance reads, it was fun, easy to read, lighthearted and had just the right amount of emotion to let you know drama can always be overcome.

"Flirting with Dr. Off-Limits" by Robin Gianna is a Medical Romance. Dr. Katherine (Katy) Pappas is a surgical intern. Dr. Alec Armstrong is her resident adviser and her brother Nick's best friend. They grew up together, but after he’d rejected passionate kiss when from her in the past things were not the same between them. Now Katy still has the hots for Alec but he is now her teacher and that is frowned upon for ethical reasons.

Alec is "off limits" for more than one reason but grown up Katy is doing a number on his libido, and now she is also "off limits. Will they fight this attraction between each other or take it to the next level? This is a great read, and I recommend it if you love romance. I seriously wish I had a hard copy of this book. I loved it that much!

Dr Katherine Pappas had a huge crush on her brother's best friend who treated her as if she was part of the group and not someone unwelcome when she followed the duo everywhere and conducted science experiments with them. But the girl's got a brain and knows when to stop making her life hell after a man who wants nothing to do with you.

The problem? The man does want her in his life but Dr Alec Armstrong does not know how to make that happen. Being Katy's teacher at the teaching hospital she is interning at added to the fact that she is his best friend's kid sister makes him all kinds of ...(use anyone word you like because it is he thinking that and not me).

In all the hustle of the hospital life, the resolution to stay away from each other and not think of each other gets lost and they do end up together. The sparks flying between are just too strong. Love does that.

Now the question is, will they let all that lie dormant or do something about it? Are they strong enough to brave the gossip that they fear might run rampant or are they cowards? I leave you to read and find out for yourself.

This is the second book that I have read by Robin Gianna and I have loved them both.

Being in control at all times is not always the best approach in life, you become so dependent on your own set of rules that everything and everyone else becomes a blur.

And after a while you are a very unlikable person, that no one wants to try to reason with, because all it will end with is them walking away from a argument and you once again winning and carrying on with your rules.

In the new read from Robin Gianna this is Charlotte Edwards, she is always cool, calm, collected and most importantly in control. She is the one that will drive when driving is to be done, she will take the lead in doing what ever needs to be done, end of discussion!

But when she has one seriously hot sexy night of passion with Dr Trent Dalton it is the one time she decides to let go of control and instead be controlled. It however only lasts briefly and the next morning she is back in control and ready to take on the world. But when she realizes she needs Trent's help she has no choice but to bury her pride and the awkwardness and beg for his help.

Trent knows that mixing business with pleasure can only lead to trouble, yet the overpowering urge to let Miss Always In Control of her world loose control and fall from her perfect pedestal is so strong he cannot let the chance slip. And because she is so addictive he eagerly agrees to help her, that is until he learns her real reasons for keeping him around. He has no time for this lie to me to use me facade and takes off, and even if she follows him he will never believe her lies again.

This was a very lovely read set in a stunning far out there setting with loads of medical drama and intense bounce from here to there romance. The characters were well written and Trent stole my heart from the start.

I very much enjoyed that how the author incorporated the trust and betrayal elements in this read, it has been done so many times before, but this author gave it a new and fresh turn with events unfolding in the not so usual manner.

Trent was sweet, kind and oh so very sexy, and bonus a Dr! But what stood out for me the most was how he hard he tries to avoid his feelings for Charlotte yet goes against everything his instincts tell him, it showed me that just as in real life, you tend to know it will be bad for you but you keep chasing the idea because there is a little something that tells you this time it will be different. The trick of course is to listen that that nagging little voice instead of of telling it to keep quiet, that could be the worst mistake you ever make.

Charlotte was a fun and feisty character, I liked her being bossy it showed her as many woman need to be, be able to stand up for yourself, but she did push the limit too much, and this reminded me of so many woman of today, you are in control , you can do anything a man can do only better, but if you let this little 'magical power' over rule everything else you are for darn sure going to end up a lonely and heartbroken empty shell!  Don't always think you know best.

I am taking away a message of life will bring many issues of trust and betrayals our way, it will only rule your life if you let it!

I recommend this read for all fans of medical romance reads, the author's writing has the perfect new and fresh feel about it with the perfect dose of twist and turns that make for fabulous reading.

When Charlotte Edwards, the administrator of a mission hospital in the African state of Liberia, throws caution to the wind and indulges in a night of passion with Trent Dalton, a temporary doctor, she knows she’d never see him again, so it doesn’t matter.  The very next day, she’s forced to go to the airport and beg him to return, as his placement is totally unsuitable.  Mercifully, he postpones his travel plans in order to help out, but now she’s faced with the total embarrassment of her one night of indiscretion coming back to haunt her again and again….

Trent?  He likes to love ‘em and leave ‘em.   A man who comes from a privileged background, he wants to make his own mark on the world.  He wants to use his surgical skills to make a difference to people’s lives and not to have to live up to the reputation of his family, who have enough money and renown to make it possible for him to lead a life of wealth and ease.  What he doesn’t understand is Charlotte’s passion for setting up a plastic surgery unit in a mission field.  Is cosmetic surgery the aim of a mission hospital?  Surely just saving lives is more important?

Can this pair of misfits ever get together in the true sense, rather than in a one-off encounter?  That’s the question and I have to say that I found this a story told with wit, warmth and humor.  It was also wonderful to get a chance to visit Liberia, a country about which I’ve always been curious.  An English-speaking state, set up by freed American slaves.  Get a copy of this book, read and enjoy.  Although Harlequin M&B books tend to go out of print after a very short time, ebooks are always available.  I totally heart this book and recommend it to readers of romance, medical, contemporary and otherwise.

Changed by His Son's Smile by Robin Gianna

Changed By His Son's Smile

Reviewed by Desere

Personally I have never thought it very romantic when the woman is the one proposing to the man and not the way around it's meant to be, but I have also always tried to remember that sometimes it comes down to a situation of no guts no glory.

In this read from author Robin Gianna I was introduced to Dani and how her moment of no guts no glory turns into one of heartache and loneliness, but also how this makes her stronger than she ever was when she needs it for the worst curve-ball life has.

The man of the hour, Chase turns her marriage proposal down and understandably she walks away, but she has a secret she takes with her.

Three years later she's back with the little boy that changed her life. Of course when Chase puts two and two together he is all for being a number one dad, furious that he never knew of his son's existence but prepared to do what ever it takes to be apart of his son's life.  That's the easy part of this adventure, the hard part will be to get Dani to accept his proposal and not give him a taste of his own rejection medicine.

The main characters of Dani and Chase were both well written and both had their own unique flair making them both likeable.

The author only here and there touched on their past relationship which made it a very intriguing read keeping my attention. I very often find in some reads that the author gives all the happenings of the past too soon and am able to puzzle the past events together far too soon and it makes the read too predictable, not the case in this read.

The backdrop settings were nicely described and well meshed together with the character's emotions.  The dialogue was of course for a medical related read very emotional and had me shedding a tear, but it was also very informative with just the right balance.

Some medical reads tend to either give too much medical information and it takes the edge of the romance and other's sometimes gives too little for me as reader to actually understand what is really happening. The author kept a very nice balance between being informative without making the read too much about the medical aspect and taking the focus away from the romance and actual life's happenings of the characters.

I very much enjoyed this read, well written and nicely planned out sweet and sensual. I'm taking away a message of no guts no glory sometimes does mean you will be let down, but you will at least know you tried. The let down will hurt but it will also make you stronger which in future will come in handy.

" Smiles are worth a thousand words, or in this case worth a thousand dreams coming true"

Review By TashNz

Changed by His Son's Smile is a January 2014 Harlequin release by debut medical romance author Robin Gianna.

What a wonderful medical story.  Dr Chase Bowen is truly a hero doctor/surgeon.  He works in the middle of nowhere in different countries, where ever he's sent with his team, providing medical aid to those who essentially don't know anything about the modern medical world, let alone modern civilization.  His ex, Dr Dani Sheridan turns up at his camp one evening.  Surprise! She's the new Doctor AND has an extra package on board which provides Chase with the surprise of a lifetime when he's staring into a miniature version of his own eyes!

I love how Changed by His Son's smile gets straight into it.  All the above happens within a couple of pages of the story starting.  To be fair Chase is fizzing that he's not been told about lil two and a half year old Andrew and immediately sets about getting to know him and doing all he can to convince Dani to offer herself to him in marriage again like she did years ago.

There's many awesome aspects about this medical romance.  It's absolutely full of romance, while Chase is angry to start with he's never forgotten how he felt about Dani and does his best to remind Dani what she is trying hard to forget. It has amazing medical adventures and being in the part of Africa they are it's out of the ordinary and very interesting to see how they cope with what they have.

Andrew added another great dimension to the story. Due to his age he could interact with the main character and provided many sweet and entertaining moments.  I did wonder in the back of my mind if he'd be the subject of a kidnap or something of the sort but when "the" moment actually happens I can assure you I was glued to my seat, my heart beating twice as fast as normal with the tension and worry!

If you're looking for a story sweet but exciting, characters loving but cautious, a fan of medicals or looking for a story to try to see if you like the medical genre, Changed by His Son's Smile is the story for you!  I would never have guessed Robin is a debut author, the story flowed brilliantly, the dialogue was believable and I was thoroughly engaged in the medical dramas.

4 Stars for sure!
