                           Buckhorn Ever After by Lori Foster

In this five chapter read we meet Shohn, he is hot, hot, hot and more hot! He wants Nadine, he has always wanted her yet something has help him back and instead he has stuck to his playboy love-em-love-em lifestyle.

But looking into the eyes of Nadine one day he suddenly realises it's time to go for it. He has her every which way you can think of.

Only Nadine wants their relationship to remain a secret, for when Shohn breaks her heart like all the other girls in town she would prefer to handle the heartache in secret, instead of being branded as yet another notch in Shohn's bedpost.

Shohn can handle this but only up to the point where letting the world know she is his woman, even if he has to kill off a family member to prove it!

A hot little read about jealousy, finding happiness in the place you are and family that come together to ensure love finds it way to completion. The characters were well written and I liked the conflict and heat between the characters, it set the pages alight.

Adored the cat in this little tale, it added the feeling of coming home to the read. Recommend for Lori Foster fans and for all romance readers who like family meddling!

                                                   Imagine Me and You by Maisey Yates

All Maisey Yates fans know she writes gorgeous ,tormented, badboy hero's that are simply to die for! This time around she has done so again, a drool worthy, come sit in my lap and let me unwrap you for Christmas cowboy!

That cowboy is Jace,but he is not your typical romance hero, yes he is drop dead sexy, great in bed, a badboy when it comes to the have sex and walk away traits, but his past has given him one very quirky habit, the man is a neat freak!

His home is the absolute perfect image of clean. Nothing is out of place, everything is spotless. That is until his best friend Samantha shows up needing a place to stay, only with her comes her beloved dog Poppy with extra drool included.

Jace actually does not handle the dog fur and drool situation too badly and it was rather funny. But the one thing he cannot handle is the simmering attraction for Samantha, it has been there for years but he has been able to brush it off. But now she is in his house looking all gorgeous and he wants her bad. He is thrilled to find she wants him too, but risking their friendship is something Samantha simply will not do. Jace however has a plan and if he has to allow the drooling dog to sleep on his precious couch to get Samantha into bed then this neat freak will break all his own rules!

The characters were both simply great ! I am use to this author's Mills and Boon reads with classy heroines and classier rich hero's but in this read the main characters were both down to earth, spoke their minds and just went with the flow, this was nice and refreshing!

The read comes in at only eleven chapters but was in no way too short or too long, it was just perfect. A very sensual, sexy read about friends who turn to lovers. Highly recommend for all Maisey Yates fans and lovers of cowboys who just don't quit when it comes to getting their woman !

                                                            Gimme Shelter by Heidi Betts

Another five chapter read, this one about Dean and Erica and the three adorable kittens that bring them together.

Dean rescues them so he is definitely hero material ladies! Now the attraction between Erica and Dean move very quick and it is not long before the pages start to burn up with the sizzling heat!

But when Dean decides he is not keeping the kittens he goes from hero to zero in Erica's eyes only the poor man has no idea that is the reason she is giving him the cold shoulder, so he sets out on a mission to get to the bottom of it!

The characters were both likeable and I found myself thinking how perfect they are for each other. I liked the  author using the kittens as the link for this couple. It gave the perfect "ties that bind us" feel for this read.

A very nice little story about compassion and communication. Recommend for all cat lovers !

                                                        Partner in Crime by Jules Bennett

We all do something in the middle of the night that we find heroic, but things can always go wrong. Only for Saige she thinks rescuing animals for crazy owners is just that and the only thing that can go wrong is if she is caught, but she is always extra careful and so reckons it will never happen. Until her red hot drop dead gorgeous ex-cop neighbour Abel turns her in to the police!

Not only is she arrested she loses the dog she was trying to rescue! She is in total shock as only a few hours before she had been having the best orgasms all thanks to being in this man's arms and now this!

This is a short nine chapter read that was also a very easy read, the authors words flowed very nicely and she brought all together with a crazy mess of various animals, each one cuter than the other!

The characters were both very nicely written. I liked that the author lets the attraction between a always do the right thing Abel and do what you must even if you break the law Saige pop from page one.

A wonderful message of life gives us what we need when we least expect it! Highly recommended for all lovers of Jules Bennett fans and romance reads that move with ease and at a fast pacey.

                                                ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All four stories contained adorable animals from cute little kittens to seriously bad smelling dogs,I adored each one of them. I highly recommend this read for all romance readers looking for a book that contains it all some mystery, some suspense, some police action and yes a delicious cowboy!
She now runs the local Pet Hotel, where folks can drop their beloved pets off for the day or while on vacation. Nadine is loveable and strong minded and has no problem standing up to Shohn.
When he stops by the Pet Hotel to pick up his cousins dog he is shocked at just how attracted he is to Nadine and wonders why they never hooked up before. Now he had decided he will do whatever he needs to do to have Nadine. Including, adopting a BIG CAT.
There were some really cute lines in this book. It had me snickering quite a bit. And to see what they come up with to have some private time away from this “stuck like glue Cat” Louie
Imagine Me and You by Maisey Yates
In this darling short by MaiseyYates, we meet long time friends Jace and Samantha. They have known each other since high school. While neither one has had a relationship that has lasted, their friendship has stood the test of time.
Samantha has shown up on Jace’s doorstep needing a place to stay. She has a MOOSE aka “Newfoundland “for a dog and needs a temporary place for a month. She promises it won’t be an issue, but we all can see the writing on the wall when Samantha and Poppy move into Mr. OCD’s house. Jace is a clean freak, everything has a place and no dust is going to settle on his furniture. So how is he going to stop from going nuts when drooling Poppy moves in?  Let the laughter begin.
And wow was there ever some steamy scenes in this book … yeah I know but seriously they were in the shower … STEAMY!  For a short story Maisey was able to pack in quite a bit of back story to explain Jace’s obsession with cleaning and having everything in it place.
Gimme Shelter by Heidi Betts
In Gimme Shelter: Erica has secretly drooled over her hunk of a neighbor for a year now. And she is surprised when he shows up on a rainy evening after midnight holding three small kittens. Dean has come to the only person he thinks can help him with the small kittens he rescued from work. Erica is an animal L O V E R! Mom to two dogs and three cats of her own. So she was the go to gal when it comes to animal care.
Dean had noticed Erica before but never up close and is shocked how pretty she really is.  While she helps him warm up the kittens and feed them they start flirting with each other. She lets him know he will have to stay at her house with her, to help feed the kittens every couple of hours. They soon realize they have a lot in common. And neither can move fast enough to get the other in bed.
Heidi Did a great job making me feel like I was watching the antics of these three little kittens. I even enjoyed how Dean named them The Three Stooges Larry Curly and Moe. It was quite cute to see what they go into.
Partner in Crime by Jules Bennett
In Jules Bennett’s short story Partner in Crime: We meet Abel who is pet setting for his sister Leah who is in the military in Iraq.  Recuperating from a gunshot wound he received while a police officer. He is waiting to be cleared to return to the Police force and is hoping to take a job in Lexington. When the neighbor’s dog fluffy grabs a plastic ball with Spike inside “Leah’s guinea pig”, of course Abel panics. But soon the guinea pig is rescued. But Abel is not sure he will be the same.  He is instantly attracted to Saige. She is just the type of woman Abel is attracted to, not all skin and bones. But a woman he can hold on to.
Saige is so much more than a pretty face. While she works at a vet clinic during the day. At night she is busy breaking the law by stealing dogs. With tips from a friend she dons black clothing and goes into the worse of neighborhoods to rescue dogs that are being abused, used in fighting or just plain neglected. She uses her own money to care, treat and love these dogs to health while finding them good homes to go to.
When Abel sees her leaving late at night he follows her. He makes her tell him what is really going on and when she is determined to go back for the dog, he tells a fellow police officer and has Saige picked up. But there is so much more behind this. While Saige is really angry over feeling betrayed, she soon changes her tune when he tells her why he did this.
I loved the story line Partners in Crime. I loved that there was someone willing to do anything to rescue abused and neglected animals. There were also a few funny lines in this book. Especially regarding Fluffy, and her little problem.
These four short stories were really cute.  One of the things I enjoyed was each one had a few laughs in each, along with some steamy romance.
Another reason to purchase this book - The authors are donating all of their proceeds from Animal Attraction to the Animal Adoption Foundation of Hamilton, OH, a charitable organization.
The Trouble with cowboys by Melissa Cutler
The Trouble with Cowboys (Catcher Creek, #1)
Reviewed by Desere
I am fairly certain that there is no woman alive that can resist a drool worthy, Stetson wearing, Jean hugging, boot stomping cowboy!
For Amy this is exactly the case, she sees a cowboy and her heart beat goes into overdrive, but she always ends up being the horse ridden and then left in the stall alone.
So when she returns home to help her sisters save the family farm and comes face to face with a very hot and sexy cowboy, the one and only I'll-make-your-knees-go-weak- Kellan, she sees the trouble coming from a mile away.
But faster than you can say Ride-em-cowboy these two find themselves trapped in the most delicious sexual encounters.
The problem, both have family issues stemming way back into the past and a future simply seams impossible, the family issues are all connected to love, and love is not something that Amy wants to set her heart on again only to get burned and for Kellan love is something he has never had and he has been doing just fine without it. But love is a feeling more powerful than any force and if Kellan and Amy can make it work then anyone can.
The characters of Amy and Kellan were both exceptionally well written. Amy was fun and very quirky. Loved that she pours her energy into cooking! Where else have you ever heard of a woman dicing and chopping celery simply to clear her head, I loved this touch from the author, it made Amy very realistic in the sense that it seems like something a real life chef might do, when not cooking simply for the love thereof.
I loved that Amy was a scarred heroine, having her heart broken over and over by her one weakness blended in perfectly with the reasoning of her trying to find her own form of male security that she never got from her father. The author showed that the harder we fall for our weakness the more we crave our weakness to be the one thing to come and rescue us.
The character of Kellan was awesome! Loved, loved, loved the man to bits( and this has nothing to do with my very own weakness for cowboys) there was just so many characteristics about this hero that made me love him. He took me from "I am going to kill this man" to "I totally love you".  I adored that he slowly but surely changes from loveless cowboy to love overflowing for everyone around him, taking away the one time playboy and giving me as reader the perfect heart stopping cowboy hero!
The backdrop settings were perfectly incorporated by the author and blended in with the read perfectly down the very last backdrop setting. So often I find that western romance reads contain a backdrop setting that is simply too glamorous or too flashy to be associated with a cowboy, lucky for me in this read it was not the case, made me love the book even more!
The dialogue had it all, fun, crazy, hot, passionate, sexy and very emotional. I found myself laughing out loud and wiping away at the tears. The sexual level of this read is hot, hot, hot, the pages practically erupted into flames between the characters and their very steamy encounters.
I am taking away a message of holding onto the past will never set you free, you simply need to find the courage to take a risk, set things right and move on, hatred festering in your heart is bound to kill any love you might have left.
I highly recommend this read for all fans of western romances written with a fun and fresh spunk! At the end of this read if you are still not a fan of cowboys and their romantic ways and you don't find yourself wishing for one of your very own, then you definitely need to have your body examined for factory failure!
I look forward to more amazing sensually sexy reads from this author!
Falling in love at the age of eighteen and then having to let the guy go is just plain awful. What is worst is if the guy does not come after you, pretty much spelling it out loud and clear that he does not love you as you love him.
But if the guy is a prince and has no choice but to obey his duty, would you blame him?  For Charlotte this is the dilema. Years ago she and her mother were living on the grounds of the King or Iria and her mother was nothing more to the King than a convenient mistress, until he found a new woman to warm his bed. The King dismisses Charlotte and her mother, effectively severing the young lovers ties.
Charlotte moves on, but when she suddenly comes face to face with the one and only man she has ever loved and had to let go, she is suddenly not so sure of why having fun with crown Prince Luca is a bad idea. And when he takes her away for a romantic hot sex filled getaway she is positive she can let go when the time comes and once again move on. But when she discovers he is to be engaged to a Princess and all she could ever be is his mistress, she get out as fast as she can, but she takes with her a piece of him that will bind him to her forever.  The real question is will he come looking for her this time or will she have to face life without him again?
The character of Charlotte was great, she is no fool me twice gal, and holds her grudge against Luca firmly in place until he kisses her senseless that is. After that she is like any other woman who' s heart will always belong to her first love. I loved that the author let the character try to keep a clear head amongst the hot passionate nights she finds in Luca' s arms she of course fails but surprisingly she shows she is stronger than she looks and holds back her pain until out of sight, not all woman can stare into the eyes of her man and simply turn around and walk out without so much as a single tear slip out with him watching. Charlotte was therefore a very likeable heroine not showing weakness.
The character of Luca was awesome! The man is all sexiness and charm, but also a bit of a idiot by always sticking to his precious duty, however that being said it was understandable as the life of a Prince is never easy. I loved that the author lets him get hit and hit real hard when the moment of clarity dawns on him, was nice reading about a prince going down and going down hard, suddenly he became the hero prince instead of the always doing my duty even prince.
The backdrop settings were fun and exciting keeping in tune with the here and now instead flashbacks to the past as we often find , such as it happened in the palace or the here or there all those years ago,  the author stuck to keeping it in the here and now with settings of fun, sun and romance, and this blended in nicely with the short read feature, the book comes in at seven chapters.
The dialogue was classic Lynn Raye Harris, fun, sexy, sensual and classy! I am taking away a message of turning your back on the past is the worst mistake you can make, you need to either face it and deal with it or embrace it and find happiness within the walls of hurt.
I highly recommend this read for all short story fans and fans of Lynn Raye Harris reads, with that deeper meaning of old love never dies.
Scorsolini Baby Scandal by Lucy Monroe - Royal Baby Collection
Scorsolini Baby Scandal
Reviewed by Desere
Being loved for who you are is something we all crave. You want your other half to accept you with flaws, faults, good and bad. As the line goes, for better of worse!
But when you have a title to add to the front of your name it is never easy, people tend to think they need to love you because of the power you have, or thinking if they can win you over they will be able to walk away with your fortune.
So understandably if it were me in such a position I would also not be too keen to reveal the true me with the title attached. I would much rather just be me as the person instead of the titleholder so to speak.
In the new Lucy Monroe read this is the case for Kiki and Mich, they both come from powerful, strong families. They meet and instantly fall in love, but neither one reveals their titles. They are wrapped in a bubble of love and even when Kiki drops the pregnancy bombshell it does not blow the whirlwind love out of the works. No they marry and are instantly happier than ever. That is until reality comes knocking on the door. And the truth is revealed, will it shatter their love or make it stronger than before ?
The character of Kiki was great, however I would have liked her to be a little older. She seemed so very young to fall head over heals. I would have said that the author needed her to be just a few years older , it would have given me as reader a more " I have been there done that" character, more grown up. But at the same time I understood that the author was trying to show that Kiki has not truly experienced life due to always being guarded and her every move watched. But I do feel the author could still have pulled it off without letting the Kiki be so young. That aside the character was fun to read and I liked that she is towards the end of the read more determined to stand up and speak her peace than she was before having it all within her grasp.
The character of Mich was one I loved from the start. The man is sex on legs and simply oozes charm and sophistication. I loved that the author lets him have a take it all in stride handle what ever comes along attitude in life even though he knows he has much more to face in the upcoming years of his life. I simply adored the manner in which he protects Kiki against anyone and everything that even so much as dares to speak any unkind words about her, it showed the perfect "I love you and you are my life " hero.
The backdrop setting was romantic, carefree and fun. But the author also very nicely linked in the possible emotional trauma of what could or might go wrong when she brings the characters to the palace, where it is all about authority.
The dialogue was sweet and sensual, pure romance from page one! This read is part of the Royal Baby Short reads collection and therefore only contained six chapters.
But you might be thinking that the characters going from meeting, falling into bed and then getting married during the first four chapters that this is not true romance as the in between getting to really move around the problems that arise when the truth is revealed is not fully explored.
But the author's intensity and passion between her characters more than make up for it all, she shows love at first sight as truly being able to happen and last a lifetime!
I am taking away a message of when someone loves you for you and not for a title you carry with you, it is the best kind of love anyone can ask for. For that person sees the true you beneath all the royal-ness of it all, and your title is simply that, only a title.
I recommend this read for all fans of whirlwind romances that leads to unexpected paths.
All Bets Are On by Charlotte Philips
All Bets Are On
Every office has a ice queen and every office has a player. The ice queen is the one that is always focused on her work and everything is always in place, no file untouched. And the player is the one that every female in the office has had in bed, been there done him and gotten the dumped t-shirt to prove it.
So when office ice queen Alice finds half a list of men involved in placing a bet on who gets her into bed, she is furious and goes into a crying fit. Gets over it and moves on, but when the biggest of office players Harry asks her out saying he can help her go from ice queen to loose and fancy free, she reckons why not it could be good but immediately she draws up a little list of her own. She will show that this player is just that and if he is in on the bet she will be the one to walk away with a win!
The characters of Harry and Alice were both well written and each had their own unique reason for being the way they are. Harry 's enjoying the love them and leave them attitude stems from his childhood, no attachment just fun and his heart will remain guarded. For Alice it stems from a relationship involving social media that had given her ex the advantage and her the shame.
I liked that the author lets both characters past mesh into their relationship, it made for some very interesting moments of clarity. I loved that Harry does not know about her list and she does not know for sure if he is involved in the bet. It was kind of like I was reading a the rules of men vs the rules of woman book, only this one involved a lot more emotion and left a punch at the end that one would certainly not get from any rule book. And it also gave me as reader laughable moments of he knows but she doesn't and the other way around.
The backdrop settings were great, the author captured the loose and fancy free attitude of Harry when taking me as reader to his home. She also showed the perfectly boring down to the last t crossed and i dotted life of Alice when in the boardroom.
The dialogue was mostly fun, sexy and kept light but does at some stage get emotional and serious. Over all this was a great afternoon read, but it was missing passion. I feel if the author gave a little more heat to the attraction between her characters it would have intensified the read and left a more memorable impression.
I recommend this read for anyone looking to read a light not so much involved read.
Marriage Behind the Facade
I know that most you will agree being married to a real life Prince is something every woman wants, but have you ever stopped to think what it might be like if you find your Prince, marry and then discover all is not it seems?
In Marriage behind the Façade the author beautifully showed me the other side of the royal life of Prince Malik (don't you just love how foreign and exotic his name sounds) and Sydney. They meet have spectacular sex and on impulse they marry, only Sydney discovers that Malik reckons he made a mistake by marring her and she takes off back for home.
Almost a year goes by before Malik comes looking for her and he has a quite the deal breaker for her to get the divorce she wants. They need to return to his home land of Jahfar, live as man and wife for forty days and then and only then will they be able to apply to the King for a divorce.
I don't know about you ladies but for me I would not see the idea of being swept off to a foreign land for a couple of days with a Prince all that bad, except if like Sydney I cannot seem to keep my mind out of the gutters whenever in the vicinity of a sexy as sin Prince in all his glory!
Yet, Sydney agrees and once there Malik tries everything he can think of to bring her around and back into his bed. The question of course being will her heart survive this time around if she falls again.The characters of Malik and Sydney were simply stunning. Malik being the always in control of his emotions and Sydney always doubting herself and not ever being confident.
That combination of personalities made for some really stunning conflict and hotter than the desert sun reading. I loved how the author let each layer of Malik unfold giving me as reader the insight into the man's head I was searching for. I also truly adored the level of deep emotion the author packed into the character of Sydney showing me the side that the world does not see, yet is the real her.
The setting of the desert made the read that much hotter, and a really sexy sex scene in the desert scene not only packed the passion into this one but also let me see that the author was showing that the storms of the desert raging out of control was much like the characters emotions and the inner storms they are fighting, which I just totally loved!
The dialogue was funny and witty as Malik and Sydney bash it out, and also extremely passionate and emotional. This is not the first time I have read this author's work but I can with all honesty say that this time around she somehow, and believe me I did not think it possible, but she completely surprised me and made the book almost personal as if she was writing about herself. Either that or it is just proof that this author writes so well that she lets her reader connect with her characters on such a deep level of emotion that it will as it did me stun you into awe!
Excellent work Lynn, I truly cannot wait to see what you offer up next! Highly recommend read.
This is my first sheikh book.  The sheikh, it seems, has been a sought after romantic hero since the days of Valentino, or maybe since Edith Maud Hull penned her vintage romantic novel, 'The Sheik'. I mean, what could be more irresistible than the prince of the desert, riding his camel, his white robes flowing in the desert breeze?
As a woman of western origin, married to a man from the east, I read this with particular interest, although my man is not from an Arabic community.  What I thought I'd get was a piece of high flown romance.  What I got, was a story of a relationship between two human beings. How they resolved their conflict and found their conclusion.  She is the ugly duckling in a family of swans, who ran off with a prince on impulse and ended up running away.  He is a man who easily straddles two cultures, eastern and western.  The fact that he's an Arab prince and she's American is neither here nor there.  But it makes for interesting reading.  The Arab land is not a dusty, sandy place, it's air conditioned comfort. Until the pair find themselves in the desert in a sandstorm, that is. There's no muezzin referred to calling people to namaz.  But the focus remains entirely on the protagonists.  This is a piece of quality writing.  You want fiction to make you feel good and give you the message of hope?  You'll get it right here.  And I have to add that Lynn Raye Harris is a very skilled writer.  She is quite one of the best writers I have ever read.  Her love scenes are beautifully written.
In a relationship, both parties have to change and adjust to each other and you will notice that in this couple.  If you read only one romantic novel this year, read this one.
Review by TashNz
Lucky me, this supurb story was available in NZ in September and it was a must buy for me because I had enjoyed book one, Strangers in the Desert so much.
In order to secure a divorce from Prince Malik, Sydney agrees to return to Prince Malik's hometown, Jahfar and live as man and wife for 40 days and nights, as is custom in Jahfar in order to proceed to a divorce. Being back in close vicinity of Prince Malik slowly dissolves all the hard feelings Sydney has held tight to over the past year of absence.  Not being one with words Prince Malik is too proud and stubborn to just say what he feels and instead tries to show Sydney but it's not enough for Sydney.
I recall being in awe of the imagery! Lynn Raye Harris reminded my why the Sheikh genre is number one on my top five list. The desert is so far removed from my world I love it because I can escape from my daily grind and Marriage Behind the Facade achieved that 100% for me.  I love drama and conflict second-chance stories bring and I knew I was invested in the story when I was feeling Sydney's pain.
A fast-paced heart-accelerating highly recommended read.
