A Bride For The Runaway Groom by Scarlet Wilson

Reviewed by Desere

Everyone knows the standard joke of any wedding, the bride of groom taking off ! Now as funny as that sounds ( I mean who actually really wants to run away from their wedding day, okay lots of people but it's still a little funny to think about), it still involves a lot of heartache and drama and what if's are always left unanswered.

Of course in the world of romance writing just about anything and everything can and will happen to make it all come back together and shine bright like a a wedding day diamond! In this new read from author Scarlet Wilson it happens and in spectacular Scarlet Wilson fashion.

We meet elusive millionaire Will Carter, he has been almost married four times, yes you read that right I said four times! This little burst-my-bubble-that's-a-lot of almost's makes him pretty much the perfect candidate for helping Rose Huntingdon-Cross organize a wedding.

But as time goes by the heart-stopping attraction between then grows with each passing moment and soon Rose finds herself wishing she could be lucky number five. She finds that getting Will to the altar is the easy part getting him to stay there and say I do is the part she knows will make or break their relationship.

This was a truly magical read, romance with pure bliss. Heartfelt and gut wrenching emotion had me reaching for tissues for pretty much almost the entire read. I loved the character of Rose, fun and funky whilst still keeping her pose as a woman on a mission to prove her worth.

And Will, ah sweet , kind, caring and totally hopelessly lost Will, what a man ! I wanted to strangle him one minute and the next I could kiss him to death. I adored the author letting this hero find his true emotions and letting them erupt right at the precise moment  I as reader wanted it to.

A sweet, sensual and heart-stoppingly beautiful read that is guaranteed to send any reader's heart into a flutter.

Rachel Archer has every single little detail of her life planned, down to the last letter. It's what makes her feel safe and as if nothing unexpected can throw her off kilter.

Then gorgeous knock-my -socks-off - always living the life of a free spirit Leo Fairfax tempts her to live on the wild side, just for one night.

That one magical night changes both their lives forever, when they discover that Rachel is pregnant! It's the kind of disorganized mess Rachel did not expect, and Leo well he has quite the job ahead trying to convince Rachel that he's sticking around for her and the baby and no matter what he will win her heart. But Rachel did not organize any space in her heart for anyone not a baby and certainly not a man!

This was one of those reads that clearly shows how truly beautiful love between opposites can be and how the news of a baby can make people re-asses, rearrange and ultimately find the perfect balance needed to cement love into an unbreakable bond. And most importantly that nothing is set in stone, everyone is capable of change.

I loved the character differences to bits! Rachel trying so hard to re-organize her life back into a neatly ticked box was really fun to read, and Leo trying beyond hard to let go of his free spirit lifestyle in order to show Rachel he will be around for everything being a parent entails. It truly was like watching a very prim and proper princess being knocked off her throne and a soldier having to learn how to stay in one place for once.

The author's writing was really great, a nice even flow, none of all the going back and forth battles and then going around and around again and again. The battles were there of course otherwise it would not have been a romance book, but the battles were as I said not dragged out and played out over and over again as I have found to be the case in many of the Cherish line books.

The romance blossoming between Rachel and Leo was so masterfully done and with such raw deeply heartfelt emotion that for the most part whilst reading I had a constant supply of Kleenex ready.

A truly magical journey that will give any romance reader that falling in love rush from start to finish Watch out for this author, guaranteed she will be taking romance to new heights !

Rachel Archer had it all figured out. Her life and what she wanted from it. She had planned everything out. Until her plans are thrown out by a wild night of passion with artist Leo Fairfax.

And from the consequences of that night. Now what will happen to Rachel’s plans? And could Leo allow his life to be planned out by someone else? Will he commit? For he is a free spirit.

BOUND BY A BABY is a sweet tender romance. It brings together two people so opposite to each other that as a reader I couldn’t help wondering if they would get together at the end. Author Ellie Darkins brought this story to life on the pages which would hold a reader’s attention and keep her wondering to the very end.

Recommended for all readers of romance.

Mary Jayne Preston is quite a firecracker.  Even when extremely  pregnant and in the worst predicament in which a woman can find herself, she has a cracking sense of humour that makes her a joy to read.  The man who’s gotten her into this situation had better watch out!

Daniel Anderson suffered beyond anything anyone could imagine when he lost his wife and unborn child in an accident.  But now that he has the feisty Mary Jayne in the family way, and a family is literally what she’s carrying, he has a second chance to have the love and the family of which he’d always dreamed.  But Mary Jayne isn’t going to step into another woman’s shoes so easily.

She’s strong and gutsy and ready to take on the world as a single mom.  And although Daniel’s a successful businessman and would make a great husband, she’s not sure if she can buckle down and settle for the white picket fence and the perfect family.  She’s a free spirit indeed.

I enjoyed revisiting Crystal Point and catching up with what my favourite characters are doing.  But be warned!  This is not what you might call a predictable story.

So what’s it to be?  Read and enjoy!  This family story is lots of fun.

The saying never say never comes true in this wonderful read from Helen Lacey. Mary-Jane Preston never does one night stands until she comes face to face with an out of control attraction that completely overpowers her. The attractions comes in the form of Daniel Anderson, he's devastatingly handsome , suave and everything a girl could want, except for the last four years he has made sure to never let his guard down, letting it slip will just bring tragedy to his life again.

So when Mary-Jane informs him that their one night stand has resulted in her being pregnant with twins , he 's all for marriage to make sure their twins are protected but falling in love with her is the one thing he refuses to do. But Mary-Jane doesn't just want his ring and his protection she wants his heart and fight to get it is what she will do.

This is one of those books that will stay with romance readers for a long time after the last page has been read. I adored the character of Mary-Jane, even with everything the world of an unexpected pregnancy brings she still holds her head high, and even still sees the humor in life. Spunky, fun and just so very likable, that I doubt any reader will be able to find fault with her.

Daniel was the one that my heart broke for, the heartache and loss he faced in the past really is something no one ever has to go through. He is a truly broken man and of course in desperate need of some serious tender loving care. But as we all know not every broken person wants to let anyone in so the author letting Mary-Jane be this really awesome in your face try and make me go away kin of character was really neat.

It's a stunning story of romance, new hope and all set within the perfect bubble of beautiful writing. I highly recommend this read for all lovers of romance journeys with powerful emotion and a message of there is always being a new tomorrow.

Ballroom To Bride And Groom by Kate Hardy

I'm personally not one to watch reality shows, I much rather prefer to keep my nose on the inside of a good book. But when I read the back-cover copy of this book and noticed it's about celebrity dancing I figured I might need to take a peak at the real thing before reading the book.

So I took a little peek at the shows first before I read this book and what I found was that I really love the heat and passion that goes into the dancing and just how addictive the on screen emotions between the dancers can be.

I was a bit concerned that I would not find the same heat and passion in the book as the on screen is of course more realistic and in a book if the author does not convey that same realism the read falls flat.

Kate Hardy however gave me every single bit of heat, passion and flare I wanted and the added bonus of romance blossoming between the main characters Polly and Liam was perfection!

Polly was a very delightful character, and her always smiling her way through everything got me thinking that smiling is definitely the best way to handle most upsets in life. Smile and your enemies will never know what you are really up to, however when Polly is alone and the smile is no longer needed it also showed me that dealing with everything by smiling and never letting yourself really show another emotion in the presence of others will eventually take their toll and let the whole world think you are a easy come what may person and if they hurt you it won't matter as you smile everything away.

Liam was awesome! I very much admired this character for his courage to get back up and out there again to prove a point and become what no one ever thought he would be. Through this character the author showed that all it takes is determination and hard work and in the end it will pay off.

I'm taking a message of life hits us hard sometimes but if we keep pushing to claw your way back up to the top you might just meet others along the way that will show you the direction you are actually meant to be going.

A very awesome cuddle up with your best bear romance read!

BALLROOM TO BRIDE AND GROOM by author Kate Hardy is Harlequin Romance and Mills & Boon Cherish release for February 2013.

Polly Anna Adams was officially 'resting' as in out of a job. Her fiancé told her there was no 'kaboom' in their relationship just days before they were supposed to get married. And then left her to pick up the pieces. Cancel all the wedding arrangements. Then her agent walked in and made her go to the audition of a TV celebrity dancing show.

Her dancing instructor was Liam Flynn. And meeting Liam, Polly felt the 'kaboom' but did Liam also felt that? He was trying to get his career off the ground after some set back. Would Liam let what he felt distract him from his career goal?

BALLROOM TO BRIDE AND GROOM takes a reader through the various dancing ways and I loved reading it. The chemistry between Polly and Flynn was scorching hot, while dancing and off the cameras. Author Kate Hardy brought to life a gorgeous hero hurt by past hurts and a strong, spritely heroine who also had baggage in her past. Then how she brings these two characters to their happy ever after is just fabulous to read.

Highly recommended for all lovers of romance.

Bound by a Baby- by Kate Hardy

Becoming a mother or father is never easy, your entire life changes and never gets back to normal. For most couples this is no problem as having a child is of course what they want.

But if your not ready for it, or even wanting it at all, right there is where it gets ticker than trying to figure out how to change a diaper if you have never done it before!

In this read from Kate Hardy she tells of how always seeing the good in everything Emmy and workaholic Dylan become parents to Tyler after the death of his parents.

Of course these two not being in a relationship makes it super interesting, as all parents know it is a romantic, love filled working together effort to raise a child. But what makes it even more interesting is Emmy and Dylan don't like each other at all!

And soon the sparks of indifference start to fly. Changing diapers, getting up all hours of the night and avoiding baby spit is the last of this explosive godparent-couple's worries.

I really, really loved this read. It was so sweet and heartwarming, and it hit all the aw sweet notes for me. I really loved Emmy to bits. Her always seeing the good in everything around her was brilliant, it was as if I was seeing everything the author was describing through Emmy's eyes, in a whole other light then what I usually look at things.

Dylan was super sweet, yes a bit of a jerk with the whole "I never want kids" attitude but of course with the childhood he had I could understand his insecurities. What really made me fall for this hero was his willingness to learn to take care of Tyler. No mater how much he disliked Emmy he still always kept the best interest of Tyler at heart and this made him the perfect make my knees go weak hero.

I particularity liked that the author let the story slowly build into a full out romance read. Some reads tend to build the don't like each other, to friend to more relationship pace too quickly and I feel as if I'm left with only half a story and as if I was cheated,  and instead of a full romance read I ended up with five chapters missing.

It' s fine when done in other types of read, as it all depends on the how quick the reader needs the read to be but in certain cases a book can be over ten chapters long and it still moves too fast and ruins the entire read, so a big thank you to Kate Hardy for taking the time to really WRITE this book!

I'm taking away a message of life is seen through the eyes of each person differently, you might not agree with how they see things but if you stop for long enough to try and see it the way they see it, you might just discover more about yourself and lean that you are more than capable of handling anything that comes your way.
