From Enemy's Daughter to Expectant Bride by Olivia Gates

From Enemy's Daughter to Expectant Bride

Reviewed by Desere

Rafael Salazar is back in Rio to seek revenge, he will destroy the man who stole his childhood. Then by a twist of fate he spies a beauty across the ballroom and passion overwhelms him.  Then comes the shock of discovering who she is, but even this is not enough to veer him off course, he will make her his.

Eliana Ferreira has never met a man quite like Rafael, he's powerful, unstoppable and simply irresistible. She knows there is a deep dark force that drives him and she should steer clear but she cannot deny him anything, that is until she discovers his terrible purpose. But it's too late, she's expecting his baby and is only days away from becoming his bride, will revenge tear them apart?

This was a romance read in true Oliva Gates style. Pure raw passion and overwhelming intensity.
The characters were strong, realistic and really shone from the pages. I really love how this author always takes characters to new heights.

It's as if she literally pulls them from the streets , sits them down , and starts writing around their personal stories, simply remarkable.

The character of Rafael was the magic in this book, this man is grabbed onto my heart and he still has not let go. I loved him for trying so hard to fight back against the cards life had dealt him, but even more for trying to prevent it happening to anyone else, he was like a dark prince among a glittering world of crime.

Eliana was a nice and slow character, but not too slow that she came off boring, she had the right balance of fire and ice , which of course made her super fun to read.

I am taking away a message of revenge can seem like the ultimate plan of attack, but nothing is always as it seems. Before you act , retrack and rethink it could be the difference between losing it all and gaining a lifetime of happiness.

I highly recommend this read for all fans of romance that love a remarkable set of characters, a fantastic enjoyable plot and a fabulous ending !

The Sarantos Baby Bargain by Olivia Gates

The Sarantos Baby Bargain

Naomi Sinclair fell for Andreas Sarantos , and am talking the so hard can't think about anything else kind of hard. Marrying him had seared her soul with pleasure but also despair as she discovered the man was incapable of love.

Their worlds drift apart until he shows up and uses the leverage of a his best friend's baby to bring Naomi back in to his life and his bed, and this time he plans on keeping her there forever.

But Naomi has been through this pleasure and no love runaround before and it's going to take much more to get her to stay, if only her heart will listen and not her body who craves the man incapable of love.

A very enjoyable read, with good intense emotional drama, an awesome hero and a likable heroine and a very nice reunion plot.

The character of Andreas was a real bad-ass kind but the kind that you knows appears tough because he sometimes has no choice but to be tough due to his background, but he also all kinds of sweet, kind and truly considerate. Yes, here and there he does come off as a little too mean towards Naomi but I feel that this was his inner fear coming to life at the thought of " If I don't toughen up I will lose her again".

I will also say that when he lost her the first time it was not about the kind of "I am letting her go because there is no hope for me to love her " situation but more about knowing he needs to let her go in order to protect her, which again brings forth just how very kind and deep the heart of this man is, as oppose to the tough exterior that the outside world sees. The combination of bad-ass - considerate was lethal enough to make me fall for this hero over and over and over again!

The character of Naomi was a stronger heroine than I thought she would be. I was expecting her to be a little more weak, considering that she is willing to change her life completely in order to be with the man she loves, which reminds me so much of those stories of woman who has one type of personality when with one guy and changes into a complete different person when they end up with someone new.

But those woman are usually weak and think that the love of a man makes them stronger but in order to gain the man's love they need to change. Breaking down your personality and rebuilding it each time someone new comes along will eventually in will only show you as weak, you need to stick to your guns and if the person cannot love you for you then there is no point. Compromise is good but not if you have to reinvent yourself completely.

I am taking away a message of life has all kinds of scenarios that play out. Some are for the best and others not so much. But which ever scenario plays out the reaction you take towards it will be what counts. If you decide to change it all in order to make it work to your advantage it will most likely work out according to plan but somewhere along the way it will come back to haunt you. And if you decide to play it by ear and take it one day at a time and stick to your strengths you will have a much more effective outcome and still be able to sleep at night.

I recommend this read for anyone that loves a good reunion story with lots of emotion, angst and a nice set of conflict scenes and good old fashioned passion popping from the pages. The book also includes a few twists and turns that I did not see coming , this showed the author still has that special magic we have come to love from her books!

Princes of Castaldini by Olivia Gates

Reviewed by Desere

Olivia Gates has always been able to transport me to a worlds of absolute stunning romances, she let's characters come to life in a way so strong and in your face that it is as if you can touch them for real.

In the Princes of Castaldini she took me on a journey of three brilliant, strong and magical men and the woman who bring them to their knees.

In The Once and Future Prince I was introduced to Prince Leandro, he had gone into exile and nothing and no one can make him come out, that is until his ex lover Phoebe is sent to convince him to accept the crown and carry out his duty. But Leandro has other plans, he will let go of exile only if Phoebe carries out his every wish, if she dares.

In The Prodigal Prince's Seduction Prince Durante is no stranger to incredible offers, but the latest one is attached to a woman sent to bring him back to Castaldini to be king. He has no intention of returning to be king, but resisting Gabrielle now that will never do. And after one magical night he is convinced she is meant to rule by his side, after all if he absolutely has to be king then at least he can have a hot woman by his side as his queen. That is the plan, until he finds out her true identity and it all comes crumbling down.

In The Illegitimate King we meet Prince Ferruccio and Princess Clarissa, six years ago she scorned him and he had sworn he would make her pay. The time has come but once he gets his revenge will he be able to let her go?

I loved this entire series from start to finish. It was so very romantic, emotional and passionate. I fell head over heals in love with all the characters, the far off lands and the heartbreak of the Princes having to face everything they simply do not want. I felt each and every emotion of the woman when they needed to face their princes in shining armor.

I am taking away a message of we all have duties in life, sometimes we have no other choice but to face up to them, we can run but we can never hide. It won't break us but make us stronger for when we need to face decisions that are so much harder then duties.

I highly recommend this series for all fans of romance who love a fantastic escape into the world of royal love and compassion.

The read as the title suggests is about Mohab Aal Ghaanem, who once he had his Princess, Jala, but a bitter feud between their families caused him to lose her, and now he has to do everything he can to seduce her back into his life.

But Jala is not so sure she wants to marry the man who had betrayed her trust , she does not however count on Mohab not only being irresistible but dead set on bringing home his Princess.

This was a short read, the kind that fits nicely into a few stolen reading hours in the late afternoon. I found the characters well crafted and very touching. The author added a little blackmail to spice things up and keep my attention.

What grabbed my attention the most was that Mohab was not arrogant as the hero's in these reads usually are, he was more sweet, kind and I honesty felt that he was genuinely upset at this betrayal and I just loved how he pushes every button he can to get Jala back, yet does so with truly clarity and sincerity.

Jala was kind and sweet and I felt sorry for her having to try and figure out if Mohab was honestly trying to gain her back and if his apology was real or simply part of a plan. Through both character the author showed that if we let the past hold us back from trying to trust someone again, it can have dire consequences.

Yes they hurt you, yes they destroyed your trust, but is holding them to that one error in judgement in life, worth the heartache and despair? Or is letting go and moving on less exhausting?

I recommend this read for all fans of Olivia Gates reads, the author tells a stunning story of old flames being reignited .

A hot sexy Russian hero, a super fabulous plot with lots of twists and turns and an explosive ending that will leave you in complete awe, yes this book had it all and so much more.

Definitely one of the most intense reads of the year! The book tells the story of Caliope and Maksim, brought together by a fierce attraction their raging passionate nights leads to Cali becoming pregnant but instead of the normal he will do anything to be with her and the baby the author took this read in a whole other direction.

Maksim will claim the child as his heir but does not want to be part of it's life, but he will be around for Cali as long as she will have him.

So when he suddenly disappears Cali is convinced something terrible happened to him, after all he said he would be with her till their passion fades with the baby only in the background
( yes I know this sounds incredible and believe me it was the plot of the year).

A year goes by and suddenly Maksim is back, but standing on Cali's doorstep is not the man she fell in love with, he is only half the man she knew, when he reveals the reason for leaving Cali is not only in shock but also a state of utter confusion., Maksim wants her and the baby and a marriage. Why now and not before? And how is she meant to make this decision without it being a direct reflection to her mother's past?

The character of Maskim was truly mind blowing-ly fascinating! I truly could not get enough of this hero. Strong, sexy and confident the one minute and helpless and a heap of sorrow the next. His reasoning for taking off then just popping back up made him a very intriguing hero and his kind and caring nature touched my heart.

But what I found most fascinating was the inner battle he fights with himself in wanting to be with Cali but not wanting to hurt her. This reminded me that in real life it is what each and everyone of us do, we want, need and crave but in an attempt to not face failure we try to control the future and of course this is impossible and in the process our attempts cause more damage.

The character of Cali was brilliant. Strong and always ready to push for what she wants and needs, but also always alert to know when it is time to stop pushing and rather start re-directing those in her life ready to meddle in her happiness. I absolutely adored how the author let Cali have this hangup with her mother and the actions she takes in life, it showed her as I think most woman are, afraid to turn into their mothers yet when faced with similar circumstances the true understanding into their mothers actions becomes a clear and very vivid reality, opening the road to understanding.

The backdrop settings were simply amazing! Each and every setting was mouthwatering, laced with so much vivid description it left me in a state of wonder and wanting to be right there to see what was being described, but with the exquisite descriptions it was as if I truly was!

The dialogue was filled with such heartbreaking emotion and intensity it left me in tears more than once both of sorrow and joy. The most amazing of all was the twists and turns of this read, just when I thought I had it figured out the author would take it to a whole new level which reminded me that this is exactly what real life is like, it is never the perfect road , and therefore this read was as real as it gets and I found it simply brilliant.

But it did also leave me with quite a number of stares in my direction when a twist happened and I would shout out a big ear piercing "NO!" yes I truly believe the others in the room thought me completely mad. For me this just meant that the author truly wrote a masterpiece and I was completely entranced.

I am taking away a message of  tragedy can strike at any time and our perfect happy lives can become bleak and meaningless but we have no control of the when or where or what and for this reason it is of the highest importance to always live each day to the fullest and be with the ones we love for tomorrow they may be gone.

I highly recommend this read for all fans of romance so intense and filled with the wonder of life, you will be in trapped in world of pure brilliant romance! Sensual, sexy, passionate, spicy and simply beautiful!

Just when you believe all will end well between these two, this story takes a very emotional rollercoaster ride. And this reader was holding her breathe and praying for a great outcome. Then Maksim once again breaks Cali’s heart.

Olivia does any amazing job of writing characters with deep emotions. She was able to showcase their strengths and weaknesses and the passionate obsession with each other.  Review by TashNz

Claiming His Own by Olivia Gates is one of the most intense-est, highly emotional and gripping reads I've had the pleasure in reading in quite a while.  The opening chapter alone took me on a ride from complete and utter happiness to sheer devastation in a heartbeat.  And that's just the start.  Olivia has done a fantastic job of taking me on a total roller-coaster of a ride.  One minute I'm happy Caliope is feeling on top of the world, next minute I'm almost throwing myself on the floor sobbing at the unfairness of life, thru to wide eyed wonder and what Maksim has been thru (both past and present).

I heap the praise on Olivia Gate's writing.  I think Olivia has done an outstanding job at making the Russian language sound so beautiful and romantic.  The words just roll off Maksim's lips and they just sound devine. Olvia's skill at describing feelings is so realistic.  I could feel the pain each person suffered.  A couple of words made me clearly remember what it was like to have a newborn baby and no Daddy in the picture and the utter loss and uselusness one feels when this occurs due to no fault of your own.  The descriptions of Maksim as he told his stories, oh wow!  The heart dropping moments and the happy moments, brilliantly written.

Absolutely LOVED the way the first chapter opened.  Wow!  It was a fantastic set up because it really did portray Maksim as a king on top of the world, what he wants he gets, he's fearless and strong with a massive presence about him.  Caliope was a great female character, she knows the score with Maksim and the moment leading up to her telling Maksim she's pregnant had my heart pounding in wonder of how he'd react.

Dont let the cover fool you, this is not a sweet and lovey-dovey baby mama romance book, it's a powerful and passionate ride where your heart is torn in two with every flick of the page.  If you're a fan of Sweet Romance this is not the book for you.  If you love depth, angst, emotion, mixed in with sheer pleasure, happiness and wonder, then this IS the book for you :)

Conveniently His Princess (Married by Royal Decree, #2)

I have been a big fan of Olivia Gates for a while now. And I loved her First book in the series titled To Tame A Sheikh. And figured this one would be just as good if not better. But I have to admit I was somewhat disappointed. There were parts of this book that were really good, other parts not so much.

Aram Nazaryan has always considered Zohayd home. But after being slandered by Maysoon his ex fiancĂ© he left the country he had grown to love. Ten years later Aram is being offered the chance to return to Zohayd as the Minister of Economy but in order for Aram to take the job he needs to either be Zohaydan or marry a Zohaydan Princess. His best friend Shasheen, whom also happens to be his brother in law has the perfect solution marry Kanza, “Kanza the Monster”

Kanza Aal Ajmaan is no monster. She was given the nickname by her spoiled self-centered half sister Maysoon. She is stunningly beautiful, nothing like the eighteen year old Aram remembers. Kanza had fallen in love with Aram but after the way he humiliated Maysoon ten years ago Kanza wants nothing to do with him.

Shasheen and Johara think that Aram and Kanza would make a perfect match.  So Johara sets a plan in motion to have these two meet. And after coming face to face with Kanza, Aram definitely wants her as his wife. But what will happen to her marriage when Kanza learns the truth behind it?

At first I struggled to get into the story. There would be a few brief glimpses of the Olivia Gates writing style that I fell in love with. But the book did not have an even flow to it. The Wedding was just corny for lack of a better word. The first parts of the book wasted so much time on what Aram was thinking. At times there seemed to be a lack of chemistry between the Hero and Heroine. But once these two hooked up it really took off. The passionate scenes were very well written. The banter between these two was interesting. I will continue to be a big fan of Olivia’s and this book is worth reading, it just was not her best.

As some woman will tell you it happens each and every day to more woman than you think. You meet the man of your dreams, your life seems perfect and definitely heading in the right "white picket fence" direction or in the case of Glory the "perfect palace life" direction but it all comes crashing down quicker and you fall harder than you ever imagined.

In the latest read from the brilliant Olivia Gates she takes us deep into the life of what happens when the man of your dreams discards you like yesterdays royal trash and then comes crawling back years later with a proposition of marriage.

The characters of both Glory and Vincenzo were well written staring in a truly spectacularly created masterpiece!

I loved how the author took people from different worlds and showed that once loved never forgotten can be the difference between a happy ending and a tragic loss.

I loved how the author took a "heartless" badboy Prince and changed him into a man any woman would be proud to call her husband, layering back the pieces of a heart once broken by the thought of betrayal and revealing a love so strong that it can never be shattered.

I felt true sorrow and compassion for Glory as the author revealed to me as reader the pure heart-wrenching pain she goes through when Vincenzo discarded her the first time, but I was also very happy to see that this made her stronger and more of a fighter in fighting for what she believes in.

The backdrop setting was calm and inviting letting the book flow without any thought of this setting just does not feel right for the book.

The dialogue was fun at times, down right cruel when the truth is revealed but also filled with emotion so strong it brought tears to my eyes and I could feel the pain of the characters and actually hear their hearts breaking.

This author has once again proven why she is a international best selling author, her books have the ability to take you to a whole new world of romance with a twist so unexpected it will leave you simply breathless and begging for more.

I highly recommend this read for all fans of Olivia Gates books and also those who love a emotionally packed romance with a truly magical ending.

With only a couple of months to find a wife, the Prince decides Glory will be his wife. So what if he needs to blackmail her into marriage.

Glory Monaghan fell in love with Prince Vincenzo at first sight. There has been no other for her. She is more than devastated when he throws her out of his life. Especially when she doesn't understand why. So imagine her shock when the one person she never thought to see again shows up at her door six years later, blackmailing her into marriage. My heart just broke for Glory's character. Not understanding why the Prince ended things and for the hurtful things he said to make her believe it was over. The one thing these two can agree on, is that the passion for each other never died. It is just as strong as ever. Neither one of these two, had gotten over their love in the time that they were apart. And Prince Ferruccio, well he truly becomes a Prince to love by the time everything comes to light.

Olivia writes strong characters in Temporarily His Princess.I also loved the banter between these two, even though some of the things said when breaking up were harsh, at other times they were very humorous. And I have to admit there was a twist to the story, that I did not see coming. I thought there was more, but my mind was going elsewhere. I will not post because I don't want to ruin the story for others. I look forward to reading more novel by Olivia!
