The Heat is On
by Katie Rose

Loved this read. Delighted to see it’s part of a series. Can definitely be read as a stand alone.

Pro baseball player, Connor Jackson has come home. He’s come home to play his last series of baseball and hopefully win the world series with the New Jersey Sonic's, but most importantly he has come home to take the make gamble of his life and try win the game of life and love with his college girlfriend Tracy Coleman.

Going out to dinner both Connor and Tracy are surprised how easy it is to pick up where they left off and they talk and talk and simmering below is mutual attraction. But Connor doesn’t know what Tracy’s life is like now except that she is happily divorced. Fifteen years is a long time but to both time feels just like yesterday when they were kids in College.

Tracy Coleman is a happily divorced mother of 4. Yes you did read that correctly and what ensues is quite a realistic tale of a single bachelor looking up his old girlfriend who turns out to be a mother of 4. Tracy is reluctant to mention her children so early in the piece, she needs to figure out where this is going first. But as you know secrets have a way of exposing themselves and in the story, quite hilariously. Tracy is frightened Connor is going to run straight for the hills.

When Connor discovers Tracy is a Mum he takes it in his stride and I quite liked his way of looking at things. He was a strong character who was extremely likable and who I praise for sticking up for his loved ones when it counted. I loved his totally hilarious ways of dealing with kids and the adventure or two they went on and seeing things from his point of view.

I really liked the author’s portrayal of a proud mum with four kids and the battles faced with a divorce, the oldest and wisest son being upset and the effects the divorce had on him and the psycho ex also added a great angle. Realistic in a great read kind of way. Being a Mum myself I could totally relate.
The feelings Tracy felt were believable and I was totally caught up in the story, not realising how many chapters I’d read. Interspersed with Connor and Tracy’s story was Connors journey with the Sonics. I really enjoyed this and thought the trials and tribulations with a difficult team and players all panned out and I really got caught up in it.

I’m stoked to be reading a new author and will definitely be checking out the other books in the series and I highly recommend this one. It was a delight to read with realistic moments of life with kids and with likeable characters who you just wanted to both have their happy ever after. I liked the secondary characters just as much and will be looking them up.

What a great story this is it is the first book I have read by this author but it won't be the last and this book is no 4 in The Bad Boys of Summer series but can be read as a stand alone and I will be reading the first ones in the series.

Pro-Baseball player Connor Jackson is thinking about retirement and decides to go back to his home town for his last year but there is also someone else back home his college sweetheart that he left behind to make it big in the baseball league he knows from his parents that she is now divorced and is determined to make it work this time but there are four reasons that may make this a bit harder than he thought can Connor open up his heart to all of them.

Tracy Coleman Carter is a divorced mother of four young children and finding it tough but she has great support in her family and best friend and of course her children mean everything to her but when her college sweetheart pro-baseball player Conner Jackson walks back into her life the spark is still there but there is a lot to think about before they can look to a future together especially with her ex causing problems.

Firstly this is an emotional and very sensual story the hero Connor is such a caring fabulous hero and Tracy has so much at stake if she re-kindles her love for Connor but that love between them has never waned it is still there as strong as it was. The author has bought the characters in this one to life so much so that you will be crying laughing and smiling not only that but I was on the edge of my seat through the baseball games as if I was there (and I don't know a lot about baseball). I highly recommend this book it was a fabulous read and I look forward to more in the series.

5/5 stars for a great story.

The reads tells of Stephanie Adams, as any good mother will do she hides her unhappy marriage from her family in order to spare her children from seeing their family spit. But it's not easy being the devoted mother, life is hard and unkind.

But then life offers an escape, her husband suddenly passes away and it's her chance to alter her life for the better. The better life comes in the form of country music megastar Chase Taylor.

He shows her passion, teaches her there is more to life then just being a mother and ultimately Stephanie sees her life becoming what she has always wanted it to me. But can her family find it in their hearts to let her go and allow her to really live her life for the first time in forever?

CountryThis was one of the prettiest DS reads ever! It had depth, emotion, passion and a story so beautiful it brought me to tears. But sadly the book did also have it's annoying features such as this happens , then that happens then this person does that and this one does this , which is all normal in any read but not if keeps getting repeated over and over.  Non the less the plot was interesting enough to keep me interested and therefore I kept going and in the end I can honestly say this was one of DS's better reads.

As I said definitely the prettiest because it was so nice , sometimes too nice, but when I say nice I mean nice where it certainly had to be, but on some scenes the niceness was a little too much and it felt a little overdone.

Now let's forget about the over sugar coated and nasty repeating business and let me tell you what made this book worth the read., simply put it's the message!

A message of just when you think " This is my life, I am in a loveless marriage, or I will always be a single mom " , whatever the issue is there is beauty in tragedy.  For that message alone I will reread this book over and over , because the author reminded me that there is always hope, there is always guidance we simply need to keep the faith.

Recommended for all DS fans!

The Greek's Last Redemption by Caitlin Crews (Chatsfield #13)

Greek's Last Redemption
by Caitlin Crews
Theo is beyond angry when his ex wife skypes him. It's a first for her, a new antic, and he's annoyed there's more than likely going to be another drama she will cause as a result. Holly has been nothing but a severe pain in his side for the last four years but the last thing he will grant her is a divorce. It's the one thing in the world she wants and he's not having it! Incensed is pretty much how Theo feel's if his thoughts dare to stray to Holly. Threatening to take half of his empire with her in the divorce settlement if he doesn't agree to meet, Theo furiously arranges they meet at Barcelona Chatsfield, the place of their exquisite honeymoon.

I adore the passion and angst and drama that Caitlin Crews packs into her stories, I am a HUGE fan of dramatic and highly emotionally charged stories in which the couple are separated and coming back into each other's spheres. They're my most favorite type of story in this genre. Caitlin Crews captured the emotion perfectly in Greek's Last Redemption.

Theo is beyond furious with Holly and how she ruined their marriage, he loved her from here to the moon and back times a million. I felt that with every emotional word I read. He was so passionate about his love it makes one only dream of even half being loved like that... which I guess is why I couldn't quite give this amazing story 5 stars... I couldn't quite understand Holly's thinking... which i cant explain without giving everything away. It niggled in the back of my mind, she had the world and she threw it all away.

Don't let my thoughts on that stop you from reading this amazing story - especially if you love the highly charged and passionately emotional reunion stories. Theo! There are no words. Holly was lovely too, a lovely character. The beautiful surroundings of Spain were described so wonderfully.

The Harrington is also featured as well as Spencer Chatsfield and Isabelle Harrington who's story is Chatsfield Ultimate Acquisition by Melanie Milburne.

4.5 shiny bright stars.

A must read; don't pass go; could not put it down! Perfect story! AAARRRGH I loved it soooo much!

First thing I loved is how opposite this is to normal stories.  Natalie throws caution to the wind, she's like you know what? Bugger everything, I deserve ME time, I deserve the fantasy, I deserve for a week of my life to be perfect!  How often do we think this?  And whole heartedly jumps feet first into a quick fling with Dimitri, brother of her boss.  No strings they agree and it all goes along swimmingly until Dimitri finds out Natalie's closely guarded and heavily protected secret.

I loved Dimitri's sass and character, with the perfect touch of humor to make him a lovable and very dimensional character.  He has to be one of my favorites!

Natalie is portrayed perfectly, there wasn't anything I didn't like about her and her outlook on life totally captured my attention.  We all want our dreams to come true even for a little while and I loved the concept of the story being that Natalie does just that!

This wonderfulness, fantasy, perfection that Natalie discovers with Dimitri comes to a grinding crashing halt when Natalie's world is exposed and then when things cant get any worse, they do when Dimitri's family finds out he's cavorting with the staff.  Having enough of his carefree don't give a damn attitude Dimitri's family turn their back on him, and Dimitri finds himself where he always fears he would end up - alone!

Beautifully crafted plot, page turning writing and wonderfully written characters pour from the pages as we discover a new Dimitri as he finally faces his demons and chases after what means the most to him in the world which ends in a beautiful conclusion.

Dimitri's siblings have been covered in other books by Dani Collins and if you haven't read them you sure will want to after completing this one because they are all mentioned enough to help you become familiar with Dimitri's family.

It's a horrible winter weekend here and I totally planned to do a lot of reading while I'm sick with a cold, but I'm so reluctant to because I don't want to leave them behind :(

I received an ARC for my honest opinion and I can honestly say, I loved every single word I read, every giggle to be had and every heart breaking moment I read.  6 stars really!

Every woman heck every man even , has a fantasy they dream about. It's usually in the dead of night when no one is around to hear you accidentally say the dream out loud or do something stupid like make a facial expression that borders on your 'sex face'.

In the new Dani Collins read we meet Natalie Adams and we are taken straight into her fantasy when it becomes reality as she embarks on an affair in Paris with infamous billionaire Demitri Makricosta, reality surpasses her wildest dreams and it's a memory she will always treasure.

But Demitri has other ideas, one night isn't enough and to quench his new found Natalie-diction he suggests she becomes his mistress. Natalie is course thrown off kilter but show me the woman that will say no to a hot billionaire when she has nothing to lose, but the closer Natalie get's to the emotions that Demtri has carefully locked away the more he distracts her with dazzling gifts and a life of luxury holidays to ensure that seduction is the only that remains between them. But can he really carry on with this little game of seduction only or is Natalie getting to his closed off heart ?

The author wrote a very enjoyable read, I very much liked Natalie. She was the kind of heroine most woman think they can be when they get burned in life, but as all woman know, when the time comes it doesn't seem that you are able to really be the person you always told yourself you would be should you get burned. She had spunk but not the overwhelming large dose that some heroine's have, nope just enough to let me know that she will fight to have her little fantasy but she also won't let it shift her focus from her child to the point where she will be a ' it's all about my love life and not what's best for my child' kind of mother .

Demitri was of course the typical bastard hero found in the HP line, but he he had a lot more depth than most. The author did a fantastic job of taking this tortured black heart hero with all his emotional closure and turning him into this remarkable man that no woman can resist, and the man certainly had me weak at the knees when he goes from tortured to saved! Loved it!!

Strong characters, wonderfully crafted plot and a great ending to a beautiful journey of redemption, self discovery and best of all a stunning message of life being full of surprises and when reality comes knocking it's never what our fantasies were, it's always so much better !

I really enjoyed this story I loved the setting starting in Paris the City of love and maybe fantasies for Natalie Adams single Mum who is working for a few weeks in Paris setting up a new IT programme for the Makricosta Hotel chain she works in one of the Canadian Hotels and jumped at the chance for this job every girl has her dream.

Demitri Makricosta is in Paris at the hotel he runs the marketing side of things and I feel is wounded from a terrible childhood he has lots of one night stands never thinking that he will ever settle down like his siblings have that life is not for him.

But things change for Demitri the instant he hears Natalie laugh he must have her and is this the answer to Natalie's fantasy?. This is a story that is very emotional and very sensual as Natalie and Demitri learn so much about each other and themselves Natalie is honest and fiery and opens up emotions in Demitri that he has kept locked away for so long and Demitri wants to do so much for Natalie as she deserves and this makes him very happy yes this is a story that will have you turning the pages and cheering them on as they journey to that wonderful HEA.

Dance of Love by Inge Saunders

Auditioning for anything in life is the stuff nightmares are made of! If it's dancing you could fall and literally break a leg! If it's a movie audition heck you could end up saying the lines for the wrong movie, anything is possible when a person is nervous.

In this read, which comes in at twenty chapters, which I will add were nice and short and not dragged out to the point where I wanted to pull my hair out and end up looking like some bad version of Miley Cyrus, the world of dance is brought to life.

The read tells of Ashley and the journey she embarks on fulfilling her dream of becoming a world - class dancer. But as all dreamers know there is always something or someone that stands in the way, for Ashley it's Antonio Machiavelli, and his resounding " It's a no from me" is enough to send any wannabe straight into a fit of nightmares.

But Ashley is not your everyday " Okay maybe next time" kind of wannabe, she fights back by challenging Antonio and takes her anger and rage and channels it into a a on the edge of your seat performance.  Antonio is more than just a little intrigued and very soon it becomes clear that keeping his distance from Ashley will not be as easy and step, step and turn ! And as for Ashley she knows her sole focus needs to be on fulfilling her dream of becoming a lead principal but love makes everything so much harder.

I very much enjoyed this little read, I am not a major fan of books that involves dancing but occasionally I do come across one that has all the right moves.  This read is a wonderful journey of two souls meant to be together, and a lovely message of dreams not always being what we think they should be.

People change and as they do their dreams have to adjust, of course everyone knows that when our dreams try to tell us it's time for a new kind of dream or for a little different version of our dream, it's not always easy for us to listen. We might have had our dream for so long that it seems impossible to alter it in anyway.

The author very nicely showed how dreams can change and that our dreams can still come true but with a little more of a kick along the way than what we expected it to be.

A very lovely and heartfelt read that's perfect for a little romantic escape.

Dance of Love by Inge Saunders is a wonderful read which took me inside the dance world, a world I know little of or have read little about and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Ashley decides it's time to pursue her life long dream of being a world class famous dancer and Dance of Love covers her journey of living her dream and the battles against the company principal she auditions for, Antonio.  Antonio treats Ashley a bit like mud.  Thinking at first he's against her because of who her father was Ashley is confused and then when they kiss the whirlwind of emotions is at an all time high, along with confusion.  Battling everything the world of dance throws at Ashley is intense but it makes her stand up and fight right back.

I loved the environment of the book - the dance world. The characters were bright and capturing and the story was very sweet and capturing. the story itself was like a dance, the pushing and pulling of emotions, the passion of the movements and the steady beat of the rhythm that built until the conclusion.

Read on a lazy Sunday morning, very much enjoyed and recommended for anyone who loves a sweet story which is full of character and passion for wanting to achieve ones dream.

One of the ultimate queen's of romance, Annie West, has once again shaken me to the very core of my soul with a stunning story of married for convenience but desperately in love with each other.

The read tells of Sheikh Tariq of Al-Sharath, on his slate he already has one miserable marriage, and does not need another repeat, his children however need a mother.

Princess Samira of Jazeer has had her share of love and passion, but it left a bitter aftertaste and she certainly does not need any further misery, the knowledge that she cannot have the children she always wanted, it's enough heartache to last her a lifetime.

Then she sees Tariq's children and her motherly instincts kick in. The deal of a lifetime is struck and it's the perfect tie-the-knot with a bow arrangement.

Tariq's children get the mother they need, and Samira can play mommy all day long. There is just one condition, Samira will only marry Tariq if there is to be no sex. Should not be too hard for Samira who does not like sex and for Tariq who is able to control everything in life including his darkest desires. But their overwhelming attraction to each other has other ideas ! But as they say with a past there is always resistance and when the bedroom doors close at night these two fight demons that seem stronger than their passion.

The character of Tariq was a very deep and emotional one, very well developed by the author. His feelings of being incapable of love were heartbreaking and very overwhelming to deal with, I wanted to say something or do something to show him that he is definitely more than capable of love. Of course I could not but I for darn sure tried really hard , yes that's right I shouted out at him and got quite the number of looks from those around me. His kind and tender nature towards his children really melted my heart and was more than enough prove that he is indeed very capable of loving, but of course it is a whole other game of love when it comes to Samira. Through this character the author showed that there is always love hidden somewhere deep inside everyone, even the hardest dead inside criminals have a little something hidden, it just takes the right person to let it shine.

The character of Samira was fabulous, strong willed, independent, and willing to take a risk, afraid the risk would fail her once again but willing non the less, which to me always shows a person as having more courage than they think they do, always interesting to read about. And her asking Tariq to marry her instead of the usual he asks her, loved the twist , it was really fun and fresh new way of getting my attention. Samira's ruined reputation did get to her, but only on that " I let the tears fall when the world is not looking" level, this made her very realistic and I think there are many female readers that will be able to really deeply connect with her, as did I. Through this character the author showed that life has a way of knocking you down so hard that you feel you will never be able to get back up, but there is always an opportunity that will come along that will give you the courage you never knew you had, to get up , take a risk and in the end walk away as a winner.

I highly recommend this read for all fans of romance reads that is filled with deep emotion, fabulous sexual tension, remarkable characters, a deep heartfelt journey of love and self discovery and passion so scorching hot the desert sands have never seen anything like it!

Book Two in the Society Weddings series.  Christian and Alessandra are introduced in book 1 with just enough details to make me curious so purchased this as soon as I could, especially after reading the excerpt.

First thing I loved about this story is the fantastic start to the story, Alessandra is the little sister to Book 1's hero, Rocco.  His three best friends know that the beautifully stunning Alessandra is 200% off limits but one night Alessandra acts on her simmering attraction to Christian and boom - firecrackers are shooting everywhere.  Given the title you can guess that as a result of the amazing magical night Alessandra has some unexpected news for Christian.  Due to his upbringing he swears no child of his will ever go through that and insists on marrying Alessandra, but prior to that - they must tell Rocco.  Which brings me to the second reason why I loved the book - telling Rocco the news.  Loved this part, so so brilliantly written and true to form how a big brother would act.

It swept me along on such an emotional rollercoaster that Michelle Smart is so clever with.  It was passionate and the background stories fitting in well.  I was on the ride all the way. I really loved Alessandra, she has a lot to contend with, her father, her grandfather, her brother and now Christian, not to mention trying to build a career as a professional photographer.  Being pregnant and not knowing what the future holds except knowing that she's developing more and more stronger feelings for Christian while he is more and more rejecting her.

Well written, a fabulous read, especially if you love emotion and intensness, drama and beautiful locations.  Strong characters and  wonderfully woven and connected stories.  Very much looking forward to Stefan's story, especially after reading an excerpt of he and Clio, and knowing that Zayed (from book 4) is telling Clio he knows something's wrong and he doesnt have to give her away to Stefan.

Pure addictive passion,  romance of the most sensual kind, words that flow like magic and characters so vividly brought to life they seem to be people we have know for many years, those are just a few of the descriptions I can use when speaking about the new Michelle Smart read.

The story tells of the gorgeous Greek Christian Markos, long ago he swapped the streets of Athens for the world's top boardrooms, now  he has enough riches to indulge in his every whim, except one. He can't buy it, but he can take it! The only trick would be to let go of it and not want to own it forever, it's doable, right?

Wrong one forbidden taste of his best friend's sister, Alessandra Mondelli and he is lost in her magic, but he's always been all about get the task done and get out, it's what keeps him alive and living more than comfortably. But then Alessandra announces she's pregnant with his child! This is one deal he won't be walking away from, ever.

Alessandra knows about pain, hurt and anger after a youthful mistake , it was public scrutiny she never wanted yet could not avoid. Christian offers her and their baby protection, but she must push all thoughts of love aside, except their dishonorable hunger for each other is threatening the convenient arrangement, is there any hope ?

I love Michelle's books and every time I know am in for a excellent read, but what I did not expect this time around was that she took her writing to a very new level of excellence. There were little twists and turns I could see coming , but instead of going the normal way I would expect it to run in a HP read, it went into directions I never imagined, and I could not have been happier.

The author weaved this journey of two souls that always were meant to be together, into a absolutely unbelievably journey of hope, compassion, a romance blossoming during a time of self discovery and heartship

I fell head over heals in love with both main characters , I wanted to see them be pushed to their limits and the author delivered this on each and every step of this remarkable read. I got to experience every emotion, every touch, felt every word whisper across the night sky as the author brought to life a romance so strong, so needed and so real.

I am taking away a message of life has little ways to push us into a corner we would rather run from than stand around taking hit after hit, but with no way out the only action you need to take is to hit back, keep going until you are freed.

I highly recommend this read for all fans of romance, and if you have never read any of this author's books then my dear reading friends you are missing out on journeys filled with pure magic and vital to keeping our romantic hearts beating.

The Sheikh's Sinful Seduction by Dani Collins

The Sheikh's Sinful Seduction (Seven Sexy Sins #2)

Reviewed by Desere

No emotion or feelings are allowed to color the judgement of Sheikh Zafir, his carnal desires must be curbed for the sake of peace in his kingdom. But his control is tested beyond it's limits by the feisty Fern Davenport, he must have her !

Innocent Fern Davenport tries to resit the Sheikh's skillful seduction, she knows he can never marry her. But under the blistering sun an incendiary thirst awakens and one incredible night results in a very lasting consequence. Now the disgraced Sheikh must claim his heir and his bride!

This was a very nice easy flowing read with great and realistic characters. A wonderful plot with some really interesting twits and turns that I expected from the author, as she does the whole twisting and turning thing in many of her reads, but what surprised me is that it was not the twists and turns I thought it would be, I would expect one thing to happen and completely the opposite would happen, absolutely fabulous work Dani!

I felt really sorry for the character of Zafir, giving up what you want is never easy, it 's even harder if you have to give it up simply because it's what your country expects of you, and far worse when it's something that has become a vital part to your existence. So when the author let Zafir stand up and take a leap towards pulling an already complicated relationship to some form of normality , I really admired this hero. Through this character the author showed that sometimes pushing just a little harder than usual can have the end results needed towards the first step to freedom.

Fern was a very kind and sweet heroine, think white puffy clouds and sweet strawberry ice-cream, yes she had all those sugar coatings needed to me her a very likable heroine. Of course she had her very own set of issues , but instead of making seem like one of those " sweet, kind and shy yet a little too innocent to the extent that she cannot stand up for herself" kind of heroine, which quite frankly I have never cared for, she was the opposite.  A strong yet kind heroine, not too shy to be pushed around and smart enough to 'nail' Zafir when he most needed to be given a bit of a slap.  Through this character the author showed that the innocent are only innocent until the they are pushed too far, that's when they start fighting back and the results is a person that can never be forgotten or easily trampled to the ground.

I recommend this read for all fans of Dani Collins books, it was sinfully sexy and took me on a incredible journey of love conquering all.
