The Sheikh's Convenient Princess (Romantic Getaways #4)
Reviewed by Helen

MS Fielding has done it again written a story that will take you on a magical journey where we get to know a handsome Sheikh and the life he leads and get to know how caring he is I have to admit I do have a very soft spot for a Sheikh and Bram ticks all of the boxes and sends tingles up my spine.
Sheikh Ibrahim (Bram) al-Ansari has lived in exile from his family after disgracing himself five years ago he was a great sportsman and all round good guy but suddenly he made this mistake and he pulls himself out of the limelight and leads a life of hard work. But when there is a chance of reconciliation with his father that he really wants but that means a chosen bride, Bram decides to take a risk and choose a convenient Princess his new temporary PA MS Ruby Dance and makes her an offer that she decides to take.
Ruby Dance is the best PA around and works for an agency she is one of The Garland Girls and she only works temporary for clients for a reason she has secrets that she keeps close and does not talk about so when she is suddenly sent to the small country Qa’lat al Minaá to help out Sheikh Ibrahim her life is about to be turned upside down and their first meeting is so good Ruby is such a strong heroine caring and vey attuned to what is going on.
This is such a lovely story beautifully written the scenery is fabulous the hero and heroine Bram and Ruby come to life on the pages they are smart and caring their journey is sensual and moving as both open up about their pasts and fall deeply for each other and what a courtship they are going to have. Thank you MS Fielding for another keeper I loved this one

Liz Fielding writes with depth and maturity of an author who knows her stuff which in turn makes for an story which has depth of characters mixed with an exciting plot full of exquisite places, words and feeling.

Bram and Ruby are the stunning characters for a convenience marriage story which swirls of love and romance that left me with a smile! The plot may be standard but the way everything is described and laid out make it amazing and a read that you're sorry to finish. Their background stories were enjoyable and their path to be together was well deserved.

Liz writes a wonderful Sheikh and I highly recommend this book to all romance lovers.

A really fun connection between the main characters makes Liz Fielding's upcoming release a joy to read. Not only are we watching a romance spark, but we catch ourselves smiling quite often at the sass this couple shows towards each other. Really enjoyed them! The only thing I was left wanting was a little more time with them!

Once banished from his home country, Sheikh Ibrahim al-Ansari knows he can't return home without a bride on his arm unless he wants to be forced into marriage with the woman his estranged father has chosen for him. He lucks into the fact that his new temporary assistant fits his needs to a tee and has agreed to a temporary marriage of convenience!

Ruby Dance has her own painful past that she lives every day running from, so if she can help Bram to rectify past mistakes and reunite with his family, she is all for it. Neither of them expect to actually fall for each other when they are spending time preparing for their trip, but when it happens, will they decide to make their marriage a real one?

Can it possibly happen…From the Sheikh Secretary....To the Sheikh’s wife?
Ruby Dance prefers to work temporary secretary jobs. She has been cheated on by her last boyfriends and now avoiding all commitments. When she has been sent to fill in for the secretary who was working for Sheikh Ibrahim al-Ansari as his regular one had suffered serious injuries and yet when the Sheikh needs her for more than his secretary she thinks of her family and what this promotion could do for them so she says yes.
Sheikh has not been in good graces with his father and to get back he must marry his father’s choice of bride for him but if he gets married before meeting with his father that would save him from that choice.
Sheikh has a history of being a play boy and Ruby knows this. He needs that instant wife and she consents to being that.
When the need for the wife no longer is needed, will Ruby be able to walk away as she is very interested in the Sheikh? Will the Sheikh be able to walk away from Ruby too?
Liz Fielding once again writes a love story worthy of more than the 5 stars I was able to give it.

Disgraced, disinherited and exiled "Bram" Aka Sheikh Ibrahim is summoned home for his fathers birthday.  Its an opportunity to mend the breach between them but it comes with secret deal, he is to marry a women chosen by his father.  Ruby Dancer comes to work for Bram as his PA when his gets injured skiing.  She has a past that left scars so being a temp PA works for her as she is always on the move. The scenes between the two of them will have you smiling and you will become totally immersed in the story. What transpires from this point is such a wonderful story that you have to read without spoilers.  Lets just say Bram and Ruby will find out that sometimes two wounded souls can be healed by the love they never thought they would find.  Ms. Fielding has written so many fantastic books but I think this is one of my favorites and I believe you will also , and also find yourself feeling for Ruby and  falling for Bram.  A keeper.

Vettori's Damsel in Distress by Liz Fielding

Review by TashNZ

What a beautiful story!  When I started this book I parked myself up on my back deck in the sun (surprising since it was winter) and read until the sun started setting, I was that captured by Dante and Geli's story.

Lost, alone, devastated Angelica walks into a cafe... the apartment she'd signed up for was non existent, the letting fee she'd paid was gone!  Something about Angelica caught Dante's eye, in fact something about her caught everyone's attention.  Before she (or he) knows it Dante has offered Angelica a place to stay upstairs and basically from there a beautiful story unfolds.  Two opposites attract and the author does a brilliant job of capturing my attention and holding my focus for the rest of the afternoon.

I want to liken this story to the feeling you feel when you're in the middle of winter and you're all snuggled up by the fire or in your duvet and while is blowing and hailing outside, you're absolutely warm and toasty.  THAT is how I feel about Vettori's Damsel in Distress and as someone who's read Anything But Vanilla I love the linkage.

Beautiful story - highly recommended.

This is a beautiful story in a beautiful setting you will be smiling throughout this one it brings warmth and cheers into your heart as Dante and Geli journey to such a great HEA.

Geli has arrived in the small town of Isola in Milan for a fresh start she is a fashion designer and wants to start in the city that is know for fashion she is the youngest Amery sister and now that they are both married with families of their own and her beloved grandmother is settled it is time for Geli to begin hers. But of course nothing seems to run smoothly the weather has tuned very cold when she arrives and the apartment that she has rented is not there and she has rescued a kitten and her Italian is not the best things are not looking good but when she steps into a café that is warm and friendly this will change her life forever Geli is such a positive person full of smiles and love and her rescuer Dante Vettori is drop dead gorgeous.

Dante had been through a lot in his life he loves this town of Isola and is doing what ever he can to keep the old world style and stop the developers he is loved by everyone in the town but after his last relationship turns sour he is single and staying that way that is until a damsel in distress walks into his café covered in snow and in need of help.

"Vettori's Damsel in Distress" by Liz Fielding is a light hearted, quick read. Perfect for young adults reading romance or if you just enjoy a good romance story. No graphic sex scenes but it really isn't needed in this story.

Angelica Amery "Geli" to those who know her. She has come to Milan to start a new life away from her sisters, and their family happiness. When she gets there she finds that she's been scammed out of an apartment. She meets Dante Vettori who calls her "Angel" and he comes to her rescue by finding her a place to live.

Much more to the story but it deserves to be read rather than I give more of it away. Solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Where to begin?

Set in a country that I want to see, this is a story of Love at First Sight. And even that, not just for one of them but both. Sparks fly right, left and centre but Dante and Angelica both consciously make efforts not to give in (Dante more so) because they are not sure if they envisage a future together.

Emotions and sparks flying high, this story talks about emotions and pain that are suppressed behind different layers of indifference and special clothing.

Making themselves vulnerable when the consequences are unknown is a very big leap of faith but they jump in it anyways.

And together they surface in their happily ever after.

I have always been a huge fan of artwork the absolutely brilliance of just how amazing it all looks once it's done. I love staring at the details the artist took the time to create, but there is one thing that I have always found the most fascinating and that is the questions that pop up in my mind about what meaning did it have to them.

Of course with most great artists being deceased it's for the most part a guessing game, and for that reason I am so very thankful for my imagination. I can pretend the piece was inspired by a lover or by a wondrous event in the artists life, am of course most likely incorrect but using one's imagination is part of art and thus makes it so interesting and adds to the wonder and mystery of the piece.

In the new read from Liz Fielding she has brought my imagination to life with a stunning story of love, self discovery and mystery set against the amazing world of art.

The read tells of Natasha and how her 'My life is going in the right direction' takes a turn for the worst when she upsets the number one client of the real estate firm she works for and is left unemployed and her perfect reputation shattered. But this is one woman that will not go down without a fight. She steps up to the plate and makes the client a proposition he can't refuse, only the very tempting client Mr I can strip you naked with the mere flick of a pencil aka Darius has a proposition of his own. She has to pose naked for him!

Not one to back down from a challenge Natasha figures why not, what's the worse that could happen. Soon she realizes that exposing her naked self to Darius equals mind blowing sex but exposing her heart and soul, now that is a challenge she's not so sure she'll ever be up for because Darius is as closed off as he is dark and mysterious and breaking the barriers might leave her heart shattered never mind her rep.

The character of Natasha was one of the bravest I have read in long time. Being fired, having your hard worked for reputation shattered, losing your car to your rival, having your mother on your back, and having to face major scandal is not something I wish on my worst enemy. But the author created the perfect heroine that fights back, makes it all work for her by turning it around as best she can.

I took away a vital message through this characters eyes, the author showed just how badly an over protected person can become too invested in making a success of their lives and letting others know to back off "I can handle this" that they need a serious reality check in order to realize they have been pushing too hard.

The character of Darius was breathtaking and I fell in love with this hero from the first time he graced the pages. My love of art and the secrets artists hide within their creations was wrapped up in this man so vividly it brought my heart to a sudden stop more than once. Through this character the author showed what the true meaning of art is to an artist, the intense depth and emotion they pour into their work, the pain and despair a piece can portray or the very true and unconditional love they create in the only way they know how.

And it's that same intense emotion and beautiful love that I found in the author's writing. She took an incredible story of love and molded it into a true work of art that I have only been able to dream up in my imagination. The backdrop settings were so exquisitely described by the author it placed me right in the front row seat of it all.  I felt the mystery and sorrow of the land at Hadley Chase where a centuries old vicious triangle of betrayal and broken trust started it all.

I'm taking away a message of trust is vital in any relationship, without it's just as good as you baring yourself for all the world to see as the real you and not having the faith that you will be accepted for who you are.

I highly recommend this read for each and every romance fan out there. Believe me you will be entranced, over and over again on this truly magical journey of love.

And a huge thank the author for taking the time to create a world of art meets romance and for bringing to life the absolute wonder of the meaning of love portrayed through art.

A remarkable, magical, passionate heart-stopping read brought to life through the eyes of an author that will without a doubt go down in history!!

When we are young we tend to fall in love very easily and not for one minute do we stop to think it could all go wrong. We tend to believe it will all be pure bliss, wedding bells and happy ever after.

So when reality intrudes the heartache is sometimes more than we can handle and we are scared for life.

And when the heartache takes on a new spin and the source of it returns in all it's glory ready to pounce and rip your heart out all over again it can quickly turn into the most vital journey of your life.

In this Liz Fielding read this is the case for Casey she falls for Gil and his unmistakable charm. But when she realizes he is only after her in order to get bragging rights for bedding the boss's daughter she is furious and takes him on, thinking just maybe there is still hope for them to get through this little disaster, but when morning comes he is gone and along with him all her dreams.

Years later Gil is back and this time around he is not the boss's employee nor is he the struggling worker he use to be and he is ready to take Casey's father's business from right under his nose, after all he was sacked for falling in love with the man's daughter in the first place so why not take it all.

But to make the deal even sweeter he forces Casey into marriage, that way he will finally have her in his bed for the taking, only when he has her he realizes that this little business no love deal is about to blow up in his face for Casey is far sweeter than he thought and he cannot seem to let go.

I adored this book from page one, I could not stop reading to find out how this will play out. Yes other marriage - old lovers reunited books have been done before but not quite with this much intensity or emotional depth with the author's unique manner of writing.

The author created sensational characters both so strong willed that the conflict was nearly as hot as the passion.

And the ending, oh my the ending was simply the perfect stuff romance reads are made of, gorgeous and so beautifully brought together that I cried my happy little tears of joy with no thought of who is looking at me and thinking why is she bawling her eyes out.

I am taking away a special message of revenge is not always as sweet as we would want it to be,yes sometimes revenge is justifiable but it still does not make it right for in the end all it will cause is more heartache and by then it could all be too late to repair.

I highly recommend this read for all fans of romance reads with that special something that will stay with you for a very long time. This is the type of book that makes me come back for more and more romance !

Anything but Vanilla by Liz Fielding

Anything but Vanilla...

Reviewed by Desere

Since the world of 50 shades hit the books I have come across the "vanilla" phrase more and more. But it still amazes me that each time it has a different meaning. In Anything but Vanilla the author showed that life is about colour, flavour, everything sweet and spiced so not plain old vanilla.

The book tells the story of Sorrel, she has a business to run and nothing is going to stop her even if she has to buy the store that supplies her the deliciously sinful tasting ices. But she does not count on falling for the landlord or his delectably sweet as strawberry ice cream kisses.

Only Alex is your free spirit kind of man and goes from country to jungle hunting for plants that will save lives and staying in one place will never happen. Falling for Sorrel and her spicier than Cheyenne pepper touches will never do and soon he will have to let go and never look back, as they say when there is heat the ice cream melts, and he needs to get out before he melts to a puddle at Sorrel's feet.

The main characters of Sorrel and Alex were both kind of fun to read, I loved how Sorrel was the independent type willing to work hard towards her goals in life, I however did not like the fact that she struggled to stand up to her fiancée, but it did add spice to the read with him lurking in the background ready to stop the back and forth pop rocks fireworks between Sorrel and Alex.

Alex on the other hand I had a problem with as his inner turmoil almost made him too much of a emotional wreck to want to deal with and he just screamed "hands off baby", yet as the story progressed I could pick up the authors trail of thought and sense that he was indeed going to turn into a hero to love.

The backdrop setting was calm and serene, and I felt totally at peace whilst reading about the gardens and small town shops depicted by the author, but I could also picture the wild and bug infested jungles that the author described with vivid detail.

The dialogue was very sweet, sensual and laced with loads of references to ice cream making it a really sweet read. The sexual tension in this read was of the good and slow progressing kind building to the point of no return and sensual heat.

I recommend this read for all lovers of romances filled with words meeting the world of food of the iced and heated kind.

Yes, after FIFTY SHADES OF GREY,  the word vanilla has taken on a whole new meaning, like 'boring' and 'predictable'.  I know that Liz Fielding is a mistress of the craft of romance writing and yes, I know she can do hot, but I was wondering what was in store when I read this title.  Well, I needn't have worried, Liz is a writer who knows how to make a relationship sizzle on the page, but she's still writes the kind of books you can give your teenage daughter (or your mother in law for that matter) without raising a blush. She's that reliable.  And if in any doubt, remember, with the Harlequin KISS line you can be sure you won't be taken by surprise.

It's just that Sorrell Amery, the heroine of this novel, is an empress of ice cream.  Cucumber ice cream, chocolate and chilli ice cream.  In short, anything but vanilla....

There's not much I can say about Liz that hasn't already been said by hundreds of book critics more experienced and articulate than I am.  She knows how to give a reader a good time.  She can charm you and  intrigue you and keep you glued to your e reader (or your book).  I adore Liz's heroes, whom I visualize as tall, muscular English men with an innate sense of decency and fair play and while they may be dismissive of their heroine's often flighty appearance, once they get to know her, they are hooked forever.  Alexander West will capture your heart, readers, as will Sorrell and her adorable family 'The Herbs'.  Anyone remember the herbs?  I do......

There's lots of lovely wisdom in there too, from 'Rosie's Little Book of Ice Cream'.  It fairly made me want to rush out and buy a cornetto.  Because as we all know, there's only one thing as nice as a good romance novel and a big bar of chocolate and that's a nice serving of ice cream.  And yes, it can be vanilla.  I'm not that particular, you know.  Ice cream is ice cream, one of the nicest things in life....

Verdict?  Yes, absolutely!

But the arrival of a oh me oh my sexy stranger Jack (that btw the author so very nicely "delivers" to us as a "kiss o gram" ~ really loved that touch Liz) lets Holly realize that she craves the forbidden.

And yes ladies I am talking some seriously dangerous passion that invokes a lot more that simply flirtation. The characters were strong, independent, and so much fun to read about.

I loved seeing  how Jack draws Holly out of her "don't touch or I will break" covering and lets loose the woman behind the business suit.

This one made me laugh out loud.  An absolute treat.  A sweet romance with a real comic element.

I think we all know someone like Rosie, if we're not like that ourselves.  Someone who dutifully signs up to marry a 'nice' reliable man, steering clear of those heartbreakers who would wreck your life without a second thought.  Except that 'Mr Right' could be 'Mr Wrong' if you don't get with him for the right reasons, i.e. because he makes you truly happy.

When the sedate Rosie Parry looks up from her desk to find herself being serenaded by a handsome saxaphone player, she thinks her life has gone as crazy as it's going to get.  She's wrong.  It gets worse.  And worse.  And her boss and future husband Anthony Harlowe is none too pleased.  But he become even more displeased when he chances upon Rosie and the saxaphone alone together in a most unexpected place.

As I said before, this is a writer on top of her craft.  Her timing is impeccable.  The story flows smoothly, with a few surprises along the way.  Rosie and Jack just jump off the page and their love story will delight you.

Old DesiresThis is the start to the fabulous book by one of the best authors of all time.  The chemistry and rough moments of some very delightful dialogue between Joshua and Holly was splendid and so much fun to read.

I loved how the author used little tricks here and there to bring these two characters to a fiery duel of romance.

What I especially loved was the mystery behind the identity of Holly's father. It added to the allure of the book and in the end brought it all together for me as reader.

This is one of Liz's earlier books re-released with a new cover. But the book was certainly not old fashioned in any manner, the author still delivered a stunning romance. A vintage Liz Fielding novel which made me realize something interesting.  Since returning to reading romance novels several years ago, I've come to understand that Liz Fielding is a romance novelist on top of her craft.  Reading this one has made me understand that she's been on top of her craft for a very long time indeed.  She knows how to give a reader a good time - to make you laugh, cry and make your heart leap with the very intimate and tender emotions that only new love can bring.

The two main characters, Holly and Joshua quickly become familiar - Holly, a loving, vulnerable young woman who lost her beloved mother in recent years and who has been struggling along as an art teacher and Joshua, cold, forbidding and judgmental.  Prejudiced against poor Holly really.  Holly's struggle to come to terms with her parentage and the gradual melting of Joshua's prejudice.  As the story gradually moves towards the realization of the truth, the reader is right there with her.

Interestingly, the point of view is all Holly's. Unlike many of the romance novels of today, we don't get the male POV.  And do you know what?  We don't want to either.  It's very much Holly's story, and the story of her engagement with the reader.

Highly recommended.  A warm, lovely read.

Liz Fielding is one of those authors that knows how to use her talented writing expertise to tantalise and entrance any reader.

In A Strangers Kiss she introduced me to two really wonderful characters, first there is Tara who's attempt at getting away from a "stranger" lands her in the lap of sexy as sin Adam.

Then there is the delicious oh so yummy Adam who reckons as business man he can and will control Tara by forcing her to be his temporary secretary. Only as the story progresses secrets of Adam's previous secretary threaten to tear the new found feelings between Tara and Adam to shreds.

Then there is the fabulous take of the authors account as to just why Tara has decided to remain faithful to her wedding vows, yes ladies I said wedding vows SHE'S MARRIED!

Or well she use to be, her husband has long gone passed yet she still dresses not to noticed and prefers to stay behind the emotional walls she has erected, walls that only Adam can tear down if he can get past her constant blocking of feelings.

The author had me on the edge of my seat and rooting for this couple all the way, I loved how the author incorporated little secrets and "previous life" trials and tribulations to really spice up the book.

The author also had me wanting to smack Adam so hard he would forget his own name as almost right throughout the book he is truly awful to poor Tara , a overbearing idiot at best! He at one stage even accuses her of being responsible for one of his co -workers attempts to rape her. I hear you ......PIG!

But the author does a really brilliant job of bringing him around to finally understand what Tara has and is going through. There was very lovely chemistry between the couple .

I will also say that as angry as Adam's snide comments made me ,I will admit it made for some very interesting dialogue and had the effect I am sure the author was aiming for ...to riddle up the reader to the point of frustration, before she brings the story to completion ! Well done Liz!

A vintage romance by Liz Fielding, recently released in digital format.

This is a sweet romance - no sex scenes - however, it sizzles - literally!

Tara meets Adam when she is being pursued by an admirer who could definitely be described as a stalker.  She presents Adam as her date for the evening and Adam willingly obliges, kissing her in such a way that she has to return his kiss.  Next day, when Tara finds out that Adam is the boss of the executive with whom she has a business meeting, the deal is sealed.  Tara is now the private secretary to the worst boss ever.  Can things really get any worse?  Trust me.  They do.

Adam is a tough boss, demanding and at times unbearable.  Tara matches him verbal blow for verbal blow.  Their sparring is very realistic.  I had trouble keeping my cool at some of the situations Adam provokes with his MCP attitude and this, for me, shows just how engaged I was in the story.  Game, set and match to Liz Fielding.  How she could get an MCP like Adam to turn into a desirable lover is a well nigh incredible feat in my humble opinion.

A fascinating little romance which deserves to be read, or reread if you've read it before.  Tara is one cool headed lady and I truly admired her style.  A classic from Liz Fielding.  Go get it!

ELOPING WITH EMMY is full of witty dialogue and funny anecdotes. It was a fun, light read and a good escape. I loved the characters and the growth and progression of romance between them was exquisitely rendered. But then this is expected from the master story-teller Liz Fielding.

Flirting with Italian by Liz Fielding

Review by Nas

FLIRTING WITH ITALIAN by Liz Fielding is a January 2012 release by Harlequin Romance.

Sarah Gratton takes a teaching job in Italy to get away from the memories of where her heart shattered. She shares her experiences via a blog with her old school back in England.

One day she goes looking for a village where her grandfather had found shelter during the war. What will she find in the village? Will she find the special lady who helped her grandfather?

Matteo di Serrone is now living in the house that her grandfather found shelter in. Meeting Matteo, Sarah feels the spine-tingling awareness of him. After all her grandfather had advised her to find herself a dark-eyed Italian lover to forget about her heart-ache! Dare she take her grandfather’s advice?

FLIRTING WITH ITALIAN had some pleasant and unexpected twists and turns. As Sarah said, ‘’…I didn’t mean to fall in love. That just wasn’t supposed to happen. I was in love with Tom and had my entire life planned out. Tom ran into Louise and I hit Matteo. A head on collision… ’’

Liz Fielding has brought with her master story telling this remarkable tale, FLIRTING WITH ITALIAN that sparkles with plenty of sizzle, sensuality and romance. Her characters are amazing in their complexities, their interactions and their growing love for each another. It’s definitely for the keeper shelf!
