A Vacation Affair by Nicole Flockton

A Vacation Affair

Reviewed by Desere

Being betrayed is one of the worse experiences anyone will have to face in life. You feel like you somehow failed yourself, you ask why you never saw the signs and you pretty much feel as low as scum even though it's not your fault. So naturally you will need to find something that lifts you up again.

In this read from talented Nicole Flockton, we meet Brandt Whitaker, once betrayed by a former lover, he has set his sights on concentrating on his Caribbean resort and spa. And he's worked really hard to make it the most sought after place to stay, but he's still restless and looking for something new to focus on. He never expects for his new found focus standing in the lobby of his hotel.

For Erika Roberts, this little trip to paradise, was meant to be the trip of a lifetime, a chance to reconnect with her long term boyfriend. But instead it turns into a getaway for one. She's determined to make the most of her time and not mope around wallowing in disappointment and sadness. So when she spots hunky Brandt , she recons a vacation affair is exactly what she needs.

As their time in paradise gets tested by the waters of passion, the storm in their battered hearts pound out the question they both have to deal with, will this simply be a vacation affair or will they beat the odds and forever live in paradise?

This was a nice short read, literally took me under an hour. It had a great even flow and the characters and plot was really well developed for such a short read. Some short reads have a tendency to go from meet, to hot in bed, to dark moment to end. And that's all there is, no development of the characters, their hurt, their anger, resentment and of course the actual plot that seems to go from point a to b and then suddenly d , and leaves me as reader asking " What happened to c?" So very nicely done Nicole, you crammed everything I wanted into a very short, nice package!

Now onto the juicy stuff without totally ruining this read for you, because as with all reads from this author, this is another very sexy read that is not to be missed.  The heat and attraction level in this read was off the charts, pages seemed to light up even before the characters even actually met, the setting of a paradise island was perfect for the plot. I think if the author chose a different location such as say Paris, then this simply could not have been so hot to read. It was the combination of sun, surf , and long hot nights that really sent up the sexiness of this read.

Both characters were ones I wanted to hold to let them know it will be okay at some point, but of course that is something I could not do, and thus it is as always up to the author , and a lot of times I find that the author simply does not do it properly, they take it to the level where the reader can walk away with an ending but not really a satisfying ending, definitely not the case in this read, I was grinning like a loon when the ending rolled around.

So if you need a little afternoon romance fix, that's fast, fun, filled with sexiness and a stunning message of being able to take on a challenge for a change in life , this is the perfect book!

This is an exciting sensual and emotional story that you will read in one sitting the setting is just beautiful a resort and spa on an island in the Caribbean to die for the perfect place for Erika Roberts to get away to after being cheated badly by her ex and yes she is more than happy to have a vacation affair.

Brandt Whittaker has worked hard to be where he is today and even being cheated badly by his ex couldn't stop him from finally opening up his dream holiday resort even if he did have to change a few things but here he was and although a bit emotionally battered he is smiling.

When Brandt first sees Erika he decides that he wants her but it has been a while since he has felt this way and with Erika looking for a fun holiday the pull has them eventually meeting up but things don't run smoothly Erika is a strong up front beautiful woman and Brandt is still getting over his past, but when they end up at the secluded beach house things really heat up and not only do they have a very sensual time they also open up to each other and this is just what is needed for both of them a sexy emotional HEA that will keep you smiling.

I loved this one and highly recommend it.

The Victor by Nicole Flockton

The Victor - A Prequel Novella (The Freemasons - #1)

Ava Vaughan steps back into a world of glitz, glam and secrecy, a world where she knows she never belonged. But it's necessary if she wants to get her estranged husband to agree to a divorce. After living apart for the last six months the time has come to cut all ties and really start her life over. But she does not expect Cole to say No! Nor does she expect him to kiss her senseless and pretty much knock her off kilter all over again, just like old times.

Cole is no where near ready to let his beloved wife walk away, he devises a plan to keep her around for just a little while, in the office, in the kitchen , in his bed and of course in his life, once he is ready to really let go, she can have her divorce but not before he's darn well and ready!

Ava agrees to live with Cole again and work at his firm as the planner of a major event, once the event it done and dusted she can get back to her life and of course she will have the divorce. But as time passes old feelings rise to the surface, feelings of heartache and loss, of unbearable pain and despair, and feelings of the overwhelming never ending desire they both feel.  But as much as Ava has and still loves Cole he never has nor will he ever love her, so why stick around?

Two hours was all it took to read this fabulous little read, yes two hours is all it took for me to fall hopelessly in love with these two lost souls that were so badly in need of guidance. And guide them the author did ,with spectacular fashion!

The character of Cole is of course every romance reader's worse nightmare, a real ass, arrogant, demanding and always issuing orders to get his way, but let's be honest gals that's what us lovers of romance wants. We want a hero that will be pushed into a corner till they spill it all ! And spill he did, not the secrets about Freemasonry of course but definitely everything I wanted him to!  Btw Nicole the entire secrecy of Freemasonry , SUPER SEXY!

The character of Ava was lost, and I mean really lost as in drowning in a sea of denial, sorrow and all I wanted to do was hug her, and tell her to get her ducks in a row, but as the read went on I was able to really understand why she's so lost and not willing to get anything in a row and rather head for the easier route of divorce.

This being the prequel to the Freemasons series it was short but so very powerful. Fast paced, loaded with emotion and left quite the impact on me. A stunning read about two people who were never meant to be apart, slipping back into their comfort zone with the barriers from the past only half way in place and then the power of love knocking down each and every single one of those barriers. Passionate, heartfelt, remarkable and compelling are just some of the words that come to mind, the book is a whole lot more and simply one that is not to be missed.

I am literally already going out of my mind crazy waiting for book two of this series and I only read this one a few hours ago! Nicole Flockton get your butt into gear and bring on the next one!

Nicole Flockton is back baby! And oh my gosh is she back with a bang! The bound series continues and this time we meet Nick Rhodes, he has been burned before, so when his new assistant walks in he has one simple rule: no emotional attachments of any kind on either side!

Pamela is everything he needs in a professional colleague and best of all she comes with an ironclad guarantee, she absolutely will not fall in love with him.

So it's a win, win deal because all Pamela has on her mind is sorting through the endless mountain of medical expenses incurred through her mother's care. So falling in love with her sexy new boss and jeopardizing her new income is totally off the table!

But New York is a very romantic place and soon Pamela and Nick find themselves spending more and more time together in the city that never sleeps, hey stop sleeping and start fantasizing . Soon hotter than hot nights take over and Nick comes to a stand still, does he break his own rule to snare the woman of his dreams or does he simply let her walk away?

I totally heart this author and it's because of books like this one that she will always remain on my auto buy list. The read was super sexy and Nick is definitely by far the best book boyfriend ever! I wanted to strangle him, kiss him senseless, kill him and kill anyone that goes near him, yep I experienced all those crazy book emotions that let's those who do not read, think you are a complete maniac!

Pamela was such a stunningly written character that she totally blew me away, yes she's a bit of the normal lonely, sad, in desperate need of help but too hardworking and proud to ask for it kind of heroine but with a twist. The author let her still be all of the above but with such a strong inner light that you want to help her or you wish someone would help her but at the same time you don't want to because it would dim her light of confidence. It was truly remarkable to read about.

I am taking away a message of life does hurt, be it a former fling that only saw you as a dollar sign or be it a past that has resulted in you struggling to reach the top again, no matter there is always hurt. But when the chance to heal comes along it is of the most utter importance to grab hold of it and not let the past hold you back, because once walks out the door it ain't never coming back.

I highly recommend this read for all fans of romance, it's sweet, hot, spicy, super sexy and will leave such an impression on you that you will not be able to wait to step back into the brilliant world this author creates , time and time again!

Alan and Coleen. The author takes us on a stunning journey of when
we make choices we need to learn how to handle the consequences.

In book three Chad's Chance by Ellen Arden I got to meet Chad and Jen.
The message of life knocks us down when we least expect it,
in order to show us that we should be doing something else,
was so vivid and realistic it will forever remain with me.

In book four Daniel's Decision by Nicole Flockton the author crafted a
beautiful story of how Daniel and Rochelle learn that life is
not always the perfect image we have in our minds.

In book five Ashley's Allegiance by Robyn Neely Jacob and Ashley
learn that not everyone is always as they seem.

Daniel's Decision

Reviewed by Desere

The read tells of Daniel and how he decides he wants to turn his family hospitality retreat into a Eco friendly resort. His family think him mad, but he powers ahead full steam and goes after the information he needs to get the job done.

For this he travels to Australia and there is where his troubles start, he meets Rochelle, she knocks his socks off, but he decides to rather focus his attention on getting the info he needs for things to take shape back home, doing just that is really hard of course, but life is full of surprises.

Rochelle is pretty much the same as Daniel, she is focused on her goals and even more so to ensure that she will never be financially dependent on anyone, and the last thing she needs in the way of her plans is a sexy make my toes curl Daniel to complicate her life.

But as they spend time together they learn more about each other and things start to blossom, then suddenly an emergency back home takes Daniel away from her, that is unless he can convince her to come back with him. But leaving her home and her life behind for a man, now that has never been part of her master-plan.

This was a wonderful book of two people both following their dreams to the ends of the earth, and learning a valuable lesson along the way.

I love the character of Daniel so very much that the man had me in tears on a regular basis. Tears of frustration, joy, anger and hope. I adored that the author let Rochelle knock him from his stay goal focused pedestal just a little, it showed that even when we think we are in control someone is bound to come around and let us see what it is we are really doing.

Rochelle was a wonderful character, to me it felt as if the author took this character from a complete different world than were heroine's usually come from, it was as if this character was so much more real, so much more intense and so much more than just a name on a page. I wanted to hug her and tell her it will all be okay and that it will work out.

Of course I could not because even in the most romantic of reads things do not always work out exactly like you want them to, and this is what kept me glued to the edge of my seat, tissues on hand and waiting for the wow moment to come.

I am taking away a message of when we find love, we should not let our goals or perfect idea of life get in the way, sometimes you need to bend the rules a little to get what you want.

I recommend this read for all fans who love a good, romantic, heartfelt, emotional, stunning afternoon reads!

Some short reads tend to not always get it right and time and time again it seems it has skipped past some crucial elements
and thus the read kind of feels like it has fallen flat, like you have been cheated out of half the characters lives.

But in this read the author yes, did not go into major detail on the lives of the characters and some readers might feel cheated, however the author gave fantastic attention to detail to the here and now, and this drew my focus and kept my attention more than expressive detail to the lives of the characters would have. The read had a certain, no need to get into it all feel about it and had the author gone deeper with details I would have felt like it was dragging.

This read was very, very super spicy and had loads of bouncing off the walls sexual energy, building it all up to such a feverish pitch it felt as if the entire book was going to explode and burst into a thousand flames.

I can honestly say I enjoyed every minute and I was completely fascinated with this author's words once again. Nicole keep up the brilliant work !

I recommend this read for lovers of seriously hot short reads that hold a little "Don't wait for the good stuff to fall into your lap, see it, grab it and have fun!" message.

In this fabulous little read by the talented Nicole Flockton this is the case for nurse Lisa.

I loved, loved this short read. Fun, sexy and it even had a touch of sweet emotion. Most short reads tend to go from hello to goodbye without even a glimpse of good stuff in between.

Characters were well written, both funny and spicy!

I'm taking away a message of life might seem dull, gloomy and like everyone else has romance but, if stand you still or in this case get trapped long enough you might just find your very own romance hero has been shooting arrows in your direction all along!

The book also includes three other very romantic reads like the very stand out read from Rachel Cross that tells of mental illness and how one woman finds herself knee deep in manure and losing her heart. Bloom was a very quick and sexy read with loads of tension and heartache.

I unexpectedly found myself crying as I was expecting a valentines day romance but instead found a love blossoming among-st the backdrop of illness.

I very much enjoyed this twist and it showed just how difficult love can be, you expect twinkling start and roses and instead you might find it hidden among-st the most foul smelling of odors.

Seducing Phoebe by Nicole Flockton

Seducing Phoebe

Imagine standing on the verge of getting married to a a man that can give you everything, yes there is no love in the relationship but there is security and a certain level of caring.

Then suddenly your ex pops back up from where ever he took off to in the first place and declares his undying love for you!

Because all woman know that if you had the chance to get back a man you loved with all your heart, even if he broke your's, you still would hate yourself for not thinking about taking the chance to have him back in your life, and let's face it we all want love as oppose to just a little bit of caring.

So when faced with picking between her fiancée in-your-arms-I-feel -heaven- Marco and her ex John poor Phoebe is understandably torn and in a state of limbo.

She calls of the engagement and takes off running for the hills to clear her mind. She does not expect Marco to show up at her little retreat and demand that they are meant to be together and he will do anything to prove it, he will make her forget about John with every touch and every kiss her ex will be a distant memory never to be remembered again.

But will he succeed in convincing her that his caring for her has changed to something so much deeper or will Phoebe go running back to the arms of the man that once loved her for real?

The character of Phoebe was pretty cool to read about as through her I was reminded that we all have that one special someone that hurt us so bad but when they are standing in front of us again they have the power to disrupt our perfect lives even when we know that once almost destroyed us, it certainly showed old love never fully dies.

I loved how the author gives Phoebe the courage to not overreact and instead go and seek space to try and come to a decision, but when Marco shows up, my first thoughts were this is the one she is meant to be with as he has the guts to come after her instead of letting her confuse herself by drawing into some kind of cocoon on her own, the type of man we all want, one that will fight for you till the very end.

The character of of Marco as I mentioned was the perfect man, yes he has some serious issues from his past that makes him a bit of a mystery and also act a little nutty at times, but we all have something in our past that makes us act out of sorts and the person in our life does start to think that we have lost it, as our reactions just don't make sense, but the author showed that the best way to deal with this is to trust someone and let them in so that they can understand.

The backdrop settings blended nicely and the dialogue was emotional all the way, from where undying love is professed to where secrets are revealed, the author held my attention and her words did leave me crying a tear every now and then giving the read that perfect this is real life feeling.

The read did not feel dragged out or that it was not getting to a conclusion , the author instead let the relationship between Marco and Phoebe flow with ease and showed that all couples need to get to know each other, because if you don't the worst of surprises could destroy any chance there might be.

I am taking away a message of when you fall in love you need to never give up, keep fighting for the one you love. If you let them walk away, you will always be left with emptiness and the feeling that happiness will always be out of your reach. A passionate, heart-warming read.

Review by TashNz

Seducing Phoebe by the Nicole Flockton is an October 2013  Crimson Books release.  Phoebe is friends with the main characters from Masquerade and Rescuing Dawn and this is her story.

I find Nicole Flocktons stories to be incredibly romantic and Seducing Phoebe is no different.  It's a heart-warming tale of a man who doesn’t give up on love or what he believes in.  In the modern day it’s what we do, we give up and walk away when it gets too hard.  Marco doesn't.  When Phoebe floors him with her snap decision to end their engagement Marco steps up and goes after the love of his life with both barrels.  As far as he’s concerned it’s not over until the fat lady sings.

Set mostly away from the hustle bustle of daily life at a reclusive beach house gives Marco and Phoebe plenty of alone time and lots of opportunity for dialogue.  I also  really liked there was an emergency situation that cropped up.  This also reminds me why I love Nicole's stories, the dialogue is meaningful, intense and has me turning page after page to see what happens next.

Phoebe is confused, she rushed into an engagement, hot off the tales of a break up that left her miserable.  When her past love comes back into town she seriously doubts her feelings for Marco... afterall they've never told each other they love each other.  It's during the time at the beach house when Phoebe sits down and wonders why that is and when Marco surprisingly arrives that Nicole starts weaving her magical way with words.  If you're looking for a darn good story to settle down for the night with, Seducing Phoebe is highly recommended.

Having  read the first two books, I totally loved the Epilogue.  What a fantastic way to wrap the stories up.

Finally, I must mention something that was raised in the book which deserves its own paragraph.  Tim Tams... my favorite biscuits in the whole wide world. I've read many a book with a packet next to me.

Rescuing Dawn by Nicole Flockton

Finding the man of your dreams during your teenager years is very rare, okay not so rare but holding onto that love found is a complete different story.

You are both still young and have hopes and dreams, and if the dreams don't meet up in the middle there really is no chance of the relationship working.

In this read from author Nicole Flockton she tells the story of Dawn, she once met the man of her dreams but then he went off seeking adventure and left her behind. She dealt with the pain and heartache only to find more heartache. So when the man of her dreams Andrew walks back into her life she understandably would rather run away then run back into his arms again.

The character of Dawn was a tragic one, she has suffered loss of loved ones more than once and that has made her the type of person that would rather just focus on work and nothing else, for getting attached to anyone and then loosing them would be more than she can bare, she will not put herself at risk again. I did not so much like the character, as yes I could understand she has been hurt and is scared to take a risk at loving again, but the reasoning behind her guilt trip with regards to not being allowed happiness was just a little too unreal. I honestly wanted to grab this character and just shake some sense into her. I did however love that the author uses her past pain to open the road to a new life, but as I said I did really care too much for the reasoning of the guilt.

The character of Andrew was very pleasant, I understood his reasoning for leaving Dawn behind so long ago, all of us needs adventure and sometimes we have no choice but to let go of ones we love in order to go and seek our happiness.  I adored that the author lets him be kind and caring and very patient with Dawn, it showed that the man is definitely strong enough to take whatever Dawn and her pain throws his way.

The backdrop and dialogue was well written and had a nice and cosy feeling to it. What I did not like about this read was that it was slow and almost dragged out, yes healing takes time but at times I found myself wanting to shout out " Just spit it out already!"

I feel the author could have moved the healing between Andrew and Dawn to a quicker pace,I think this would have given the read a bit more excitement, which would have let the book just flow a little more.

A nice message of when you love someone set them free if it's meant to be they will come back to you.

Overall a very nice afternoon read, with heartfelt romance and lots of emotion. I recommend this read for lovers of reading romance where past and future collides to make way for a happy ever after.

Rescuing Dawn by Nicole Flockton

Andrew Holmes left Nicole after dating her for two years. He told her he was going to follow his dreams of sailing around the world and he did not know when he would be back. After a near death experience at sea he returns home to become a Paramedic and comes face to face with the woman he never forgot.

Dawn Granger never truly got over the young man who walked away from her. He had been her entire life. And when Andrew left so did a big piece of her heart. After a number of years she met and married Tom, even though the love was more one sided, she had moved on to a certain extent. Then tragedy struck when a car accident took the life of her husband and son. She now finds herself working long hours as an emergency room nurse on the graveyard shift, only to go home eat and go to bed so she can get up and do it all over again. This is how she copes, with the unbearable lost of her husband and young infant son.  Dawn is still suffering grief two years later.

Dawn has mixed feelings about starting a relationship again with Andrew or any man for that matter. And part of me as a reader totally understood that. I think I would have felt the same feelings to a certain extent, would he walk away again, would be at the back of my mind too.  I did feel there was a great attraction between these two, and that they were meant to be together. I believe Andrew was just very young and selfish in the decisions he made.

I had mixed feelings with this story for a couple of reasons. In the story line Dawn is very indecisive weather she wants to be in a relationship with Andrew again or not, and I don’t mean just a few times. The author at one point writes the following. “I want to believe you, but you tell me you’re ready to move forward and then you take three steps back.” That is how I felt this book was for a while. One to two steps forward then a few steps back. And why had Andrew not gone to the trouble to find Dawn when he returned to Perth? But then the Author writes one of the most moving scenes when Dawn and Andrew go away for a few days. And Dawn is having a little bit of a quiet time reflecting, that just brought me to tears.

Bottom line is this a good read? Yes at times it is good, but at other times frustrating with Dawn’s Character going back and forth so much.

Rescuing Dawn, a 2013 June Crimson Reads release, took me on the heartfelt journey of Dawn, a nurse who has lost everything in the world that was precious to her. A very good looking blast from her past rolls in thru the emergency doors and like all good paramedics do, Andrew decides he will put 100% effort into a rescue, the rescue of Dawn.

I wouldn’t want to be in Dawn’s shoes and think that the author did a great job of describing how one may feel being in such a situation.  I liked Andrew’s character and think that his characteristics suited Dawn and that any other alpha hero wouldn’t have worked in this story.  I liked the emergency ward setting and thought it was a fantastic idea by the author to put Dawn in such a setting to enable her character to grieve by sleeping the day away…it was a small detail that helped form Dawn in my mind and understand a little of what she must be going thru.

Overall I thought Nicole Flockton, one of my favourite debut authors, has given us readers a very carefully written tale which covers a range of sensitive issues with respect and sensitivity.

Rescuing Dawn would be a winner with fans of Medical Romances and Sweet lines and for fans of Novella length stories.

Dawn's life can only be described as ghastly.  She walks in a twilight world, unable to face the day, a woman who 'man's' the night shift, night after night.  As the broken bodies are brought in, there is no balance, no day to balance the night, no health to balance the sickness.  The loss of her husband and child has left her a wife without a husband and a mother without a child.  A woman without a life.  As a nurse, her commitment to the patients injured in emergency is commendable.  But does she have an agenda?

Then, paramedic Andrew comes back into her life.  The man who left her years before, without a backward glance, leaving her devastated.  The man who broke her heart and left her to pick up the pieces of a shattered life.  Which she'd successfully got back together until it shattered again.

Can Andrew and Dawn get things right this time around?  Can Dawn leave the gruesome night shift life and step out into the sun?  Andrew wants to make it happen. But can he?

This is no flirty, frothy romance, but an intense, emotional story which will leave a lump in your throat at times.  But if you like intense, emotional reads, get this.

Bound By Her Ring by Nicole Flockton

Bound by Her Ring

Reviewed by Desere

As the title says he is bound to her by her ring and as the book unfolded I not only learned the significance of the ring but also that without the ring more than just a marriage is lost.

The book was, in short, about Jasmine who finds herself with amnesia after surviving a nasty car accident, the only link she has to the last few months of her life before the accident is a set of gorgeously crafted rings on her left hand, and more questions than answers of who the man is she called her husband.

While attending a party one evening she comes face to face with the man who placed those rings there and suddenly her memory starts returning in flashbacks and it seems that Luciano is the key to her unlocking her full past. Now, as much as she is set on regaining her memory Luciano has other plans of the more life destroying kind, he wants revenge and when he finally gets it, he will walk away leaving her as empty as she did him all those months ago.

The main characters of the book were well written and both had their own uniqueness, Jasmine being the woman who finally learns to stand up for herself and Luciano finally learning that control is not always the best option. I also really loved the different kind of person Luciano is every now and then , going from strong and commanding to passionate and caring, that kept me entertained. I particularly loved the manner the author used to layer back their secrets for me as reader. She kept me guessing all the way to the end as to just what really happened to tear these two apart when they clearly loved each other so much.

I was transported back between happier times for the couple and the here and now in fluent motion, which was important as when a book goes from past to future in a non flowing motion it lets me loose interest, as if I want to tell the author " Are you trying to make this as uninteresting as possible", however this author met my expectations and bounced from memory to current situations effortlessly.

The backdrop of Broome was perfect as it not only kept me at a relaxed page while reading with the vivid descriptions the author used to describe the island and it's tranquillity, but it also mixed in beautifully with the turmoiled  emotions that both characters were going through and therefore the calm vs the storm was beautifully combined.

The dialogue was in tune with the story, going from a flirty to emotional and then from secretive to soul baring. And at the end of the day I can honestly say I enjoyed this read very much. It was heated romance combined with cold hearted revenge being brought to a explosive bang by a onslaught of memories and a punchline that left me with sadness and sorrow but also understanding and a large dose of happiness for the characters.

If you're thinking that these two effortlessly and oh so smoothly fall back into bed together after being separated you would be wrong as the author put a lot more effort into it and surely but slowly lets the secrets, memories and love unfold unlike some books that deal with amnesia and lovers, they go from not remembering to jumping into bed and then going "Well that's OK I will remember later". This author took her time but not a dragging manner, as I said before I was kept on my toes and really entertained and intrigued at all time.

The title of the book was incorporated into book with absolutely stunning exquisiteness, which found simply awesome!

Excellent work Nicole, keep them coming!

Bound By Her Ring by Nicole Flockton is my kind of book!

Jasmine is recovering from amnesia when she's confronted by Luciano who claims to be her husband.   She doesn't remember Luciano but has memories of a "Lukas".
Jasmine feels like she's being slowly woken from her internal nightmares when she's with Lukas.  Memories start returning and nothing makes sense; she feels longing for Lukas but has a complete mind blank as to how and why.  Her memory is patchy but small things trigger recollections. Each flashback not only fanned the flames but keep the questions coming, some of which Lukas refuses to answer.   Jasmine is determined to find out her history and is frustrated when Lukas or her father won't assist in recovering her memories.

Lukas is driven by revenge and deep hurt when he reappears in Jasmines life.  H blackmails Jasmine to accompany him on a business trip.  He wants to lash out at the world for past hurts which are fed to the reader drop by glorious drop but his overall qualities shine thru.  Things don't go to plan when Lukas quickly realises he physically feels the same way about Jasmine as he did prior to her accident which in turn makes him question how he feels inside.  The new Jasmine is an enigma to Lukas; things just don't add up.  After spending time together it's hard for Lukas  to remember his desire for revenge.  He clearly loves Jasmine and knows he's in trouble when reaches the conclusion he wants to protect Jasmine and not let her find out her past actions.

I adored Bound By Her Ring because I love second chance stories.  I enjoyed the passionate and emotional ride I was taken on with Lukas and Jasmine.  Their love for each other shone thru.
The memory sequences are first-class. As each piece of the puzzle clicked into place I could understand Lukas's feelings and my heart just dropped when Jasmine recovered her full memory.  I want to start over and read the book again... not later, now!

I impatiently wait for Nicole Flockton's 3rd book!

So there you are, getting along as you do and this total stranger appears before you, tall, dark, handsome, the works and he tells you he’s your husband.  And you don’t even remember him?  Then you recall that yes, you’ve been suffering from amnesia lately and lost a year of your life and suddenly everything starts to make sense.  Only it doesn’t.  Because surely you’d remember him, he’s not the kind of guy people forget easily.  And now he’s insisting you come away with him on a business trip.  Sounds like the stuff that fantasies are made of, right?  Well, it’s a killer premise for a romance novel.

This is a highly sensual read.  Jasmine may not remember this man, but she sure has fun trying to get her memory back.  The love scenes are incredibly detailed and while the language for the most part was poetic rather than erotic, it almost slipped over the border into erotica at times.

The author has a most engaging voice which is perfect for romance fiction and kept me reading eagerly to the end.  Each time Jasmine remembers a detail from her past, a piece of the puzzle falls into place, revealing, ultimately, the truth about what really happened to her and the shocking reason why she lost her memory in the first place.

The lavish description and thrilling premise makes this a must read for readers of romance fiction.

Sweet, passionate, sensual, romantic, passionate are just some words that came to mind while reading this fabulous book!

I completely adored that Sophie and Alex have a hot and steamy night together( the whole masquerade ball idea LOVED IT) and then go their separate ways until a cruel twist of fate brings them back together so forceful that they both feel like they have been hit by a truck and are in need of some serious medical attention.

The characters were beautifully brought to life by the truly unique writing of Nicole Flockton. Both were strong, independent, go getters and both found it impossible to resit the strong and overpowering sexual attraction between each other.

The characters were so real that I felt as it I could actually feel the anguish of poor Sophie and the roller coaster of emotions Alex takes her on.

I loved the medical backdrop and the incorporation of real medical emergencies gave the book that true life feel. I loved that there were interesting main and secondary characters and the whole book was just a delight to read.

I loved that this was a easy read the words rolled of the pages.

Excellent work Nicole I look forward to your next one!

Masquerade is a beautiful and sweet romantic story set in the fast lane of the Emergency Department.

I adored the beginning (I swear I wrote this before I saw Desere's review).  Alex and Sophie, seemingly two opposites, meet and attract at the New Years Masquerade Ball.  The night goes off with a bang.  I could just imagine the beautiful setting in Perth, the lights glittering and the fireworks above, it was put together beautifully.  Alex and Sophie spend the night together, one night they both agree will be literally just one night before they carry on with their lives.  I was mesmerised by the descriptive writing and I loved the description of Alex undoing Sophie's mask and Sophie let if flutter to the ground. It was like an analogy of Sophie letting go of the past and starting anew.

Neither know who each other is until they meet again in the ED cubicle.  Dr Scavoni and Nurse Sophie! There's shock for both parties to look up at each other over a patient they are rushing to save.  Even more shocking to discover they are both the heads of their departments and have to share an office.  I really liked the discovery of who they were and how it was handled.  There was the perfect amount of shock and even humour when Sophie tells Alex all she needs now is his wife to turn up slap her.  Brilliantly written.

From here it just gets better and better.  Alex knows he's fighting a loosing battle with his feelings for Sophie.  Sophie's experience with her ex fiance is her main roadblock and who he is but both are drawn together like magnets.  With the background of thrilling emergencies and the delightful romantic thrills I was cursing I had to put the story down!

How do Alex and Sophie handle working together?  Can they resist their desires to reenact their one night?  It was only supposed to be one night!  How do they handle the complications of their pasts to enable to set them selves free to take a chance with each other?  Only reading Masquerade will help answer those questions.

I loved Masquerade and would highly recommend it for anyone who loves beautiful and sweet romantic stories mixed in with fantastic emergencies that one faces in the fast track of ED.  I don't read many Medicals, thanks to Masquerade I am seriously hooked and am now going to devour as many Medicals as I can.

5 stars for sure!

The title of this book and the cover are testament to the old saying 'never judge a book by it's cover'.  I had thought it would be something darkly erotic.  And I couldn't have been more wrong.  And that's the second time a book has fooled me recently.

Sophie and Alex meet on New Year's Eve at a masked ball.  Both are hurting from broken relationships and the possibility that their job/position in society may make it impossible to ever be in a happy relationship.  They're drawn together and decide to spend the night together, top secret and no repercussions.  But life has a way of  sneaking up on you and catching you out.  Especially your next day back at work.

I've no intention of spoiling the surprise, but believe me, when you've been no hold barred intimate with someone and they're working beside you right after that, this is one heck of a problem.  What do you do?  Carry on as if it never happened?  Or get into a relationship anyway and see if it will work out?  What have you got to lose anyway?

An intriguing little story.  I enjoyed it a lot.  I confess I was a little astonished that Sophie didn't take medication when she was ill, especially given the nature of her profession, but I suppose people in medicine and nursing are human just like the rest of us.  I also confess that I was a little disappointed in the hero at the black moment., although he redeemed himself just in time.  Maybe other readers wouldn't agree, but then, that's me....

I enjoyed this book and would recommend this to readers of romantic fiction.
